Bengaluru Metro's Yellow Line Launches Today – Route Map, Timings, and Key Information
Route length and stations
Flagged off on Sunday, Bengaluru Metro yellow line has a route length of more than 19 km, and links RV Road in south Bengaluru to Bommasandra in the city's industrial area, at a distance of 18.7 km. The yellow metro line has a total of 16 stations across the span with three interchange stations including at RV Road, Jayadeva and Central Silk Board. While the interchange at RV will allow commuters to get to the Green line, the interchange at Jayadeva and Central Silk Board will link the metro with Pink and Blue lines to be built in the future.
On completion of this latest addition of the yellow line, Namma Metro yellow line update operational length will be 96 km+, making the Bengaluru Metro service the second largest after Delhi.
Bangalore metro timings and fare
Initially, three trains will be put into operation, running daily from 5: 00 am to 11:00 pm, in a move to serve the thousands of commuters traveling during the time. It will also run at an interval of every 25 minutes, which will be reduced further to 10 minutes in the coming future.
Fare for this new line metro will be as per the general Bengaluru Metro ticket prices which range from Rs. 10 to Rs. 90 for one-way tickets.

Actor Shilpa Shetty and her businessman-husband Raj Kundra have issued a statement through their lawyer after a case was filed against them for allegedly cheating a businessman of over Rs 60 crore. The complaint, filed by businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services Ltd, claims the incident took place between 2015 and 2023. 'My clients have been informed by certain segment of electronic and print media that there is an alleged case registered against my clients at the Economic offence wing , Mumbai. At the outset , my clients deny all the allegations against my clients which are purely civil in nature and have been adjudicated by the NCLT Mumbai on 04/10/2024. This is an old transaction , wherein the company went in to financial distress and eventually got entangled in a long legal battle at the NCLT,' said Advocate Prashant Patil, who's representing the celebrity couple in the matter. Kothari alleged that the couple took the money under the pretext of expanding their business but used it for personal expenses instead. According to him, in 2015, Shetty and Kundra approached him through a mediator seeking a Rs 75 crore loan for their company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, which promoted lifestyle products and ran an online shopping platform. The proposed interest rate was 12%. Later, they reportedly asked him to provide the funds as an 'investment' instead of a loan, assuring him of monthly returns and repayment of principal. Kothari claimed he transferred Rs 31.95 crore in April 2015 under a share subscription agreement, and another Rs 28.53 crore in September 2015 under a supplementary agreement. The total amount was credited to Best Deal TV's bank accounts. Repeated attempts to recover the funds allegedly failed, and Kothari accused the couple of 'dishonestly using' the money for personal benefit. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the financial transactions, agreements, and the alleged misappropriation of funds. 'There is no criminality involved, and our auditors have submitted all the necessary supporting documents from time to time, as requested by the EOW, including detailed cash flow statements. The investment agreement in question is purely in the nature of an equity investment,' argued Patil, adding, 'The company has already received a liquidation order, which has also been placed before the police department . The concerned Charter accounts have visited the police station for last one year for more than 15 times with all the evidence supporting the claims of my clients.' The central government has allocated the Majos and Bhanta magnetite blocks, situated in the Jamui district of Bihar, to the state government, reported Jagran. A combined e-auction will be held for both mineral blocks. Based on the recommendation of the Tender Approval Committee (TAC) and the proposal from Phase 2 for their joint auction, the state government has decided to move forward with the request. According to the Jagran report, the state government has established a reserve price of Rs 4,325.76 crore for the two mineral blocks. The central government had allocated three large mineral blocks to Bihar – the Majos Magnetite Block and the Bhanta Magnetite Block in Jamui district, and the limestone block of Bhora-Katora in Rohtas district, the report mentioned. Previously, the estimated reserve price was also reserved at Rs 3,817.60 crore for the Majos Magnetite Block, Rs 511.91 crore for the Bhanta Block, and Rs 1,761.42 crore for the limestone block of Bhora-Katora. The department stated that the auction of these blocks began with a successful auction for the Bhora-Katora block in Rohtas. However, when the initial bids for Majos and Bhanta were opened, there were fewer than three technically qualified bidders. Consequently, the tender process was cancelled altogether. When the auction process commenced again, it was decided to auction both Majos and Bhanta together since both are located in the same district and have the same type of mineral. The Tender Approval Committee made the decision to auction the two mineral blocks together. The government anticipates that these two blocks could produce 54.89 million tonnes of minerals, with a reserve price of ₹4,325.76 crore. Sources indicated that after new procedures are fully articulated in full, an auction of said two mineral blocks will be held in the near future.

In early 2020, Chinese forces mounted incursions at multiple locations on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the de facto border between the two countries, and clashed with Indian personnel. In June 2020, Chinese troops attacked Indian soldiers and killed 20 Indian Army personnel, plunging the India-China relationship to the lowest point since 1962 when the two countries fought a war. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD In the latest step to stabilise the ties, Bloomberg has now reported that India and China are discussing resuming border trade of locally made goods. The border trade was shut in 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic, which began in China's Wuhan, was raging. As the India-China relationship soon nosedived from border tensions, the trade was reopened. The report said that India and China have proposed restarting trade through designated points on the border and the matter is currently under bilateral discussion. Previously, India and China had traded locally-produced goods like spices, carpets, wooden furniture, cattle fodder, pottery, medicinal plants, electric items, and wool through three designated points along the LAC. However, the resumption of border trade will be largely symbolic and will not mean much as it accounts for a tiny fraction of the overall trade. In 2017-18, the last year for which border trade data is available, the India-China border trade was $3.16 million, which was less than 0.1 per cent of the overall trade by value. While India did not comment on the report, Chinese foreign ministry said that it is 'willing to step up communication and coordination with India' on the matter. It further said that 'border trade between China and India has long played an important role in improving lives of the two countries' border residents'. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Over the past year, India and China have taken steps aimed at stabilising the relationship, such as India and China partially resolving the Ladakh standoff, China resuming the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra, and India resuming visas to Chinese tourists. However, India-China relationship remains far from normal and tensions and distrust continue to dominate it. Despite such steps, China has continued to undermine India even if those acts have not made frequent headlines. For example, China has stopped the supply of rare earths to India even though it has resumed supplies to other countries. China has stopped the supply of speciality fertilisers to India. China has banned its engineers from working in mobile factories in India to hurt India's manufacturing ambitions and companies diversifying their manufacturing and supply chains out of China. Above all, China has continued to support Pakistan to the hilt against India. The Chinese-Pakistani integration was such that Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh, the deputy chief of the Indian Army, said that China was fighting India via a backdoor. 'We had one border and two adversaries — actually three. Pakistan was in the front. China was providing all possible support — 81 per cent of the military hardware with Pakistan is Chinese…China is able to test its weapons against other weapons, so it's like a live lab available to them. Turkey also played an important role in providing the type of support it did,' Singh further said.
