Anakapalli
, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam districts for
International Yoga Day
on June 21.
It is noted that the authorities are making arrangements for 3.3 lakh people in 326 compartments along a 30.2 km stretch from RK Beach to Bheemili and its surroundings. Govt is attempting a World Record performance with a large number of participants. It's total target is around five lakh, including 58,000 from educational institutions, 2.5 lakh from Mepma, 50,000 from SERP, and 1.2 lakh from other districts.
According to govt sources, around 2,500 auto rickshaws, 200 Tata vehicles, and others, apart from the 3,200 RTC buses, were pressed into service for the Yoga Day celebrations. DGP Harish Kumar Gupta agreed that traffic and parking are major issues.
The police officials have finalised the route and action plan for traffic management with the recommendations of experts.
"We are taking full-fledged measures for a hassle-free journey for the participants and general public as well," the DGP stated.

, special secretary of health department, stated that officials should work in coordination to successfully organise International Yoga Day. This was discussed during the review meeting at the AU Convention Center's Command Control Center with special officers, police, and officials from various departments to discuss arrangements for buses, movement of people and students, parking, traffic, and sanitation.
Krishna Babu emphasised that officials should work together to ensure the safe transportation of attendees, including students, to the designated locations without traffic issues and safely return them to their destinations. He instructed that people coming from Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Paderu, and Anakapalli districts should be directly transported to their assigned blocks. Information about these blocks and parking details should be communicated to the relevant staff in advance.

The primary focus of the scheme is to promote tourism in the hinterlands of the state. Hence, currently, the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives shall only apply to all existing or upcoming homestay and B&B establishments in Sattari, Dharbandora, Sanguem, Bicholim, Ponda, Quepem, and Canacona. The reimbursement shall be made after a period of one year of operations of a homestay/B&B facility, following inspections by officials of the department of tourism.

RTC to celebrate 200 crore free tickets worth thousands of crores under Maha Lakshmi scheme: Ponnam Prabhakar
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) has crossed a remarkable milestone under the Maha Lakshmi Scheme with 200 crore free tickets availed by the women who have been provided free bus travel by the government. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that women have saved an estimated ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 per month so far, and the government has already released ₹6,700 crore to the RTC for reimbursement of this free travel. 'This has ensured that the scheme runs smoothly without causing financial burden on the RTC,' he said. He stated that the government remains committed to protecting the interests of RTC, ensuring passenger safety and promoting employee welfare. 'Through this scheme, we are not just providing free travel but opening up opportunities for women from rural and remote areas to pursue employment, education, healthcare and entrepreneurship in cities,' the Minister said. Launched on December 9, 2023, the day the Congress assumed power, the Maha Lakshmi scheme was an election promise implemented from the first day itself. To mark this historic occasion, the Minister has called for grand celebrations and special programmes on Wednesday, at 97 RTC depots and 341 bus stations across Telangana. Mr. Prabhakar said the government has planned inspirational speeches by women beneficiaries from various walks of life, including vegetable vendors, employees, teachers, students, businesswomen, patients and pilgrims, sharing their personal experiences of how free travel has positively impacted their lives. Five best drivers, conductors, traffic guides and security personnel at each depot will be felicitated for their exceptional service and contribution to the success of the scheme, he said. Historic recognition: 12 forts of 'Maratha Military Landscapes' on world heritage list; 7 sites fall under Mumbai Circle
MUMBAI: In a landmark moment for Maharashtra, 12 forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj were inscribed on the Unesco World Heritage List during the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris Friday. "The 'Maratha Military Landscapes' represent extraordinary fortification and military systems envisioned by the Maratha rulers," says the citation. While 11 on them are in Maharashtra, 12th is in TN. "It's the first of its kind of nomination from India - 12 forts as a serial nomination of a single site representing the great fortifications legacy of the Marathas," said Shikha Jain of DRONAH, a research and documentation organisation commissioned by the govt to prepare the dossier and presentations required for the Unesco process. "Two points that are truly significant in this inscription are the Maratha defence network expanding in three axes of forts, and Swarajya or self-rule of the Marathas that subsequently impacted India's freedom struggle," Jain told TOI from Paris.
