Minister promises to return Indiramma houses to dispossessed
The Minister, who took part in the weekly face-to-face programme for the first time after taking charge at Gandhi Bhavan, received several grievances concerning different departments. Amongst those he also accepted the complaints regarding alleged dispossession of Indiramma householders during the BRS regime. The victims accused that the authorities during the previous government had snatched away their entitlements.
Speaking at the program, Vivek said that he has received requests from the people of various districts. He said that he has been aware of the people's problems and has spoken to the Collectors regarding the issues. He said that he has communicated to the Vikarabad Collector about the land issues of Dalits and that they will be resolved in coordination with the concerned departments.
'I spoke to Vikarabad and Hyderabad collectors on double bedroom houses and Dalit issues. People from various districts submitted applications. After speaking to officials of concerned departments some applications are being resolved on the spot. This is a good program, as this will show the pulse of the people on the government. People have not had a chance to talk to ministers for the last 10 years, but in this government people can directly visit the Minister,' he said.

BJP reaches out to Chirag Paswan, asks him to tone down criticism of Nitish government
In an effort to prevent history from repeating itself, the senior leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been at pains to ensure that Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan refrains from making critical remarks against the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar. However, it has so far seen mixed results. According to a senior national office-bearer of the BJP, Mr. Paswan has been asked to tone down his criticism of the State government, particularly following his recent remarks on a series of murders in Bihar. 'I feel sad to support a government under which crime is out of control,' Mr. Paswan had said. The remarks did not go down well with Mr. Kumar's party, the Janata Dal(U), which fears that Mr. Paswan might end up splitting NDA votes, as in the 2020 Assembly election. According to one estimate by the JD(U), the party lost at least 12 seats in that election because Mr. Paswan, after breaking away from the NDA, fielded candidates against the JD(U) who made inroads into the NDA votes. 'We have conveyed to Chirag Paswan that he is on a good wicket, he has age, and a significant support base on his side, he should pull together with NDA, there is no need to be isolated within the alliance,' said a BJP leader. Mr. Paswan, who often refers to himself as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hanuman, or disciple, even when he was not a part of the NDA, has never hidden either his antipathy towards Mr. Kumar and the JD(U) or even his own ambitions. His party's MP Arun Bharti (also Mr. Paswan's brother-in-law) had, in an interview to The Hindu, said that Mr. Paswan was a 'Bahujan leader and LJP(RV) is a Bahujan party', signalling Mr. Paswan's intentions of casting his net wider in terms of communities other than his own Dalit constituency. Recently, Mr. Paswan's absence from a meeting presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Sitamarhi raised eyebrows, but he later said that this was not deliberate but due to a scheduling conflict. 'We will be reaching out to him again,' said a senior BJP leader. The BJP assesses that the upcoming Bihar Assembly election has a couple of unpredictable factors — Mr. Kumar's health and the impact of Prashant Kishor and his Jan Suraaj Party. In the highly caste sensitive political landscape of Bihar, the Opposition party workers often refer to Mr. Kishor as 'Prashant Kishor Pandey', underlining his Brahmin lineage. Much will depend on the candidates selected by Mr. Kishor, and if he puts strong candidates, especially in the seats held by the JD(U), the upper caste voters may choose to go with him. In such a scenario, Mr. Paswan's remarks and the perception that the NDA may not be the united house it should be in the run-up to the polls is something that the BJP wants to squash as early as possible.

Mumbai Congress leaders complain of ‘organisational stagnancy', target Gaikwad
Even as parties are preparing for the upcoming local body elections, a section of Mumbai Congress leaders are targeting city unit chief and Lok Sabha MP Varsha Gaikwad, alleging organisational stangnacy. However, the leaders who were to meet Ramesh Chennithala, AICC incharge of state unit, in Pune on Tuesday, postponed the meeting. 'We are not against any individual. We want to convey to the All India Congress Committee that there is organisational stangnacy in the Mumbai unit. We are not taking up the civic issues aggressively as compared to our ally Shiv Sena(UBT) and there is decline of the party's presence from media as well,' said a senior Mumbai Congress leader who was to be in the delegation to meet Chennithala. Another leader said that the Mumbai unit of the party was lacking at organising cultural events that resonate with Mumbai and Maharashtra, especially the Marathi culture. 'We have nothing against the Mumbai Congress chief. But we certainly want the organisation to be more active,' he said. However, Mumbai Congress chief Varsha Gaikwad said that it was decided in the party leaders' meeting in Delhi that she will remain the chief of Mumbai unit. 'I prefer to ignore these reports, which are nothing but gossip. Instead, I choose to focus on my work that involves opposing issues such as Adani land grab in Mumbai and corruption in BMC. I am sure that all my colleagues in the party will join me in the protests,' she told The Indian Express. Gaikwad said that as a woman and a Dalit leader, she is focused on building the party in Mumbai. However, this groupism in the party ahead of the local body polls comes as a rude shock to many workers who feel that the party should remain united to take on the BJP and its allies. There are others in the Mumbai unit feel that this groupism has existed in the party for decades. 'Every Mumbai Congress chief has faced this and it is not new. Varsha Gaikwad has been vocal against Adani for months. It is expected that all Mumbai Congress leaders join her in protests in Dharavi, Mulund and Kurla. Mumbai Congress leaders putting up a united front will surely make a difference,' said a Mumbai Congress leader, who said that he has chosen neither side.

Activists of SC-right stage protest in Karnataka's Hassan dist., term Justice Nagamohan Das panel report unscientific
The Hassan district unit of the Karnataka Rajya Balagai Sambandhita Jatigala Okkoota, a federation of castes identified as Scheduled Caste (SC)-right in the State, staged a protest in Hassan on Tuesday, demanding a review of the report submitted by the Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das panel. The protesters, who staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioners' office, stated that the panel's report on the internal reservation was unscientific and its findings should be reviewed by an expert committee. They maintained that the sub-castes Holeya Balagai, Pareya, Adi Karnataka, Adi Dravida, Adi Andhra, Holeya Dasara, Channa Dasara, Holeya Dasara, and Holar were part of Dalit right (Balagai). The population of these sub-castes should be included while calculating the total population of the SC-right, they said, while adding that the government should consider their demand before implementing the recommendations of the commission. Dalit activists H.K. Sandesh and Somashekhar, former chairman of Hassan Urban Development Authority Krishna Kumar, RPI State president Sathish, advocate B.C. Rajesh, and others took part in the protest. They also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, which was addressed to the Chief Minister.
