
Telangana governor takes holy dip at Kaleshwaram; massive pilgrim turnout at Saraswati Pushkaralu
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma visited the Saraswati Pushkaralu Ghat and took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, where the rivers Godavari, Pranahita, and Saraswati are believed to converge. He also offered special prayers and performed spiritual rituals at the revered site. Later, the Governor visited the Kaleshwara Mukteeshwara Swamy temple and offered prayers to Lord Shiva.
With the festival nearing its conclusion, lakhs of pilgrims have been congregating at the Pushkar Ghats to take part in the sacred ritual bath. After the holy dip at Triveni Sangam, devotees headed to the Mukteeshwara Swamy temple for darshan. The temple echoed with devotional chants as thousands of pilgrims sought divine blessings.
The 12-day event is set to conclude on Monday. In anticipation of the large crowds on the final day, District Collector Rahul Sharma has been personally supervising arrangements. He has been regularly reviewing the preparations, guiding officials, and ensuring smooth transportation and other facilities for the visiting devotees.
On Sunday alone, an estimated 3 lakh pilgrims visited the Pushkar Ghats. Police and revenue authorities deployed extensive manpower to manage the crowd and maintain order in the temple and ghat areas.

Ujjaini Mahakali temple in Secunderabad gears up for Lashkar Bonalu
HYDERABAD: To ensure the smooth conduct of Lashkar Bonalu celebrations, 45 CCTV cameras have been installed, and a command control room has been set up at the Mahankali police station. TGSRTC to operate over 170 special buses for Bonalu Hyderabad: In view of the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu celebrations, TGSRTC has arranged special bus services on July 13 and 14 for devotees. Over 170 special buses will be operated from various key locations to Secunderabad. Buses will ply from MGBS, Kachiguda Railway Station, Jubilee Bus Stand, Charminar, Mehdipatnam, Nampally, Old Alwal, Sainikpuri, Sanathnagar, Borabanda, Patancheru, and other locations. Devotees can reach out to communication centres set up at Rathifile Bus Station (9959226154) and Koti Bus Stand (9959226160) for assistance.

Raj Bhavan hosts Miss World 2025 winners as Telangana celebrates Formation Day with cultural splendour
The stately Raj Bhavan transformed into a vibrant celebration venue on Monday evening as Telangana marked its Formation Day with a special honour, the presence of the recently crowned Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri and continental winners of the global beauty pageant. The evening blended tradition and international glamour, as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Governor Jishnu Dev Varma welcomed the beauty queens who have spent the past month touring the State. The gathering, held over high tea, was steeped in Telangana's cultural spirit, with the guests of honour receiving traditional performances that showcased the region's artistic diversity. The ceremony began with each of the contestants invited to share their reflections on their month-long stay in the State. representing Thailand, expressed deep gratitude for the hospitality extended by Telangana and spoke fondly of her experience. 'From the very first step in Telangana, I felt the warmth, not just from the sun, but from people's smiles. To me, Telangana is a place where tradition blends beautifully with innovation. It is a State that represents beauty, progress and world-class healthcare, which is close to my heart.' Continental winner from Africa Miss Ethiopia Hasset Dereje, the first runner-up, echoed the sentiment, describing Telangana as her home for the past month. Second runner-up and Continental winner from Europe Miss Poland Maja Klajda, visiting India for the first time, called the experience unforgettable. Over 23 lakh took holy dip during Saraswati Pushkaralu
Hyderabad: Over 23 lakh people had a sacred bath during the Saraswati Pushkaralu, which ended on Monday at Kaleshwaram in Bhupalpally disrtict. More than one lakh people had a bath at the Triveni Sangam in Kaleshwaram on each of the 12 days with pilgrim rush peaking during the weekends. Endowment department officials and others heaved a sigh of relief as the event passed off without any untoward incident. The state government had put in place massive arrangements to ensure the success of the Pushkaralu. To bring it on par with the Kumbh Mela, the government allocated Rs 35 crore exclusively for the event. Incidentally, a team of officials, led by Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyar, had visited Prayagraj for a first-hand feel of the arrangements. This helped the state administration to come up with a meticulous planning, said a senior official from the endowments department. The official said that Pushkaralu started on a grand note with around one lakh taking a bath on the first day on May 15. The rush of pilgrims increased thereafter with the weekends drawing two to 3.5 lakh people. There was a traffic jam of over 20 km on the weekends. The official said that the Harati program on the banks of the river was a major attraction during the Pushkaralu. Artists from Kashi were specifically roped in for the Harati program, which was watched by around 47,000, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Meanwhile, the pilgrims also visited the Sri Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy temple. Approximately, 2.68 lakh laddus were distributed by the temple authorities, who also arranged for medical camps, which was taken advantage of by around 80, 000 people. The official informed that among the other works, sanitation and hygiene were given priority. Over 950 sanitation workers were deployed for cleaning the premises near the river, while about 33 NDRF and 66 SDRF personnel, 100 swimmers and 35 Singareni rescue team personnel were also deployed at the bathing ghats to prevent instances of drowning. Also manning the area were around 1600 police personnel.
