‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' Is Nerfing Its Most Game-Breaking Build
Expedition 33
Sandfall
You do not often see heavy nerfs in single player, PvE only games, but sometimes things get a little too crazy, and something has to be done. That's currently happening with the beloved GOTY contender Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which has announced it will be addressing its problem child, Maelle.
Sandfall has revealed that it will be nerfing an aspect of the most popular, strongest Maelle build that involves the high-damage move Stendhal and stacking a zillion buffs to rack up anywhere from 20 million to 3 billion damage in one hit, depending on how it's set up. With the hardest phase of the hardest boss of the game able to be one-shot with 50-60 million in damage, this erases the entire endgame's challenge if you choose to use it. I wrote up the build literally yesterday, but it's being nerfed tomorrow in a new series of hotfixes.
I mean, yes, this is justified. We don't even know how strong this nerf is and cutting it down to 95% of what it was still could be overpowered. The goal, Sandfall says, is to make it in line with other big damage, single-hit skills, rather than be 1000% better than everything else.
Players are still discovering more and more builds for all characters every day, and even perusing YouTube, you can see millions in damage from other characters from Sciel to Verso. But millions is not 50 million or 3 billion, and it's not clear if anything close to Maelle's nuke can be drafted in the game with other characters at this point. But I've played these games long enough to know that someone is probably going to figure other things out.
Expedition 33
Sandfall
Again, Maelle is no doubt still going to be strong. Even post-nerf Stendhal may still be overpowered. But you will be surprised how little even a few million damage can move at least some of the health bars really late in the game, and it seems you are going to have to actually…play. Well, I won't because I just beat everything with Maelle. I mean, it was just too tempting, I'm sorry. I'll start New Game+ and do it legally, I promise.
So yes, you have one more day of this which may not be enough to fully craft the build depending on where you are, but this is entirely justified so I don't think players can be all that mad about it.

This Is Why Doctor Who Fans Aren't All Convinced That Billie Piper Is Really The New Doctor
Doctor Who fans across the world were gagged on Saturday night when Billie Piper made an unexpected return to the franchise. After weeks of speculation about whether Ncuti Gatwa's time as The Doctor was coming to an end in the not-too-distant future, the most recent finale saw his character regenerating, after two seasons at the helm of the Tardis. What few could have foreseen would be that his character would regenerate into what appears to be a new incarnation of The Doctor, played by Billie Piper. Billie Piper IS the new Doctor 💙💫 # — Andrew McBride (@andrewmcb) May 31, 2025 Billie, of course, already has a long history with Doctor Who, starring in the role of Rose Tyler when the reboot first began airing 20 years ago. The Olivier winner's unexpected appearance led to a wide array of pretty much every reaction possible on social media, and a slew of headlines hailing her arrival as The Sixteenth Doctor. However, other fans are not convinced it's as simple as that. At the end of the first season of the Doctor Who revival, Rose ended up absorbing the heart of Tardis, becoming a new omniscient entity known as 'Bad Wolf'. Billie most recently appeared in Doctor Who for its 50th anniversary special, this time playing a different being altogether, known as 'The Moment'. So, given the fact that Billie has repeatedly popped up in the long-running sci-fi saga as a variety of different entities – not everyone in the Whovian fandom believes that her latest appearance necessarily means she's the new Doctor. Tellingly, her appearance in the final credits says simply 'introducing Billie Piper' rather than 'introducing Billie Piper as The Doctor', which is traditionally the terminology used when ushering in a new incarnation of the Time Lord… I didn't see one of these yesterday with everyone from Modern Who so I made one myself. But, there's something missing on the last one… #DoctorWho#doctorwhospoilers#DoctorWhofinale#TheRealityWar#ncutigatwa#billiepiper# — 𝓛𝓲𝓼𝓪 (𝓗𝓪𝓻𝓻𝔂'𝓼 𝓥𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷)💌🍒🍉🥝 (@LisasBeautySpot) June 1, 2025 Now did they forget to put Billie Piper as The Doctor or is there something else going on… — ᏝᏋᏇᎥᏕ (@SalamiSandwich4) May 31, 2025 Okay but where is the 'as the Doctor' in the credits # — beth 🫧🧚🏻✨🪩🌷 (@itsmebethh_) May 31, 2025 The fact that this does not have the words 'as the Doctor' is going to fuel a gazillion over-monetised clickbait YouTube takes between now and the start of the next series. # — Russell Merryman (@merryarty) May 31, 2025 Everyone failing to notice that Billie Piper was not 'introduced' as the Doctor in the credits, just as Billie Piper. She's clearly not the Doctor but some Bad Wolf shenanigans # — Horror Enjoyer (@TjHArtwork) May 31, 2025 call me deluded but billie posted this emphasising rose and the credits make no mention of the doctor when normally it always says introducing x as the doctor ???? are we being conned # — becky | dw era (@rinaswarkles) May 31, 2025 WHATTTTTBillie Piper is the 16th Doctor Billie Piper has played the famous Rose Tyler, the bad wolf and NOW the Doctor WELCOME BACK TO THE SHOW # — Safe Space Who (@SafeSpaceDrWho) May 31, 2025 The lack of 'as The Doctor' discourse will power the fandom for a decade # — Ryan Love (@RyanJL) May 31, 2025 BILLIE PIPER IS THE 16TH DOCTORNO SHES NOTYES SHE ISfor the next 2 years omfg let me out of this hell — clara oswald akgae (@oswinfilms) June 1, 2025 Our favourite post of them all, though, has to be this one… #DoctorWho Billie Piper predicting her own regeneration 16 years ago in the music video for her single, "Because We Want To"! — Alan 🇵🇱 | JUSTYNA ❤️🩹 (@ThatAlann) June 1, 2025 After the episode aired, Billie teased: 'It's no secret how much I love this show, and I have always said I would love to return to the Whoniverse as I have some of my best memories there, so to be given the opportunity to step back on that Tardis one more time was just something I couldn't refuse, but who, how, why and when, you'll just have to wait and see...' Showrunner Russell T Davies also said: 'Billie once changed the whole of television, back in 2005, and now she's done it again! 'It's an honour and a hoot to welcome her back to the TARDIS, but quite how and why and who is a story yet to be told. After 62 years, the Doctor's adventures are only just beginning!' The Doctor has previously regenerated into a familiar face once before, when Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth became a new version of the Time Lord, played by David Tennant in his second stint in charge of the Tardis. It's not yet clear whether a new season of Doctor Who is currently on the cards, with tabloid speculation about the show being 'rested' at the end of its latest run. Last month, a BBC spokesperson told HuffPost UK: 'As we have previously stated, the decision on season three will be made after season two airs and any other claims are just pure speculation.' BBC Sets The Record Straight On Latest Ncuti Gatwa Doctor Who 'Axe' Claims Doctor Who Boss Russell T Davies Has A Message For Critics Who Think The Show Is Too 'Woke' So THAT's Why Doctor Who's Tardis Is Stuck As A Police Box

What does 'Tudum' mean? What to know about Netflix Tudum 2025 live event
Netflix Tudum 2025 is headed to the world's largest streaming service on Saturday, June 1with fans eager to hear release dates, see exclusive footage and learn more about the streamer's eagerly anticipated upcoming TV show and movie releases. "Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event" will feature the casts of "Stranger Things," "Wednesday," Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein," and more, while providing behind-the-scenes content and live music. While Netflix's Tudum has been an annual event since 2020, this year it will be held in California and air live on Netflix as a special. Will the special reveal the "Stranger Things" season 5 release date? How about the official trailer for "Squid Games" or more about the launch date for the latest entry in the popular "Knives Out" movie series? Here's all you need to know. Tudum is the spelled-out word meant to represent the two-note sound that plays as the letter "N" is spelled at the start of Netflix's movies and series. (Mind blown, right?) Tudum is also the name of the companion site to Netflix, which offers fans a peak into deleted scenes, audition tapes, interviews, bonus videos and more. The site also provides the latest news on new shows and movies, provides data on top movies on the platform and offers recommended viewing based on your preferences. The onomatopoetic word also refers to the global pop culture event first held in São Paulo, Brazil, in January 2020. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th events were livestreamed on YouTube, and eventually broadcast globally from Brazil in June 2023. Neflix's Tudum has been an annual event since 2020, but this year is the first it'll be held in the U.S. and air live on Netflix. The format for this year's show — dubbed "Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event" — is a combination of "fanfare, variety show, comedic, music, live performances, talent, appearances," according to Variety. The event will give audience members a sneak peek at upcoming movies and shows via teasers, trailers and clips, and will introduce guests from TV and film, as well as include live music. Tudum 2025 is being held at the Kia Forum, a multipurpose arena adjacent to Los Angeles in Inglewood, California. Tickets are sold out on Ticketmaster, but they are available on trustworthy and vetted reseller sites StubHub, Vivid Seats and SeatGeek, with tickets as low as $12. Netflix Tudum 2025 will begin streaming live at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific). Netflix will be the sole streaming platform for Tudum 2025. Netflix does not offer a free trial, but you can cancel at any time or change your plan without any fees. Here are the plans you can sign up for: Standard with ads for $7.99/month, Standard without ads for $17.99/month and Premium (4K, HDR without ads) for $24.99/month. Actress Sofia Carson, known for "Carry-On" and "The Life List" will host the live event. Tudum 2025 will showcase and tease multiple shows and movies, with a strong lineup of guest stars, some of whom have been kept under wraps. Cast members will appear from the following TV shows and movies: MOVIES Frankenstein Happy Gilmore 2 My Oxford Year The Life List The RIP Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery TV SHOWS America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (Season 2) Emily in Paris (Season 5) Forever (Season 1) Ginny & Georgia (Season 3) Love is Blind My Life with the Walter Boys (Season 2) Nobody Wants This (Season 2) ONE PIECE (Season 2) Outer Banks (Season 5) Squid Game (Season 3) Stranger Things (Season 5) Wednesday (Season 2) WWE Bridgerton, which will be returning for Season 4 in 2026, was not specifically named, but a snippet of the show was featured in the Tudum 2025 trailer, hinting at a possible teaser. Lady Gaga will be performing at Tudum 2025 as well as Hanumankind (aka Sooraj Cherukat), a rapper from India. Lori Comstock is a New Jersey-based journalist with the Mid-Atlantic Connect Team.
