The BBC soap is set to begin rebuilding one of its main families with the Brannings to take centre stage once more.
Max's comeback will also see his son Oscar arrive in Walford for the first time since 2017 - and he's being played by a brand new recast.
Actor Pierre Moullier will play the now teenage Oscar taking over the role from Charlee Hall who last appeared in eight years ago.
A source said: 'It is an exceptional bout of casting - Pierre looks more like a younger Jake than Jake did himself. It's uncanny.
'He's going to bring something new to Oscar and the character will definitely set the cat amongst the pigeons in the Square.'

Inside Dua Lipa's jaw-dropping Radical Optimism Tour as pop ‘goddess' wows fans ahead of sell out Wembley shows

DUA LIPA is riding the crest of an enormous wave – and there's no slowing down. After the singer flew me out to Amsterdam as the first British reporter to see her in action on the 80-date Radical Optimism world tour, I'm blown away by how much she's developed as a performer. Advertisement 6 Dua gets a lift on stage during her jaw-dropping performance Credit: Getty In each country so far, including And in Amsterdam she gets a rapturous reception after speaking to the sell-out audience in Dutch — which is no easy task. 'Amsterdam is like a second home for us,' 'We want them to come to the show and have a great time.' Advertisement READ MORE ON DUA LIPA It's impossible not to enjoy the two-hour set, in which New tracks from her latest No1 album, including Training Season, End Of An Era and Falling Forever, go down a storm with the crowd as Dua whips into classics such as One Kiss and Be The One. By playing venues this size — more than 18,000 are at the Amsterdam show — Dua could be forgiven for putting all the focus on to her stage performance. But at every gig she goes into the audience to speak to her fans. Advertisement Most read in Bizarre Breaking One sobbing boy, Mattice, can't believe his luck as Dua leans in for a hug, prompting her to joke: 'Please don't cry, we've only just started the show. It's not that bad is it?' Also among the lucky few are a couple due to marry in the next two days, and a superfan wearing a shark's head in a nod to the Radical Optimism album's artwork — with Dua saying as he takes it off: 'Oh, you're cute.' 'Shaken' Dua Lipa in terrifying security scare after fans sneak into her hotel and are found outside her bedroom Her good humour continues and after losing an impromptu game of truth or dare, she picks the latter and is asked to perform the original dance from One Kiss, which has become pop legend. Smiling for the cameras that beam her picture around the arena, Dua dutifully carries off the move and the crowd, who have been right behind her from day one, go absolutely bananas. Advertisement Back on stage, she then goes into Scared To Be Lonely in a tribute to her collaborator, DJ Martin Garrix, who is also watching in the crowd, before nailing Physical, Hallucinate and Illusion. The arena is transformed into a rave, with the audience hooked on every word, before Dua brings the focus on to her powerful vocals. 'You're cute' She makes light work of Be The One and Anything For Love — which is even more impressive given that she has spent 90 minutes going through physically demanding choreography while barely stopping for a break. The energy then fires back up to boiling point for an insanely good four-song encore of New Rules, Dance The Night, Don't Start Now and Houdini, with Dua's high- intensity just as impressive as at the start of the evening. Advertisement She has concerts in Italy and The four dates will see her perform to more than 250,000 fans. It is an incredible comparison when you think that the first Wembley show will take place 3,000 days after her first ever live appearance in the capital, at the 250- capacity Oslo Hackney venue in East London. By the time Dua has finished the UK leg of the tour — before moving on to the US — she will have performed to almost one million people. Advertisement Rising pop stars should take note . . . And how survive the Earth so long?' It is expected to be the first song from her next album, which is impressive given it has only been ten months since her last one came out. Advertisement When she announced the title, many fans believed it would be about actor Barry Keoghan, who she dated for a year until December. But in a caption on Instagram, she said she wrote the track shortly after completing work on Short n' Sweet, at which time she was still in love with Barry. Sabrina said: 'Not only was it fun to write, but this song became to me something I can look back on, that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.' In another nod to Shawn, who is very close to his parents – while Barry's mum died when he was 12 – she sings: 'I choose to blame your mom.' Advertisement I doubt Mrs Mendes will be too pleased. 'I've been locked up in the studio for quite some time working my behind off on new music, and I'm thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans, starting with Type Dangerous.' OASIS ARE ROTTEN FOR JOHN 6 John Lydon won't be going to an Oasis reunion show Credit: Getty SEX PISTOLS rocker John Lydon says he's probably one of the only British music stars who'll be giving the Oasis reunion a wide berth. When I asked if he would be heading down to one of the shows, the singer, aka Johnny Rotten, told me: 'No. They're my mates but I hate their music. Advertisement 'It's very difficult for me to go to other people's gigs. People don't leave me alone and let me enjoy myself. 'I knocked it on the head a few years ago. I love dancing, you're enjoying yourself and some a***hole will stand right in front of you and waffle banal nonsense which is distracting you from the point and purpose.' Speaking to me from his tour of the UK with his band Public Image LTD, he added: 'I love Noel, because he just says it like it is. 'Him and Liam make me laugh when they do interviews because they are so witty and on it in a working class, quick-as-you can way.' The title has been given to her as she's agreed to perform on the maiden voyage in September, when it will make its debut in Orlando. And Diana will be fresh from her UK tour, which starts this month. Advertisement The Chain Reaction singer said: 'I've always felt a deep connection to the ocean and the magic it represents – peace, adventure and awe. 'When Royal Caribbean reached out to invite me to be the godmother of Star of the Seas, I knew it was something truly special.' WELL done to the brilliant Anna Lapwood after her new album Firedove went straight to the top of the Classical Album Official Charts. Love Island casting comes under fire AGAIN after it's revealed star had TikTok account where he ‘secretly films women'

AXED Love Island hunk Kyle Ashman took part in 'misogynistic' videos with a pal where they secretly filmed women. 3 Kyle was axed from the show earlier this week Credit: Instagram Now it has been revealed that he had a joint TikTok and YouTube page with a friend called Fin Musker. Whilst the joint pages have been wiped of content, a source has told The Sun that the videos involved them 'picking up girls and filming them without knowledge'. The source added that the videos 'displayed misogynistic behaviour towards women'. Some content still online shows Fin and Kyle out on the town, kissing women and speaking to them in bars. READ MORE ON LOVE ISLAND When approached about the videos, Kyle did not wish to comment. It raises further question marks about ITV's vetting process for its reality shows. Earlier this week Kyle was sent packing from Majorca after The Sun alerted show bosses that he had been arrested on suspicion of a machete attack and was only cleared by police last month - meaning he would've been in discussion with authorities whilst auditioning for Love Island. ITV chiefs sent him home from Most read in Love Island A source said: 'All of the online content had been cleared so may not have come up on surface level checks, but for this kind of show far deeper trawls should be in place. 'ITV has steered clear of OnlyFans stars in the past and Kyle's link to one - particularly taking part in joint content of a misogynistic nature - is surely not in keeping with Love Island being a family show.' Love Island's Kyle Ashman reveals he wants show return as Casa Amor hunk after being axed over machete attack on dad ITV declined to comment. Sources said the channel was unaware of the incident and he was not flagged as part of contestant checks. The victim, 38, nearly lost his arm. He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept in for around two weeks. Another mourner was glassed, one struck with a metal pole, and two people run over by a car during the 15 minutes of terror at a social club. Ashman, who lives in the town, was one of two men to be nicked on suspicion of affray then bailed. Police confirmed that after the matter had been investigated the pair were released with no further action only last month. Speaking after he was axed from the show, he said: "I'm not a bad guy, honestly. I'm a normal guy from a normal place. An opportunity arose to find love and I grabbed it with both hands, and it's been taken away from me. "I've seen the support pages and, who knows, maybe I'll get the chance to go on Casa Amor or as a bombshell, go back in and show you who I really am. Show you I'm not a bad guy. We'll see." 3 He was quizzed by cops over a machete attack that happened in February Credit: Instagram/@kyleashmantr 3 He was released without charge and insists he's a normal guy Credit: Instagram Troubled history of telly hit By Jonathan Kanengoni LOVE Island has been hit by a string of controversies since it first aired in 2015. Malia Arkian lasted just three hours before she was marched out by security in its second year after pushing co-contestant Kady McDermott for spilling wine on her. Sherif Lanre was booted off after nine days in 2019. He had made a vile joke after accidentally kicking fan fave Molly-Mae Hague in the crotch during a play fight. In the same year Women's Aid complained of contestant Joe Garratt's 'abusive' behaviour towards on-screen partner Lucie Donlan. She broke down in tears after he told her to stay away from the other lads. Ollie Williams left after three days in 2020 when he realised he still had feelings for his ex. But his exit came amid mounting pressure on bosses to remove him after pictures of him allegedly trophy hunting came to light. Salesman Haris Namani was dumped in 2023 after The Sun revealed footage of him in a street brawl. The show has also been accused of failing to look after islanders' mental health when filming stops. Sophie Gradon took her own life, aged 32, two years after she appeared on Love Island 2016. And Mike Thalassitis's suicide in 2019, at 26, prompted calls for better after-care by reality shows. In 2022, watchdog Ofcom received 3,600 complaints in a week over alleged misogynistic behaviour by some of the male contestants. And this year it received thousands of complaints about All Stars contestant Elma Pazar's bullying of Ekin- Su Culculoglu during a row.
