Emily Murphy nets last-gasp winner as Ireland fight back to beat Turkey
Murphy's 89th-minute winner, which came after Busem Seker's own goal had cancelled out Kader Hancar's opener at the Esenler Stadium sent Ireland into Tuesday night's home clash with group leaders Slovenia just three points adrift.

After a bright start by Ireland, it was the hosts who mustered the first attempt on goal with 11 minutes gone when central defender Sejde Abrahamsson surged upfield and tested keeper Courtney Brosnan from a tight angle.
Lucy Quinn forced a first save of the game from Selda Akgoz with a dipping long-range effort, but the game burst into life as the half-time whistle approached, Brosnan saving from Miray Cin before Akgoz had to be at her best to keep out Katie McCabe's curled attempt with Arsenal's Champions League winner seeing her half-volley from the resulting corner blocked on the line.
However, it was Turkey who took the lead three minutes after the restart when Hancar turned the ball into Ilayda Civelek's run and then surged into the box to convert her cross.
The visitors were level with 10 minutes remaining when Seker headed a Megan Campbell long throw into her own goal, and they won it at the death, Murphy pouncing on Abrahamsson's slip to snatch the points.

Family who turned down six emergency accommodation offers lose court bid against Clare Co Council
A family who turned down six offers of houses by Clare Co Council have failed in their High Court bid to force the council to provide them with emergency accommodation. Ms Justice Marguerite Bolger ruled that Clare Co Council had lawfully discharged its statutory duties in relation to the provision of emergency accommodation to the family, including seven children. Advertisement The judge further stated that the family are not entitled to require the Council to offer them emergency accommodation from housing stock earmarked for social housing. Martina Sherlock Mongans and her seven children, who are members of the Travelling Community had brought proceedings against Clare Co Council, the Minister for Housing, Ireland and Attorney General asserting that they should be allocated emergency accommodation in a three bedroom house which is part of the Council's social housing stock. The family now live in a single room in a relative's house. 'Undoubtedly the situation in which they are currently living in one room in a relation's house is appalling. However, where I have found that the Council acted reasonably and lawfully in the six separate offers of emergency accommodation made to them, I cannot find their circumstances to be so exceptional as to merit a departure from the normal rules or an interference by this court in the exercise of the Council's discretion,' the judge said. Advertisement The family were evicted from their rented Council house in Lahinch, Co Clare in July 2024 and were deemed homeless by Clare Co Council with hotel accommodation arranged for a number of weeks from July 31st, 2024. The judge, setting out the background to the case said that since August 2024, six different own door accommodations have been offered as emergency accommodation and had been refused for various reasons including concerns about safety, suitability and distance from the children's schools. Ms Justice Bolger said it is surprising that this 'entirely unsatisfactory arrangement prevails in preference to the six houses offered to the family,' but she said perhaps this is indicative of how strongly the family feel about the conditions and location of each of the houses offered. The judge said the family had not established any cause of action or grounds for leave against the State parties. The judge said she was satisfied that Clare Co Council assessed the particular needs of the family in a manner that was reasonable, rational and lawful in offering them six of the accommodations. Trainer Edward O'Grady dies aged 75
Trainer Edward O'Grady has died at the age of Tipperary native was a dominant figure in Irish National Hunt racing in the late 1970s and won four domestic training titles between 1977 and saddled 18 winners at the Cheltenham festival, the first of which was Mr Midland in the 1974 National Hunt the best remembered of those triumphs was Golden Cygnet's brilliant run in the 1978 Supreme Novices' Hurdle before the horse was fatally injured in the Scottish Champion Hurdle the following month.O'Grady's final winner was Our Soldier at Bellewstown this month.A statement released by his family through Horse Racing Ireland read: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Edward O'Grady, who passed away peacefully [Sunday] evening at St James's Hospital, surrounded by his family."Edward was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also one of the most respected and successful racehorse trainers of his generation."Over the course of an extraordinary career that spanned more than five decades, Edward trained just shy of 1,700 winners under rules. His name became synonymous with Irish National Hunt racing, and he was a formidable force at Cheltenham and across the racing world."
