
Police seeking witnesses of Brandon shooting
The Brandon Police (BPS) is looking for witnesses of a shooting that took place on Wednesday morning.
According to police, a 33-year-old man was shot in the hip, but survived the attack.
The areas of interest are the 000 block of 26th Street, Alaska Bay and 26th Street between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Brandon police officers are looking for two suspects. The first suspect is described as a male wearing a black jacket with a grey hood on the jacket and a black hood over his head. He also wore a black backpack, black pants and black shoes. The second suspect is described as a male wearing a black jacket, red hood, black pants and white shoes.
The suspects were last seen heading west on Westaway Bay.

Hit-and-run suspect found already arrested on unrelated matter: RCMP
The Fort McMurray RCMP detachment can be seen in this Google image from 2019. (Google Street View) Mounties say they found a wanted hit-and-run driver already in police custody for unrelated charges. RCMP issued a release looking for a driver in connection with a hit-and-run that seriously hurt a 65-year-old woman on Thursday in Fort McMurray. On Friday, she remained in critical, life-threatening condition. With the help of public tips and resident surveillance footage, RCMP said they were able to identify the vehicle and the suspected driver, who was later found already in police custody awaiting charges for 'other criminal matters.' The driver, a 31-year-old Fort McMurray man, has been charged with failure to stop after an accident causing bodily harm. RCMP did not say what other 'criminal matters' the man is accused of. He remains in custody awaiting a judicial interim hearing.

RCMP seizes nearly 150 grams of crack cocaine; Winnipeg man arrested
Drugs seized by the RCMP as part of a months-long investigation are pictured in an undated photo. (RCMP) A Winnipeg man is facing several charges after RCMP officers made a 'significant' drug seizure that included fentanyl and crack cocaine. On Tuesday, Mounties arrested a 32-year-old man who was found to be in possession of 147 grams of crack cocaine, 70 pills believed to be fentanyl and other pills that are thought to be Percocet/Oxycontin. Police noted that all the drugs were packaged for individual sale. RCMP then searched a home in Winnipeg, where they found Canadian money as well as cellphones. The 32-year-old man is facing numerous drug offences, including charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine. A 28-year-old Winnipeg man was also arrested for possession of cocaine and was later released. The charges come after a months-long investigation that began in March. The investigation continues.
