Since its release, viewers have responded to its emotional story and powerful performances from its leading pair.
All The Light We Cannot See currently boasts an 81% positive audience score on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, with Asha B describing it as 'a show with substance and depth.'
Meanwhile, user C W called it 'simply fantastic,' and 'a beautiful piece of storytelling.'
'Excellent series. Ruff also is fantastic and the cinematography is wonderful,' said Bad B.
Helen W described it as: 'A beautiful story albeit told without compromise,' adding 'you should watch!'
Critics were more divided on the adaptation, contributing to a 28% 'rotten' score, although most praised its production values and cinematography.
'All the Light We Cannot See starts off strong and will keep viewers engaged from the beginning until the very end,' wrote Ready Steady Cut.
It's worth watching for Loberti's outstanding performance and the generally impressive production value,' said Paste Magazine, while bemoaning that it 'could have been so much more.'
Meanwhile, NPR called it 'worthwhile and heartening.'
The show marks the acting debut of Aria Mia Loberti, who is herself, legally blind.
'When you decide, as I did, to open up the casting process to low vision and legally blind contenders for this protagonist, who is herself blind, it's not like you can go the usual route,' director Levy told Town & Country Magazine.
'It's not like the talent agencies have filled their rosters with actors who are blind; it's not a big pool. That's why I opened it up with a global casting search announced in a blitz, and we got hundreds and hundreds of self-tapes from people who just filmed an audition on their laptop or their phone.
'Among those, I noticed one from a young woman named Aria Mia Loberti, and while at that point I didn't know anything about her, I knew that there was something about her that popped,' the Deadpool & Wolverine director added.
'What was difficult was being a first-time actress,' said Loberti of her debut performance. More Trending
'I had never been on a set before and that was the challenge. I brought a lot from my day-to-day life—my ballet training and martial arts training—with me to the stunts.
'I got to do all the stunts except for driving the car. Having Shawn as my guide was amazing and I am grateful to him for believing in me.'

Strictly winner opens up about finding 'strength' after sibling's suicide

Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba has bravely spoken about losing his sibling to suicide. The TV presenter, who won the BBC dance show in 2016 with Joanne Clifton, was rocked by the devastating news of Lola's death in April. Ore, who admits it's been 'a really difficult year' for his family, has now shifted his outlook on life, with the terrible tragedy reminding him that 'we don't know when our last day is'. Appearing on the John Reynolds' Extraordinary Life Stories podcast, the former CBBC presenter began: 'I guess we have been through a really difficult year as a family, and I was very ready for that to kick off a new chapter in my life, and it did. 'I'm grateful to him (Dad) for everything he gave us. I wasn't prepared to lose my sister.' Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. He lives in Nigeria, and it's rare they get to see one another, with Ore last documenting their reunion on Instagram in 2022 as he travelled over for the first time in three years post-pandemic. On his sister's death, he explained that they came out to loved ones in a note left behind. Being non-binary means a person does not identify as exclusively a man or a woman. 'She has been with me every day since. My sister is non-binary; they told us in their goodbye letter. They've been with me every day since, and what my sister did in choosing to find a peace in death that they couldn't find in life—that was strength. That was courage, and that was brave.' He continued: 'And having gone through the last four or five years of their life and hearing about their struggles physically and emotionally, when actually my sister did more living in the actual five years of their life than the previous 32, and still made a decision that they couldn't carry on living in this world. 'What they did for all of us in those last weeks, that has given me the strength every day, and my responsibility now is to carry that legacy because nothing is hard compared to what my sister went through.' On how his own focus has changed in the wake of his grief, Ore has now realised that there simply 'isn't time'. 'So I'm going to make the most of every single second I have left.' Ore added that he can't stress enough how much such a devastating event 'puts life into perspective'. 'None of this stuff matters, but you can wrestle what is really important back before it is too late, so that is what I'm doing now.' Ore's comments come after another sad blow in his personal life in recent months, as he announced in October that he was splitting from his wife. He and Portia met at Loughborough University in 2010 and married five years later, going on to welcome children Roman, seven, and Genie, four. In his statement announcing their separation, Ore confirmed that they officially parted ways earlier in 2024. 'We're so grateful for all the love you've shared with us both over the years,' he shared. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'And we want to thank you in advance for respecting our privacy as we navigated this difficult transition. We will be making no further comment. Be kind, always.' Ore has often spoken about his marriage to the TV researcher, who is the daughter of Nick 'Animal' Culmer, lead singer of the punk rock band Anti-Nowhere League, in the press. In 2021, he opened up about the challenges of parenting: 'My wife and I will be 10 years together next month, and we've never done anything more challenging than the last 12 months. There were tears, tantrums. 'Roman has enhanced our world more than we could have dreamt but there are times we have to remember that we love each other, and that's why he's here. He's been our guardian angel in lockdown, but he's also been the cause of a few little tiffs.' Ore confessed at the time that it was 'hard finding time for each other' but that 'communication is key'. 'We don't go to bed in an argument.' More Trending The West End star, who is remembered for Strictly performances such as his jive to Runaway Baby, has also long insisted that his wife was fully supportive of his stint on the programme, shutting down any worries of the so-called 'curse' striking. 'We were very fortunate, because actually my wife was the kind of woman who said, 'Can you get back in that rehearsal room with that wonderful woman, because you need to be a better dancer',' he previously joked. 'We were a year married, and thankfully we got through it.' I love glamming up my girl for nursery, trolls tell me her outfit is totally inappropriate but I don't see the issue

The mum explained her daughter 'loves the nail shop' NO KIDDING I love glamming up my girl for nursery, trolls tell me her outfit is totally inappropriate but I don't see the issue Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SENDING your little one for their first day at the nursery or school is a huge milestone for millions of parents. But now one mum has come under fire after sharing the outfit her daughter was wearing ahead of the big day. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 The mum sparked fury after she showed off her daughter's outfit for the first day of nursery Credit: TikTok/@kytoyouu 2 The little girl, who is between the ages of four and five, was also rocking a brand new mani covered in gems Credit: TikTok/@kytoyouu The mother, only known as @kytoyouu, took to TikTok to share the proud moment - however, the video quickly sparked a fierce reaction. In the now-viral video, the little girl, who is between the ages of four and five, could be seen showing off her freshly-done manicure. The glam mani included French tips, as well as a huge variety of gems glued on top of the nails. All chuffed with her brand new manicure, the girl then struck her best poses, as she modelled her clothes. Giving the viewers an adorable spin, the excited child showed off her baby blue button-up shirt which was teamed up with beige flares. Matching the flares was also a mega bow tie, as well as two scrunchies on her wrist. ''Kindergarten, please be kind to my baby,'' the mum said in the video. But while the little girl looked adorable, the clip soon went viral for all the wrong reasons, amassing more than 2.8million views. As over 10,000 people flooded to comments to share their thoughts, critics slammed the mother and dubbed the outfit 'inappropriate'. One viewer said: ''dress her appropriately to her age.. it's not that difficult.'' Mums slam Molly-Mae after she refuses to discipline Bambi for biting a child & accuse her of using toddler as 'ragebait' Someone else agreed, writing: ''🤨 Acrylics or even press ons in kindergarten is crazy. ''Just messing up that baby nail beds & they not even fully developed. ''Kids play & are rough so I hope she don't hit them nails on something.'' What age can you take kid to get their nails done? MUMS have sparked controversy after allowing their kids to get acrylic nails. But just how old do they have to be to be allowed to get them done legally. According to the National Occupational Standards, anyone under the age of 16 has to be accompanied by an adult. They also need written consent from a parents or guardian. It's also a good idea to check that the salon you're planning to go to - just to ask if they offer services to children. A horrified social media user said: ''Can we PLEASE let kids be KIDS.'' ''She's going to school not the club,'' another critic mum-shamed the TikToker. Luckily for the mum - who said her daughter ''loves the nail shop'' - there were also a few of those who didn't see an issue with the outfit. A fellow mum wrote: ''Let a girl be a girl!! My daughter is 7 and I take her get her nails done! Anything that makes her happy!'' ''y'all act like she got stilletto nails and heels on, girl please,'' someone else hit back at the harsh critics.

Netflix's 10-part series already renewed for season two could be your next favourite show

The series has been given a second season from Netflix and the first isn't released A 10-part Netflix series already renewed for a second season could be your next favourite ever show on the platform. ‌ The entire series of Long Story Short will be released on August 22. There may be some who have never even heard of it but there are a few good reasons why you should become familiar. ‌ An article on Netflix's Tudum website has already declared that the show could become your next favourite. It is one of a number of new adult animated titles making their debut on the streamer in 2025. ‌ That includes the upcoming Haunted Hotel from a writer of Rick and Morty as well as Big Mouth creators' follow up called Mating Season. But what is Long Story Short? What is it about? Who was it created by? Why should you watch it and who is in the star studded voice cast? Here's everything you need to know. What is Long Story Short about? Long Story Short is an adult animated comedy series about one family, over time. What really sets the series apart is that these key events in the Schwooper family is not told chronologically. ‌ Instead, viewers will be taken back and forth through time, jumping through the years, following the siblings from childhood, through to teenage angst to adulthood and back again. There will even be stops to check in on moments from their parents' lives when they were younger. It will all help in chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises. Why should you watch Long Story Short? The show is created by writer, comedian and voice actor Raphael Matthew Bob-Waksberg. He is probably best known as the creator of celebrated Netflix series Bojack Horseman. ‌ Those who enjoyed that show should be well placed to fall in love with Long Story Short. The series is expected to carry just as much of an emotive punch, albeit without humanoid animal characters. Bojack Horseman ran for six seasons and followed a humanoid horse, once the star of a 90s sitcom and now lost in a sea of self-loathing and booze but decides it's time for a comeback. It boasts an overall rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has set a high expectation for Long Story Short, which it actually could well meet. As one fan said of Bojack: "One of the best animated shows with a spectacular story that makes you fall in love with every character and feel for them as they change. Sad to hear about the early cancellation but the ending doesn't suffer for it at all. Best show on Netflix" ‌ Who is in the cast of Long Story Short? Long Story Short's cast list is stacked with recognisable voices from film and television, predominately those known for their comedy chops. That includes the main cast and guest stars set to make brief appearances in the odd episode. All House star Lisa Edelstein Paul Reiser, known for roles in Stranger Things and Curb Your Enthusiasm Superstore and Mad Men actor Ben Feldman Abbi Jacobson who has previously appeared in Broad City, Disenchantment and No Good Deed. New Girl star Max Greenfield Angelique Cabral from Life in Pieces Nicole Byer who has appeared in Brooklyn Nine Nine, Invincible and hosted Netflix series Nailed It! ‌ Celebrated voice actress Michaela Dietz known for Steven Universe and Adventure Time along with Dave Franco are both recurring guest stars. Other notable stars set to make cameos include Scrubs star Zach Braff and Gina Rodriguez. Will there be a season two of Long Story Short? Amazingly, well ahead of its Netflix debut, the series has already been renewed by the company for a second season. This is quite the achievement for any show, as some of the most popular titles among fans still await to find out their fate. Talking to website Tudum about the news, show creator Bob-Waksberg cheekily said: "Wow! A Season 2?! And Season one hasn't even come out yet! It must be a REALLY good show. I can't wait to watch it when it premieres on Netflix, Friday, Aug. 22! Let's all do that!'
