Netherlands vs Nepal T20 game gets a winner after three Super Overs, a first in a men's professional match
It took not one, not two, but three Super Overs to determine the winner of a Scotland T20 Tri-Series match between the Netherlands and Nepal in Glasgow on Monday.
This was the first time a men's professional cricket match—T20 or List A—was going into a third Super Over, at the conclusion of which the Dutch came out on top.
With Nepal requiring 16 in the final over to win, Sandeep Lamichhane passed on the strike to Nandan Yadav after the first two balls to have the latter finish things off. Despite hitting two fours off the final four deliveries of Kyle Klein, Nandan could only manage to tie the score.

Left-arm spinner Daniel Doram, having returned figures of 4-0-14-3 in regular time, was tasked with bowling the first Super Over. Kushal Bhartel, however, tore into him, hammering two sixes and a four to help Nepal post 19. Interestingly, Karan KC was meted out the same treatment by Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd as the game trickled into a second Super Over.
Lalit Rajbanshi, yet another left-arm spinner, got things started in the second Super Over. He did claim one wicket, that of the Dutch skipper Scott Edwards, albeit it came only off the final ball. Edwards' counterpart Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee had 18 to get. The equation eventually came down to a six required off the final ball to get even. Klein giving into the pressure and Airee swinging for the skies meant the job was far from over.

The introduction of right-arm off-spin into the mix proved to be the game changer in the third Super Over, as the Netherlands' Zach Lion-Cachet got Paudel and Rupesh Singh out for ducks. Levitt, in response, hit a six to finish things off in style.

Ashwin-led Dindigul stays focused amid noise Despite the off-field drama, Ashwin's Dindigul Dragons continued their strong title defence. The side chased down a target of 151 in under 13 overs, thanks to an explosive start from openers Ashwin and Shivam Singh. With back-to-back wins under their belt, the Dragons look well on course for another deep TNPL campaign.

R Ashwin of ball tampering charges, TNPL warns disciplinary action for ‘baseless or defamatory allegations'
Ravichandran Ashwin and his Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) side Dindigul Dragons have been cleared of ball-tampering by the league. It also gave the Madurai Panthers, who made the accusation, the option of requesting an independent enquiry into the incident while warning them that they will face disciplinary action if their allegations turn out to be baseless. Madurai had alleged that Dindigul used towels treated with chemicals that resulted in the ball getting heavier and produced metallic sound when it came into contact with the bat. 'The towels in question were TNCA-issued and equally available to both teams,' the TNPL CEO Prasanna Kannan said in a statement. 'The Playing Control Team-including umpires and the match referee-maintained full oversight of the ball throughout the match. No concerns were raised during play, and no verifiable evidence has been provided. The claims appear speculative and post-facto in nature.' The match in question started after a brief delay following a short downpour in Salem, following which Madurai batted first and made 150/8 in 20 overs, which Dindigul overhauled in 12.3 overs and 9 wickets to spare. Ashwin had gone wicketless with the ball before scoring 49 as an opener. The tournament itself has been hampered by rain as it coincides with the monsoon season in Tamil Nadu. Factoring in the damp conditions, The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association provides towels to each of the franchises and players are allowed to use it to dry the ball only in front of the umpires. 'They have to dry the ball only using the towels provided by TNPL. And every time the ball is hit for a six or immediately after a dismissal and over-break, umpires regularly check the ball and they didn't find any issue with the ball during the said match,' Kannan had earlier told the Indian Express. If the franchise still wants to pursue the matter, the TNPL said that they can go for an independent enquiry but a formal request for the same has to be raised by 3pm IST on Tuesday. 'Should the franchise possess credible and verifiable evidence, they may submit a formal request for an Independent Commission of Enquiry by 3 PM on 17th June, along with supporting material (video, photographic, or testimonial),' it said. It then stated: 'TNCA cautions that baseless or defamatory allegations may lead to disciplinary action under the TNCA Code of Conduct and Operational Rules.'
