'Women's Day to me means everything stops — especially for us as men. We just need to honour all the females surrounding us, whether at home, work or in our social circles. When we see a woman, we must acknowledge that she's an important person. Just thinking of the nine months they go through carrying a new life is humbling,' he said.
'We must see women as people who often can't defend themselves against gender-based violence. There's so much one can say about women — they are the backbone of society. They bring life.'
The event at Disoufeng aims to create a space where women feel celebrated and appreciated, while also raising awareness around the issues they face daily. With powerful words, great music and a sense of unity the day promises to be both festive and meaningful.

Hamilton said he and Vusi Nova may go into the studio, after the Ndikuthandile singer had previously reached out to him. In his umpteenth visit to the country, US singer Anthony Hamilton has hinted at collaborating with South African singer Vusi Nova. 'Vusi Nova and I [have] been talking on WhatsApp,' said Hamilton in an interview on Radio 702. The Grammy award-winning singer is in the country to perform at the Women's Day concert, at Wanderers Stadium alongside his fellow countrymen Joe Thomas and Mzansi's Sjava, Zonke and Vusi Nova. Hamilton said he and Vusi Nova may go into the studio during his current visit to South Africa, after the Ndikuthandile singer had previously reached out to him. 'We maybe able to go into studio (sic). He had reached out to me a while ago, but I was on tour, me and Fantasia, so I didn't see it at the proper time,' said Hamilton. In his radio interview, he shared that his first visit to South Africa was in 2009. 'It felt like I belong here, more so than any other place I had visited,' shared the artists who bestowed the South African name, Mzawandile. 'I've sat in Mandela's house, Madiba's house, on his couch. And the love that was in his home, I was able to absorb that in my spirit. It meant that I was in a place where only God could orchestrate for me. That I was supposed to be here…whatever that legacy was, I'm attached to it,' he said. Hamilton has visited South Africa at least seven times. He said coming to South Africa to perform is not only about taking, but also about giving back. 'I love on them, I don't just come and take, I give. My heart is open and it's intentional.' 'It's good to be back, I'm sure we're gonna take it up a notch,' he said. Although walking away from the awards ceremony empty-handed, the album is a critically acclaimed body of work. The biggest ditty on the album, Charlene, peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at No. 5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, becoming Hamilton's most successful single to date. Lace up and unite for community fun walk with Bellair CPF
A NEW date and venue has been set for the Bellair Community Police Forum (CPF) Fidelity ADT Unity Fun-Walk. The event, powered by Fidelity ADT in partnership with the CPF, was initially meant to take place on July 19, however bad weather led to the postponement of the community event. The walk will now start at Bellair Primary School (Purley Road Entrance) and will see residents take on a route in the area on Saturday, August 9. Kaven Reddy, the Bellair CPF event co-ordinator, explained that the new event has exciting additions. Also read: Former Olympic champ breaks barriers 'The Bellair CPF and Fidelity ADT sincerely apologise to all our valued fun walkers and supporters for the inconvenience caused by the postponement of our event. We have now turned a rain delay into an exciting fun upgrade. There's more entertainment, more fun, and more to celebrate. 'Some of the exciting new highlights include Rico the Clown, bringing laughter and joy for the whole family, and a special Women's Day surprise to honour the incredible ladies in our community. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support and can't wait to walk, laugh, and celebrate with everyone soon,' she said. Public relations officer for the forum, Thora Hübl, said she hopes the event unites the community. 'The fun walk will begin and end at Bellair Primary School and is open to all ages. There will be water tables, a jumping castle and various food and drink stalls. There will also be some goodies for the children. We are grateful to our sponsors who've helped us bring the community together. We are looking at possibly making this an annual event which also offers us as the CPF a way to connect with the community,' she said. There will be a jumping castle, goodies for the children, as well as food and drink stalls. There will also be water tables.
