Harry Just Got 1 Step Closer to Moving Back to the UK After Meghan Called It a ‘Problem' For Them to Return

Yahoo17-07-2025
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the British royal family and moved to the US, they likely didn't imagine not coming back to the UK. Prince Harry lived his entire life in the UK before, and though he is no longer a working royal, he still has deep ties to the country he was born in. Add to that his father, King Charles' illness, and the recent reports that the two are closer to reconciliation than ever, and it's fair to wonder if Harry could or would want to move back to the UK.
Recent reports indicate the Prince is 'very likely' to enroll his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in a UK school, despite his wife's objections to the idea. This is reportedly related to the fact that he wants to keep the door open for his kids to stay in the UK if they so wish.

Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles, said that Harry is 'quite keen' for his children to experience British schooling in an interview with Study Dog, per Hello! 'It's very likely and completely possible,' he said. But of course, that might all depend on how those reconciliation talks go.
'If they have their younger education in America, I'm sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,' he added. 'But then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.'
Markle, however, had previously said in a 2022 interview with The Cut, that she would not want Archie to go to school in the UK, as she wouldn't be able to drop him off and pick him up at school without having to deal with paparazzi. 'Sorry,' Meghan said, per Hello! 'I have a problem with that. That doesn't make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child.'
This comes after last month, the Guardian reported that Prince Harry wanted his kids to have the opportunity to become working royals in the future if they wanted. The outlet said, 'Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH [His/Her Royal Highness] titles for his children so that when they grow older, they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life.'
When that was reported, however, The Daily Beast reported that a source close to Prince William dismissed the idea. 'William obviously isn't going to hire Archie and Lilibet,' the source said. 'This is just trolling on the part of Harry and Meghan. … The idea that somehow having a vestigial HRH as a baby later entitles you to be a working royal is beyond parody, even for them.'
All of these reports happened before Prince Harry and King Charles' aides met last week in what is believed to be the first step to resolve the feud between them. 'There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,' said a source. 'There was no formal agenda, just casual drinks. There were things both sides wanted to talk about.'
If there can really be a reconciliation, that might make the chances of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet attending school in the UK grow exponentially higher. For now, we will just have to wait and see.

‘Love Island USA' Achieves Its Biggest Week Ever With 1.9 Billion Minutes Watched, Becoming Nielsen's No. 1 Most-Streamed Show of the Week for the First Time

'Love Island USA' achieved its best viewership ever during the week of July 7-13, reaching 1.9 billion minutes watched. That total marked not only a series high for the Peacock reality dating series, but the first time any Peacock show has ever reached the No. 1 position on Nielsen's weekly streaming rankings. Nielsen measures U.S. television screens alone, meaning viewership in other countries and on mobile devices is not included in this tally. Additionally, it's important to note that Nielsen combines all viewership of a show into one total rather than separating totals by season, meaning that any viewership of Seasons 1-6 would also be accounted for within the week's 1.9 billion minutes. Still, it's presumable that the vast majority of viewership would have come from the currently airing season. Nielsen also notes that throughout the run of Season 7, which premiered on June 3 and concluded on July 13, 'Love Island USA' accrued a total of 8.8 billion minutes watched, with 54% of that viewership coming from adults age 18-34. That makes it the biggest show among adults under 35 by a 'significant margin,' per Nielsen. Swansea City's Snoop Dogg and Luka Modric boost ahead of Middlesbrough opener

ALAN Sheehan has described the 'buzz' since Snoop Dogg became a Swansea co-owner and explained how the Championship club plan to build on the feel-good factor. The 53-year-old American rapper joined a growing list of celebrity investors in British football last month by becoming part of a Swansea ownership group that already included Croatia midfield great Luka Modric. Multi award-winning Snoop said Swansea's 'underdog' story 'really struck a chord with me' and his vast following on social media – 89 million on Instagram and 20.5 million on X – quickly learned about the Welsh club and his love for Joe's ice cream in the city. 'To have Snoop and Luka on board is a massive benefit,' Swansea boss Sheehan said ahead of Saturday's league opener at Middlesbrough. 'There is a buzz, obviously. As a football club you have to become more appealing commercially, to be more competitive, and appeal to the wider nation. 'It's different to how it was maybe when I was a player, but I understand why, and I totally welcome it. 'Rome wasn't built in a day, but there are big plans for the football club. 'It's about building strong foundations and building that character and resilience within the football club.' The two Welsh clubs are Championship rivals this season after Wrexham became the first team in the top five tiers of English football to win three successive promotions. A docu-series tracking life at Swansea, on similar lines to the award-winning FX show 'Welcome to Wrexham', is understood to be already in the pipeline. Asked if Swansea – who were relegated in 2018 after seven seasons in the Premier League – were the 'new' Wrexham, Sheehan said: 'No, we're Swansea. We're not new anything. 'Now they're in our division, I suppose, it becomes more there now (rivalry), but we don't play them until December. So I won't really be speaking about them until December.' Modric – who joined the board in April following a takeover led by American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen six months earlier – was unveiled as an AC Milan player on Monday after his trophy-littered 13-year spell at Real Madrid ended this summer. The 39-year-old has played his part in Sheehan's summer recruitment strategy, actively persuading players to join the Welsh club. 'Obviously, his transfer situation… he was unavailable to come here,' smiled Sheehan. 'We've had a few text messages and he's involved. 'Luka has spoke to some players, passed on his knowledge, what he knows about the football club, and the plans that we have for it. 'Snoop and Luka are very invested in the club. They care, they speak through the ownership and the ownership are very good to us.' So will Grammy-nominated Snoop soon be swapping California for Swansea to watch a game? 'I believe so,' said Sheehan. 'But I'm not sure which game yet. It would be very naive and narrow-minded to think two very successful people in what they do could not help us. 'Successful people have a lot in common – a work ethic, a grit, a determination to get where they want to get to. So with Snoop, Luka and the ownership there is a lot of positivity around the football club.'

Darth Vader's Original Lightsaber From STAR WARS is Hitting Auction For $1 to $3 Million — GeekTyrant

If you've ever dreamed of wielding Darth Vader's actual lightsaber, now's your chance, assuming you've got a few million dollars lying around. The prop used by the Dark Lord of the Sith himself is a true piece of cinematic history. According to the listing on the lightsaber hilt on sale was screen-used in the climactic battles that defined the original trilogy and the estimated price is between $1 million and $3 million. The auction description notes the familiar Vader hilt, complete with an allen bolt sticking out of the top where a dueling blade would have been attached for filming. 'The prop is made from a British press camera flash handle,' the listing explains. 'It was converted to a lightsaber prop with the addition of dressing components such as plastic grips, small electrical wires and a circuit board with magnifying bubbles from a calculator.' This legendary artifact has been in a private collection for decades and is now surfacing at public auction for the first time. Its authenticity has been confirmed by comparing it to the films, with the listing stating that 'specific damage to the body' matches what's seen on-screen. 'Genuine lightsaber props from the original trilogy are incredibly rare,' the site emphasizes. 'This is believed to be the only hero lightsaber prop with verifiable screen-use to ever be offered at public auction. It is one of the rarest and most sought after 'grail' Star Wars props in existence.' For a bit of context, the original Star Wars film had a production budget of just $11 million. Now, a single prop from that era might fetch nearly a third of that. Also, let's not forget the badass artistry that made this lightsaber so iconic. Back in the pre-CGI days, the glowing blades were made using metal rods wrapped in reflective tape, with the shimmering effect painstakingly rotoscoped into each frame by animators, and paired with those legendary sound effects in post. For those of us who aren't freakin' rich, we'll have to settle for our replicas.
