ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — The longer weekend promises to be an entertaining one full of celebrations, laughs and community happenings. News-Press NOW's Kendra Simpson found the weekend's top entertainment in this week's edition of See St. Joseph.
What's spring in St. Joseph without the community markets? Well, the wait is over because this Saturday is the return of Market Days.
Supporting local businesses has never been easier with a wide selection of flowers, baked goods, pottery, jewelry and more. These markets are an excellent opportunity to find the perfect gifts for yourself or a loved one, get to know local businesses and engage with the St. Joseph community. The first community market of the season goes from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Center for Joy, located at 1202 Felix St.
St. Joseph is officially entering the wedding season with the warm weather, but St. Joe's Comedy Wedding is no typical ceremony.
St. Joseph residents have been cordially invited to the most outrageous wedding of the year. Lora and Billy are tying the knot, despite a long-standing, bitter and hilarious feud between the groom and the bride's family. What could go wrong? Get ready for an evening of dancing, laughing, auctions and an incredible meal. This isn't just a wedding, it's an experience! Guests should arrive between 7 and 7:15 p.m. with the nuptials beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at 515 S 6th St. Regular and VIP table tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 816-279-1225.
What better way to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend than with a party hosted by one of St. Joseph's most popular pubs?
D&G Pub is hosting its first-ever Memorial Day celebration. There's going to be a free fireworks display, an ice-cold beer station, grilled brats, a campfire pit and roasted marshmallows. Come for the celebrations and stay for the bonding and camaraderie. The celebration goes from 7:30 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. at D&G, located at 1918 Frederick Ave.

Why Eminem Is Suing Meta for $109 Million

Originally appeared on E! Online is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with a social media giant. The 'Love the Way You Lie' rapper's publishing company Eight Mile Style filed a lawsuit against Meta Platforms—which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp—accusing the tech company of copyright infringement and seeking over $109 million in damages, according to court documents filed May 30 and obtained by E! News June 3. In the filing, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) alleges that Meta violated the copyright of 243 songs from his catalog through the 'unauthorized storage, reproduction and exploitation' of the tracks on their platforms. The lawsuit cites the apps' features, including Original Audio and Reels, as tools that 'allow and encourage its users to steal' his music to use in video content 'without proper attribution or license.' As a result, the Grammy winner is seeking monetary damages for 'the diminished value of the copyrights by Defendants' theft of them, lost profits, and Defendants' profits attributable to the infringement.' Alternatively, he asked for the maximum statutory damages, requesting $150,000 for each of the songs in question across all three of Meta's platforms, totaling a whopping $109,350,000. Week of May 26 Evening News Ratings: All 3 Newscasts Struggle For Viewers Post-Memorial Day

The week after the Memorial Day holiday weekend proved slow for the evening newscasts as all three failed to make week-to-week gains in total viewers or the Adults 25-54 demo. NBC Nightly News was the only newscast not to record declines across the board for the week of May 26, as enough of an audience tuned in for Lester Holt's final broadcast as anchor to keep it from falling into the negative zone with total viewers. Holt has something else to smile about: His final week in the anchor's chair brought the demo gap between Nightly News and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir to just 53,000 viewers-its closest finish since January. Note: The weekly averages of ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday). Monday's (05/26/25) broadcasts were retitled due to the Memorial Day holiday. These broadcasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, WNT averaged 7.042 million total viewers and 884,000 demo viewers for respective drops of -2% and -9% compared to the previous week. Looking at its performance alongside the same week in 2024 (the week beginning May 27), WNT was down -3% in total viewers and -14% in the demo. NBC Nightly News finished second in total viewers and the demo, averaging 5.720 million total viewers and 831,000 demo viewers. Week-to-week, the newscast was flat in the former category and dipped -5% in the latter. Year-to-year, Nightly News was up +2% in total viewers and +4% in the demo-the only newscast with gains relative to the same week in 2024. CBS Evening News drew 3.600 million total viewers and 490,000 A25-54 viewers for declines of -8% in the former category and -12% in the latter. Year-to-year, the newscast declined -15% in total viewers and -24% in the demo.
