‘Fly, insect or hair in food' comment made by Gauri Khan's Torii co-founder after paneer controversy

Synopsis Gauri Khan's Mumbai restaurant, Torii, has been in the spotlight following remarks by co-founder Abhayraj Kohli about food hygiene. While emphasizing the restaurant's strict cleanliness and advanced food storage practices, Kohli admitted that minor incidents—like a fly, insect, or hair in food—are 'part and parcel of doing work' and can happen even at home. He added that very few restaurants in India possess this level of equipment, which is crucial for serving raw dishes safely. Despite the high standards, Kohli admitted that minor incidents, such as a fly, insect, or hair landing in food, can occur.
