Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi are one of the most adorable couples and there is no doubt about it. Recently, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture with the lyricist. In the photo, Shabana was seen taking a selfie with Akhtar, who not only looked disinterested but was busy writing something. While Shabana looked into the camera, Javed was engrossed in his work.
In the caption of her post, Shabana playfully wrote, 'The writer writes oblivious to the scenic beauty, but there is peace and serenity in this photo". Check it out here:
Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar have been married for over 40 years now. They tied the knot in 1984. Prior to Shabana, Javed was married to screenwriter Honey Irani. He has two children from her – actor, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar.
In one of her previous interviews, Shabana shared if her definition of love and equation with Javed has changed in these 40 years. The veteran actress mentioned that she was 'never romantic' and added that her relationship with Javed has evolved into friendship in this time.
'I was never a romantic, to begin with. I find that young girls, maybe today it has changed today, but young girls during my era had great ideas about romance. It would be fed on the fairytales, storybooks, and all the little cartoon books they would read. But I was never like that because I saw my parents' marriage, which started with a lot of romance and then evolved into friendship. So what I have valued greatly is friendship," Shabana told Filmfare.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Shabana Azmi was recently seen in the web series Dabba Cartel. Released in February 2025, the show also stars Anjali Anand, Shalini Pandey and Jyothika in key roles. It is currently streaming on Netflix.

Kunal Kamra found himself in the midst of a fresh controversy over his comments against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in March. Actor Swara Bhasker has now shown her support for the stand-up comedian with a new Instagram post, where she took a fresh dig at the viral call made by a Shiv Sena supporter threatening Kunal when he said that he is in Tamil Nadu. Swara shared a pair of pictures in which she was seen with Kunal. The two of them were seen in a light-hearted mood as they smiled in the pictures. Both of them also twinned in white outfits. 'Tamil Nadu kaise pahuchega bhai (How will you reach Tamil Nadu)?' was written on the picture, a direct reference to how Kunal responded to the threats received in the call. But while solving the case, he is a dangerous police guy. That's why his character gets affected," he added.
