Days of Our Lives Recap: Sarah and Brady Walk in on Xander and Gabi's Kiss originally appeared on Daytime Confidential.
On today's Days of Our Lives recap:
University Hospital – Lobby: Cat and Chad run into each other. She's there as Felicity is sick with a 103 fever. Just then, Sarah arrives saying she has strep throat. Cat heaves a sigh of relief and Chad stands by for support. She notes the pharmacy is backed up (something they've noted several times in the past few weeks). Chad say he'll hang around and wait so Cat can take her sister home. She agrees and exits.
Horton Square: Brady runs into Marlena who just put Sami in a cab to head home to be with Sydney. She's about to head over to the trial. Brady is headed to try and get the adoptive parents to let Tate get some closure with the baby.
Sarah runs into Brady, and they giggle about playing hooky from work. Brady talks about Tate and discusses the trouble he's having getting a meet and greet with the baby. Sarah, knowing the truth, questions the adoptive parents being in Chicago. Brady feels so bizarre to not know if he will ever be able to meet his grandchild.
Brady notice Sarah is a little off and says she is holding a secret for a patient and it's getting to her. Brady and Sarah establish they are free and agree to head to The Bistro to get a bite to eat.
The Bistro: Gabi and Xander are drinking the afternoon away. She orders another bottle and says the night is still young. Gabi says she is impressed with Xander's ability to handle so many things both personal and professional at the same time. Xander begins to look at Gabi with different eyes when she says, if Victor were alive, he would be very proud of him.
Xander grouses about his history with Victor and how he was constantly fighting for his place in the family (as he continues to guzzle his wine). Gabi notes her time in prison and her mother's voice saying how disappointed she was in her. It took a while, but she got beyond it and thinks he can do the same.
Xander and Gabi chat a bit about Sarah, and he says how much trouble they've been having recently. Xander downs more wine when Gabi wonders why he hasn't turned the page and moved on. Xander says it's not that easy, but Gabi thinks, with the right distraction, it can be just that easy. With that, she pulls him into a kiss, just as Sarah and Brady walk in.
Xander pulls away and sees Sarah. Brady thinks they should leave but she wants to hang tight and takes a seat.
Xander freaks out because Sarah saw them kiss. Gabi says she got caught up in the moment but didn't think she was doing anything wrong as they are separated. He relents and Gabi asks what the issue is. Xander agrees and says his marriage may be over, but his life isn't. With that, he guzzles down yet another glass of wine.
Xander spies Sarah taking Brady's hand. Gabi tries to make small talk when a drunken Xander turns his chair over and heads over to Sarah and Brady's table. He wonders why Sarah isn't with Victoria and demands his daughter back.
Courtroom: EJ calls for an immediate mistrial based on Belle's ethical conflict. Belle begins to argue, and Johnny is more than annoyed with his father. The judge calls a recess and clears the courtroom. The judge reminds EJ of his hypocrisy saying he also has an ethical conflict and scolds him for this timing. Belle admits their relationship predated the trial. She adds there are so many other conflicts. The judge reminds EJ he waved his rights to any objections before the trial ever began and denies his motion for mistrial and says DA Black will be staying. Belle says she wants it on the record there is no longer a conflict as they are no longer involved. After the judge gives them strict instructions, Belle rushes out of the courtroom.
Outside the courtroom, Johnny tells Marlena about EJ's strategic move against Belle. Marlena can't believe EJ would expose his relationship with Belle, especially at this crucial moment. Johnny, of course, blames himself. Marlena says the responsibility for these issues lays with EJ.
Belle walks out and Marlena notices she's upset but she doesn't wish to discuss. She is devastated to be humiliated by someone she thought loved her but won't let anyone else see her fall apart.
Greene Central: Chad brings the meds by, and notices Cat is a little off and has a fever. She wants him to get gone so he's not exposed but Chad says that ship has sailed. Therefore, he must stay.
Cat has the same temperature as Felicity and Chad worries about her. Cat thanks him and he heads to the bathroom to grab meds. Cat takes the opportunity to text Rafe to say she's sick and can't make their meeting the next day.
Endings
Johnny rolls back into the courtroom and demands to know why he treated his aunt that way. EJ reminds him Belle's job is to convict him and won't apologize. Johnny inquires about the damage done and EJ says he got nothing accomplished but no damage.
Belle admits she should have listened to her mother as EJ is awful and, of course, causing all kinds of drama. Just then, EJ and Johnny walk out of the courtroom.
Cat is asleep on her sofa when Chad approaches with a cold cloth. She is a bit delirious and says 'I should have told you.' She wakes up and pulls him into a kiss.
Brady tells Xander to take a step back as he is tanked. Sarah steps up and says she has some things to say. She lays into Xander about their custody schedule and says she is also allowed to kiss anyone she wants. With that, she pulls Brady into a deep kiss.
Johnny leaves his father to deal with Marlena and Belle. He tries to speak and Marlena intervenes. Belle says she needs to talk to him and her mother exits and the duo head into the courtroom. Belle can't believe EJ humiliated her in court in that way. EJ says he never intended to hurt her. Belle understands it's impossible to satisfy EJ's needs and try to do her job. Belle walks out and says EJ is dead to her (as EJ tears up).
