What I see with Kyler Murray at this point?
Like, at some point, I think we've seen Kyler Murray.
I just don't think there's another level here.
Do you?
Like, I kind of wonder about that.
Every offseason, I've come in here for three straight years.
It's been like a referendum year for Kyler Murray.
It's like, OK, this is the year where, but I believe we're there now because this regime has said, OK, we're going to improve the town around him.
Give him the best possible offensive teammates as a unit to play with.
Marvin Harrison Jr., you know, I think he's up to like 220, he's gained weight.
He looks thicker, looks stronger.
I think they're confident in him taking another step as their number one wideout.
Trey McBride has the ability to be one of the, you know, elite tight ends.
He showed it last season.
He can be there with Kelsey, Kittle, Bowers, like he's in that group.
They're gonna run the ball a heck of a lot with James Conner and Trey Benson, but they've augmented the offense a little bit for Kyler too.
Like, OK, if the offensive line isn't perfect, we're gonna move the pocket more.
We're gonna try and roll out, you know, Kyler at times.
We're gonna give him an opportunity to make plays, not necessarily inside the box.
The running component of Kyler's game is gonna be accentuated.
So, is it a referendum season for Kyler?
Yeah, I think it is because they're like, Look, we're improving the pieces around you.
Jonathan Gannon said to me, he made a golf analogy.
He's like, look, we're giving him the whole bag of clubs.
We just need him to choose the right club for the right situation.
When he's making throws and decisions, that's ultimately gonna determine whether or not this is a make or break season, right?
I mean, cynically, I already think we've had the referendum season on Kyler Murray.
I think this is who he is.
If he shows another level, I'll re-evaluate, but I get that we kind of hear this every year at this time.
Like, oh, this is what we're doing for Kyler.
This is why he's gonna have a breakout.
By your seventh season, you kind of are who you are.
That's my opinion.
We'll see.
Go back and look at the Rams game last season.
I think it was, you know, early on in the season, and then the 49ers game to wrap the season I'll be against the 49ers team that didn't have a lot to play for, nothing to play for really at that point.
Nothing to play for really at that point.
His highs, his ceiling is so crazy and so much fulfilling of why he became the number one pick in the draft.
The problem is his lows are still way too low, and when you talk to people in the organization, what they tell you is our biggest thing is that can we raise the floor on him?
Can we raise the floor on him?
Can we raise those lows to adequate?

Georgia's LB CJ Allen ranked as No. 1 LB in 2026 NFL draft

Georgia Bulldogs football program has an impressive track record of developing linebackers, arguably more so than any other position over the past decade. Since 2018, eight Georgia linebackers have been selected in the NFL draft, and rising star CJ Allen is already being projected as a potential first-round pick. NFL draft experts are often debating who is the top linebacker in the 2026 NFL draft. The debate often ends up being between Texas Longhorns start Anthony Hill and Georgia's CJ Allen. Dane Brugler, an NFL draft analyst for The Athletic, has identified CJ Allen as his top-ranked linebacker for the 2026 NFL draft. "Between his range, instincts and the fact that he dons Georgia's No. 3 jersey, Allen brings back immediate flashbacks of Roquan Smith patrolling the middle of the defense in Athens," Brugler wrote (subscription required). "Allen is quick to key, read and flow and shows the range to make plays outside the numbers. Although he isn't the longest player, he can defeat blocks with quickness or force. Allen also hits like a ton of bricks without sacrificing his balance at contact, which makes him a reliable tackler." While Dane Brugler of The Athletic ranks CJ Allen as the top linebacker for the 2026 NFL draft, he notes that Allen needs to improve his playmaking in coverage. However, Brugler highlights Allen's football awareness as his best asset, which aligns with defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann's reputation for developing linebackers with exceptional football IQ. In 2024, Allen recorded 76 tackles, three tackles for loss, and an interception. Given that Georgia linebackers often show a significant jump in production in their third year within the system, it will be compelling to see if Allen, a junior, follows this trend. Allen has been named to the Butkus Award watchlist and will look to become UGA's fourth Butkus winner in the Kirby Smart era.

Katie Ledecky wins 800m freestyle gold at World Aquatics Championship, defeating rival Summer McIntosh

American star Katie Ledecky won her seventh world title in the women's 800-meter freestyle on Saturday, fending off the challenges of Canadian sensation Summer McIntosh and Australia's Lani Pallister. This World Aquatics Championships was billed as a showdown between Ledecky, the established star of the sport, and McIntosh, her 18-year-old challenger who was attempting to equal Michael Phelps' record of winning five gold medals at a single world championship. When they competed against each other earlier this week in the 400m freestyle, it was McIntosh who emerged victorious but, this time, Ledecky once again demonstrated her dominance over longer distances. They pulled away from the field alongside Pallister and the three of them produced an extraordinary final, separated by no more than a couple of strokes for the entire race. Ledecky eventually touched the wall first with a championship-record time of 8:05.62 while Pallister finished second, just 0.36 seconds slower, and McIntosh rounded out the podium in third, another 1.31 seconds back. 'We got three under 8:10 there. That's pretty incredible,' Ledecky said afterward. 'Lani with the 8:05, Summer with the 8:07. That's incredibly fast and they pushed me all the way. I'm just really happy I could put that together. I just kept telling myself to trust my legs, because I've gotten a little better at kicking. So, I brought it home in the end.' They set off fast – all three swimmers were inside world-record pace at the halfway point – but Ledecky eventually finished just over a second outside the record she set in May. Aside from a short period with about 100m to go when McIntosh edged in front, Ledecky led for almost the entire race, and had enough energy left to hold off any late sprints from her rivals. 'I just came in tonight trying to enjoy this as much as I can,' she added. 'I don't feel like I have anything to lose at this point in my career. I just enjoy it every time I get to walk out in front of a crowd like this and swim against the best in the world.' This victory marks Ledecky's second gold medal at this championship and the 23rd world title of her glittering career after she won the 1,500m earlier this week. McIntosh, meanwhile, has already won three gold medals at this championship – in the 200m butterfly, 400m freestyle and 200m medley – and has a chance to win a fourth in the 400m individual medley on Sunday.
