Hollyoaks' Arlo makes shocking claim about Diane's accident
follow for the latest episode to air on E4.
This article contains mention of suicide and transphobic bullying that some readers might find upsetting.
Hollyoaks has aired another twist in the Arlo Fielding bullying storyline, as he made a nasty claim about Diane Hutchinson.
Previously, Diane accidentally slipped over in the bath and was rescued by Tony Hutchinson before anything bad happened.
Related:
In tonight's episode, she told Tony that she hadn't relapsed and the wine she was drinking was a one-off, and not the reason why she was unconscious in the bath (she tried to reach for the window to close it). The two then wondered about how they would afford Ro's solicitor fees with the new expense of the water damage.
When Ro Hutchinson popped into The Hutch on the way to school, Arlo mentioned Diane's accident. Diane then lied to him and said she fell asleep in the bath due to exhaustion.
"Ro, this has nothing to do you. It was just a stupid accident that could have happened to anyone at any time," she tried to reassure him.
Marie Fielding invited Ro and Diane to stay with them while the flat in the pub is being repaired, promising not to tell anyone due to it breaking Ro's bail conditions.

While Tony was cooking a family meal, Arlo took the opportunity to make Ro feel even worse.
"I don't know what she told you, but she tried to top herself last night," he lied. "And who can blame her? Having a freak of a daughter like you."
The episode ended with Ro looking like he believed Arlo, and was devastated by what he heard.
The episode did have a lighter moment for Ro, as it hinted that there may be a mutual attraction between him and best friend Kathleen-Angel McQueen.
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.

Sony Teases PS6, PS5 ‘Multi-Generational' Plan
Sony Group held a business segment presentation earlier today, during which the company teased a 'multi-generational' plan for and . PlayStation CEO Hideaki Nishino pledged 'new and enhanced' ways for players to play games on both platforms. Nishino acknowledged that there's a lot of interest surrounding the PS6 already, and while he understandably couldn't divulge future plans, he did say that the upcoming console is 'top of mind' for Sony. However, seeing the high levels of engagement from PS4 players well beyond the launch of PS5, the company intends to disrupt traditional approach to console life cycles. What this essentially means is that unlike the switch from PS3 to PS4, the current generation validated Sony's new 'multi-generational' approach, and it plans to continue using that strategy going forward. 'We're still exploring what the future of our platform would look like,' added Sony Interactive Entertainment SVP Lynn Azar. 'We've reduced traditional cyclicality by establishing a large ecosystem of players across both the PS5 and PS4 generations. And as we continue to drive a multi-generational ecosystem into the future, we'll provide new ways for players to access the platform and experience our content and services.' PS6 is expected to launch by 2028 at the latest. The post Sony Teases PS6, PS5 'Multi-Generational' Plan appeared first on PlayStation LifeStyle.

Claudia Winkleman ‘incredibly grateful' for MBE in King's Birthday Honours
TV presenter Claudia Winkleman has said she is 'incredibly grateful' to have been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King's Birthday Honours. The Traitors presenter was honoured on Friday alongside her Strictly Come Dancing co-host, Tess Daly, for services to broadcasting. Winkleman, 53, said: 'I am incredibly grateful to receive this honour. 'It's a real privilege to work with extraordinarily talented people and I have only got this because of them. So this is for the BBC, the traitors and the faithful, for pianos and for the cha cha. 'I will buy a hat and am taking my mum. I am ridiculously lucky and will celebrate with Tess by doing a paso doble.' Born and raised in London, she studied history of art at Cambridge University and after graduating began her career as a TV and radio presenter, fronting a range of BBC TV shows including Comic Relief and The Great British Sewing Bee. She also presented on BBC Radio 2 until 2024, hosting different programmes on the station including the comedy quiz series Hot Gossip, the Claudia Winkleman Arts Show and Claudia On Sunday. In 2004, she joined BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, presenting its weekday companion show It Takes Two until she passed it to broadcaster Zoe Ball, with her taking on the Sunday night results show alongside Daly. The presenter joined Daly for the main show every Saturday from 2014, after Sir Bruce Forsyth stepped down. The Bafta-winning presenter is also behind the hit BBC game show The Traitors and won best entertainment performance at the 2023 awards. She will be fronting its charity spin-off series, The Celebrity Traitors, in which 19 famous faces will enter the castle in the Highlands, including comedian Alan Carr, actor and broadcaster Sir Stephen Fry and retired diver Tom Daley. Stephen Lambert, who is also recognised in the King's Birthday Honours and is the founder and chief executive of Studio Lambert, said: 'I'm thrilled that Claudia Winkleman is being honoured too; her brilliant hosting has played such a key role in the success of The Traitors.' Studio Lambert is the production company behind The Traitors, Gogglebox, Race Across the World, and Squid Game: The Challenge. Winkleman hosts the Channel 4 general knowledge gameshow One Question, where she recently described wanting to cry after a father and daughter won £100,000, making history on the programme for winning the top prize without looking at all of the possible answers. She also presents Channel 4's The Piano, in which she is joined by singer-songwriter Mika and Grammy-winner Jon Batiste, as they hunt for Britain's most talented undiscovered pianists. She will host a concert for this year's BBC Proms, including a matinee and evening Traitors-themed performance, which is expected to have a range of famous classical works, alongside new arrangements of some of the music from the popular psychological reality programme. Winkleman is a trustee of the The British Museum and a patron of Child Bereavement UK.

Sony isn't worried about the Switch 2 being the fastest-selling piece of Nintendo hardware ever, because you need the PS5 for "a great experience on big screens"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. As you've no doubt noticed, the Nintendo Switch 2 is now available worldwide. The new console's arrival is sending ripples through the industry, but Sony isn't concerned, because the PlayStation 5 hardware is simply on another level. Hideaki Nishino, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, was asked about Nintendo's latest system and whether there were any concerns about what it offers during a recent business segment meeting. He starts by mentioning that competition is good, and companies successfully launching products is good for everyone, before taking a more pointed stance. "We have a differentiated strategy. PS5 is designed for an immersive gaming experience, and this includes the innovative DualSense controller features as well," he says. "We believe PS5-level performance is required to achieve a great experience on big screens. And in this way, we have provided a unique offering for players and creators in this current console generation." In the face of increasing multi-platform releases, Nishino reiterates the goal of making the PS5 the finest option for creative teams looking to reach a wide audience. "We have empowered our creators to leverage our offering and services to create amazing, unique experiences for players with high engagement and great monetization opportunities," he explains. "We have done this consistently as the industry and competitive dynamics have evolved. And of course, PlayStation Studios, our franchises, have a special role in showcasing the PlayStation experience and then strengthening the player's vision with us." With the likes of God of War and The Last of Us, Sony has managed to maintain its exclusives remarkably well, breeding a particular kind of loyalty in the process. These games do court an older fanbase than the home of Super Mario and Zelda aims for, but Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, believes they have something for everyone. "In addition to our franchises with more, I would call it 'multi-generational' fanbases, such as Marvel's Spider-Man, we also have franchises that appeal to a range of different player segments. Horizon is a good example, it's been very popular with female players, Astro Bot from our lovely Team Asobi in Tokyo, it's been a hit with children and adults alike," he explained. There are pros and cons to every machine and platform. There's still only one place you can play Mario Kart, and it's not where Kratos lives, but you're unlikely to see The Last of Us 3 anywhere near the Switch 2 either. Meanwhile, the Switch 2 is built with portability in mind, whereas the PS5 favors cinematic, at-home playing. It's all about finding what suits you.
