Netflix's 10-part series already renewed for season two could be your next favourite show

The series has been given a second season from Netflix and the first isn't released
A 10-part Netflix series already renewed for a second season could be your next favourite ever show on the platform.

The entire series of Long Story Short will be released on August 22. There may be some who have never even heard of it but there are a few good reasons why you should become familiar.

An article on Netflix's Tudum website has already declared that the show could become your next favourite. It is one of a number of new adult animated titles making their debut on the streamer in 2025.

That includes the upcoming Haunted Hotel from a writer of Rick and Morty as well as Big Mouth creators' follow up called Mating Season.
But what is Long Story Short? What is it about? Who was it created by? Why should you watch it and who is in the star studded voice cast? Here's everything you need to know.
What is Long Story Short about?
Long Story Short is an adult animated comedy series about one family, over time. What really sets the series apart is that these key events in the Schwooper family is not told chronologically.

Instead, viewers will be taken back and forth through time, jumping through the years, following the siblings from childhood, through to teenage angst to adulthood and back again.
There will even be stops to check in on moments from their parents' lives when they were younger. It will all help in chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises.
Why should you watch Long Story Short?
The show is created by writer, comedian and voice actor Raphael Matthew Bob-Waksberg. He is probably best known as the creator of celebrated Netflix series Bojack Horseman.

Those who enjoyed that show should be well placed to fall in love with Long Story Short. The series is expected to carry just as much of an emotive punch, albeit without humanoid animal characters.
Bojack Horseman ran for six seasons and followed a humanoid horse, once the star of a 90s sitcom and now lost in a sea of self-loathing and booze but decides it's time for a comeback. It boasts an overall rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It has set a high expectation for Long Story Short, which it actually could well meet. As one fan said of Bojack: "One of the best animated shows with a spectacular story that makes you fall in love with every character and feel for them as they change. Sad to hear about the early cancellation but the ending doesn't suffer for it at all. Best show on Netflix"

Who is in the cast of Long Story Short?
Long Story Short's cast list is stacked with recognisable voices from film and television, predominately those known for their comedy chops. That includes the main cast and guest stars set to make brief appearances in the odd episode.
All
House star Lisa Edelstein
Paul Reiser, known for roles in Stranger Things and Curb Your Enthusiasm
Superstore and Mad Men actor Ben Feldman
Abbi Jacobson who has previously appeared in Broad City, Disenchantment and No Good Deed.
New Girl star Max Greenfield
Angelique Cabral from Life in Pieces
Nicole Byer who has appeared in Brooklyn Nine Nine, Invincible and hosted Netflix series Nailed It!

Celebrated voice actress Michaela Dietz known for Steven Universe and Adventure Time along with Dave Franco are both recurring guest stars. Other notable stars set to make cameos include Scrubs star Zach Braff and Gina Rodriguez.
Will there be a season two of Long Story Short?
Amazingly, well ahead of its Netflix debut, the series has already been renewed by the company for a second season. This is quite the achievement for any show, as some of the most popular titles among fans still await to find out their fate.
Talking to website Tudum about the news, show creator Bob-Waksberg cheekily said: "Wow! A Season 2?! And Season one hasn't even come out yet! It must be a REALLY good show. I can't wait to watch it when it premieres on Netflix, Friday, Aug. 22! Let's all do that!'

Scottish Love Is Blind star breaks down in tears saying ‘I don't want to be the villain'

Love Is Blind UK returned to Netflix today and viewers can expect emotional scenes just minutes into the first episode. Love Is Blind: UK season two official trailer *Warning - This article contains minor spoilers for Love Is Blind UK season 2 episode 5.* ‌ Netflix has released episodes 5-8 of Love Is Blind UK season 2 today, with the contestants preparing to leave the romantic beaches of Cyprus and return to reality. ‌ The second stage of the Netflix dating show also sees the newly-engaged couples break the news that they are getting married in just a few weeks to their friends and families. ‌ While plenty of drama unfolds over the course of the four episodes, viewers can already expect tears just minutes into episode 5. It comes after Dumfries nanny and makeup artist Katisha and Kent local health coach Javen admit they haven't said 'I love you' yet when hosts Matt and Emma Willis interview the couples before they return to the UK. In the episode before, viewers saw a tense confrontation between Katisha and Wigan contestant Kal, who questioned her decision to choose Javen as her fiance despite growing very close to another contestant, Demola. In episode 5, before the couples go on to try living together for the first time, Surrey cabin crew manager Ashleigh pulls Katisha aside to discuss how she's feeling about the situation. She asks Katisha about her conversation with Kal and whether Demola is still playing her mind. ‌ Katisha replies: 'He's obviously trying to gauge where I'm at and 'Am I playing both of them?' or whatever it is, but at the end of the day, he's not been in the pods with me. 'I feel like with Demola, yes of course we had a connection and we wouldn't have got as far as we did if we didn't,' she continues. 'And then I was like, it's not fair for me to say yes to someone that I'm not 100% sure about. ‌ 'I felt very at peace with Javen, I felt like he was going at a speed I was comfortable with.' 'My whole life has been…' she begins, before breaking down in tears. 'Sorry,' she sobs as Ashleigh hugs her and says: 'Don't cry! Don't worry.' ‌ Wiping her eyes, Katisha adds: 'I don't want to feel bad about Demola because it wasn't him; he didn't do anything wrong. It's more how I feel and how I need to feel I can be myself. ‌ 'I just need to feel calm because everything in my life is so chaotic,' she explains. When Ashleigh asks if Katisha is really ready to marry Javen, she insists that she is before asking: 'Do you have doubts about us? Why do you ask?' '(The reason) I ask is the fact that you are marrying this man for the rest of your life,' Ashleigh points out gently. ‌ Katisha then reflects: 'I just feel like we're gonna be fine. I did not take the decision lightly; I truly didn't. I don't want to be a villain. I came in for myself; I came in for me.' 'You are no villain babe,' Ashleigh reassures her, as the sun sets on their Cyprus holiday. Will Katisha and Javen be able to go the distance? Keep watching to find out. Love Is Blind UK season 2 episodes 1-8 are available to watch on Netflix now.
