Former Georgia QB Matthew Stafford makes NFL top 100
Stafford absolutely deserved this award. In his age-36 season, Stafford threw for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns, leading the Los Angeles Rams on five game-winning drives.
He brought the Rams to a 10-7 record and NFC West title. After that, the Rams upset the 14-3 Minnesota Vikings in the wild card round and came within one play of defeating the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round. He was playing through an injury in that game too.
Stafford comes down from ranking No. 42 last year, but he enters the list for the eighth time in his career, tying former Auburn/Florida quarterback Cam Newton and former Ole Miss quarterback Phillip Rivers for the most top 100 selections of any former SEC quarterback in NFL history.
Matthew Stafford makes the NFL 100
He also ties with wide receiver A.J. Green for the most top 100 selections for any former Georgia Bulldog player.
There have already been two Georgia Bulldogs selected in the NFL's top 100. Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey comes in at No. 100 (somewhat lower than people expected), while Bills running back James Cook comes in at No. 89. However, with guys like Jalen Carter, Roquan Smith, and Brock Bowers still awaiting their ranking, Georgia fans have more to look forward to in the future.

Alex Highsmith being evaluated for a groin injury
Steelers edge rusher Alex Highsmith could miss some time with a groin injury. Highsmith left Sunday's practice after getting hurt during a drill. Head coach Mike Tomlin said it was the only new injury in the session and that Highsmith is going to be checked out by medical personnel. "Alex Highsmith didn't finish," Tomlin said, via the team's website. "Don't know the severity of it. In the one-on-one pass rush period, he stopped. He said maybe he felt his groin. But we'll evaluate it, and I'll be more definitive next time we talk, not only about the injury but the significance of it." Highsmith dealt with groin injuries last season and missed six games. He had 45 tackles, six sacks and a forced fumble when he was healthy enough to play.

Predicting a Steelers trade package for Cowboys' Micah Parsons after official request
Micah Parsons' trade request has sparked rumors and speculation galore — but his viral Steelers comments from several months ago are the true hidden gem. It begs the question: could Pittsburgh actually acquire the superstar defender? Although it remains to be seen if the Cowboys will honor Parsons' request, if the Steelers were to offer a trade package, they'd need to send Dallas his replacement while also offloading a high contract — which is where EDGE Alex Highsmith comes into play. If the Steelers dealt Highsmith and his cap hits over the next three seasons of $18.6 million, $20.1 million, and $21.1 million, they could theoretically pay Parsons the top edge rusher money he's looking for — but may need to offer the Cowboys some additional premium draft picks as well. Here is a look at a completely hypothetical trade package that sends the Cowboys' star edge rusher to a destination he admittedly prefers: Steelers receive: EDGE Micah Parsons Cowboys receive: EDGE Alex Highsmith 2026 second-round pick 2027 second-round pick 2027 seventh-round pick The price to pay is undoubtedly steep — but there's no question the Steelers would boast an even more devastating pass rush with All-Pro DT Cameron Heyward on the interior and the edge rush duo of Parsons and former 2021 Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt. For up-to-date Steelers coverage, follow us on X @TheSteelersWire and give our Facebook page a like.
