Man arrested as creepy teddy bear feared to be wrapped in human skin horrifies locals

The chillingly-realistic toy was left outside a petrol station in San Bernardino County, California - leading to multiple reports to the local police from concerned members of the public
A macabre teddy bear fashioned from what appeared to be "human skin" sparked a police operation in San Bernardino County, California, after it was abandoned outside a petrol station on Bear Valley Road, Victorville, causing alarm among locals.

Local police cordoned off the scene as they investigated the eerily lifelike serial killer-themed toy, only to discover that it was actually crafted from latex, rather than human flesh.

23-year-old Corona Villanueva was apprehended following the incident. It is believed he acquired the prop from horror movie specialists Dark Seed Creations and now faces charges for 'causing the report of an emergency while knowing it to be false' and 'intentionally and wrongfully planting evidence to falsely present as real'.

A spokesperson for the police commented on the matter, stating: "Incidents such as this take up valuable emergency resources and put the public at risk, possibly delaying response time to legitimate calls for service. We would like to thank those that reported information that was helpful during the investigation of this case."
Meanwhile, Robert Kelly, the artist behind the "Human skin teddy bears" sold on Etsy, couldn't contain his astonishment on Facebook, exclaiming: "I cant make this s*** up!," and sharing with his followers: "One of my skin teddy bears has apparently been involved in a prank that brought police attention! This is f*****g wild!".
Scores of enthusiasts took to social media to laud his antics, suggesting that the escapade could well catapult him into the limelight – and perhaps significantly boost sales for the $165.00 (around £122) product. Currently, these bears are marked as "sold out" on Robert's Etsy shop.
Robert offers an array of sinister items on his page, including a 'skin vest', a selection of Halloween masks, and a chilling lampshade homage to the infamous murderer Ed Gein.

Speaking to People magazine, Robert revealed he had recently sold one of the bears to a patron in the San Bernardino region: "Our work is pretty easily recognisable, and people were sending the articles (about the incident) left and right.
"I looked, and sure enough it was the bear I sent out last week," Mr Kelly confided to People magazine.

"Every artist wants credit [for] their work, so I said 'I made that', and haven't been able to catch up with messages since."
He clarified that he was completely unaware of the purchaser's plans to create havoc: "I did not have any knowledge of the [buyer's] intentions nor was I involved in a prank on the other side of the nation from me," he declared on Facebook.
Nonetheless, in a chat with ABC News, the artist admitted he was somewhat basking in the unexpected fame: "I guess I'd probably be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying it a little bit.
"You know, I'm an independent artist, so you know, I know what starving artist life feels like. So, a little attention is sometimes good regardless of not being able to condone whatever."

It is not the big name cast additions - but a nod to a Halloween classic. A season of Netflix's Wednesday is like a box of chocolate, you never know what is going to crawl out. The first collection of episodes surprised fans with an incredible dance number that was simply a must-watch. Heading into the long-awaited second series, the first half of which landed today (August 6), viewers were probably wondering how they would one-up that moment. Had the creators conjured up anything extra special in the nearly three year gap to match it. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad However, it is not the new faces that catch the eye in the first episode. Here's all you need to know: Wednesday's biggest surprise is a nod to Halloween classic Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones in Wednesday season 2 | Netflix Halfway through the first episode of Wednesday's second series on Netflix, there comes a truly jaw dropping stop-motion animation sequence. It comes out of nowhere with no hints leading up to it. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The new episodes see Wednesday's brother Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez) arrive at Nevermore Academy - moving into Caliban Hall. On his first night he is told the tale of Skull Tree as part of a tradition for new arrivals in the dorm. To help illustrate the spooky story, the show features a lengthy scheme of black-and-white stop-motion animation in the style of Tim Burton's own Halloween classics Frankenweenie and the Corpse Bride. The Edward Sissorhand director is behind the camera for multiple episodes again in Wednesday season two, including the opener: Here We Woe Again. Before he turned his attention to live-action movie-making, Burton initially made his name in the world of animation. He actually worked at Disney as a storyboard artist and animator in the 1980s. After making his name with huge hits like Beetlejuice and Batman, he returned to the world of animation by directing 2005's Corpse Bride and later Frankenweenie in 2012, which was in black-and-white. He was also involved in adapting his poem The Nightmare Before Christmas into a movie, although that was directed by Henry Selick. Wednesday season two part one is now streaming on Netflix. The second volume will arrive on September 3. If you love TV, check out our Screen Babble podcast to get the latest in TV and film.

Maxwell: Trump never did anything concerning around me

Ghislaine Maxwell said Donald Trump never did anything in her presence that would cause concern, according to reports. The former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking, was interviewed by Todd Blanche, the US deputy attorney general, in July. Over nine hours of talks across two days, Maxwell was said to have been questioned about the relationships between Epstein and a host of wealthy associates, including the US president. Maxwell allegedly told Mr Blanche she had no evidence that would incriminate Mr Trump, sources familiar with the conversation told ABC News. The president has been under extreme pressure to release the Epstein files after the FBI and DoJ jointly said they would not be making them public earlier this year. A long-running conspiracy theory that the paedophile financier was murdered in his jail cell in 2019 in order to prevent a 'client list' of powerful affiliates from being released has proliferated among many of Mr Trump's supporters. The conspiracy hit fever pitch after the Trump administration released a memo saying the Department of Justice was closing the case, and that Epstein had died by suicide. Mr Trump's own supporters accused the administration of burying the so-called files, with critics suggesting he had been named in them. Pressure on the administration only increased following a Wall Street Journal report accusing Mr Trump of sending a lewd note to Epstein about the 'secrets' they shared. Mr Trump has denied ever writing the letter. The president has denied any prior knowledge of Epstein's crimes and claimed he cut off their relationship before allegations surfaced. The Trump administration is considering releasing transcripts from the Maxwell interview as soon as this week, according to ABC News. There is also said to be an audio recording of the interview, but it is not clear if that is also being considered for public release. Officials have floated the idea that Mr Blanche could release the information in a press conference or a high-profile interview, according to CNN. Joe Rogan, a viral podcaster who backed Trump for the presidency last year, has been extremely critical of the administration's handling of the Epstein case, calling it a 'line in the sand'. It comes amid reports that the Trump administration is hosting crisis talks to address how to deal with the furore surrounding the Epstein case. Senior officials will gather for dinner at the residence of JD Vance, the vice-president, on Wednesday to discuss the administration's handling of the Epstein case as the need for a unified response, sources told CNN. Among those attending are Susie Wiles, the White House chief of staff, Mr Vance, Pam Bondi, the attorney general, Kash Patel, the FBI director, and Mr Blanche, who are viewed as the top team handling the administration's approach to the Epstein case. On Tuesday, the president defended Mr Blanche's decision to speak to Maxwell, claiming that the deputy attorney general wanted to ensure that people who 'aren't involved are not hurt' by something 'very unfair'. Following the interview in Tallahassee, Florida, Maxwell was quietly moved to a lower security prison in Bryan, Texas, sparking a furious response from Epstein victims amid widespread speculation she had cut some sort of a deal. As part of an inquiry into Epstein's links to high-profile figures, the Republican-controlled House oversight committee issued nearly a dozen subpoenas to high-profile politicians on Tuesday, including to Bill Clinton, the former president, and his wife Hillary. A letter from the committee to Mr Clinton detailed his ties to Epstein and his close relationship with Maxwell. 'By your own admission, you flew on Jeffrey Epstein's private plane four separate times in 2002 and 2003,' it read. 'During one of these trips, you were even pictured receiving a 'massage' from one of Mr Epstein's victims.'

We dug up our driveway only to uncover sinister 60-year-old BUNKER with mystery code scrawled on walls

There are German phrases painted across the walls and above the doorways WHAT LIES BENEATH We dug up our driveway only to uncover sinister 60-year-old BUNKER with mystery code scrawled on walls A COUPLE discovered a World War II Nazi bunker hidden under their home in Guernsey. Bizarrely, they have decided to have a Halloween party in the eerie lair and plan to preserve the slice of history. 10 The homeowners have said they would like to preserve the lair Credit: SWNS 10 The bunker was discovered after the former owner of the house got in touch Credit: SWNS 10 The previous owner said she used to play in the bunker when she was a child Credit: SWNS Shaun, 35, and Caroline Tullier, 32, moved into their new house which they started renovating. However, as they began the process, they were stunned to discover a large bunker with two large rooms and a hallway. The chilling discovery had phrases written in German on the walls, including "achtung feind hort mit" - which translates to "beware, the enemy is listening". The couple of Torteval, Guernsey, moved into their home in October 2021. Shaun said they knew about the site being used as a German gun emplacement. However, there was always "a suspicion" there was something else there. German forces occupied the Channel Islands from 1940 until 1945 and, under Adolf Hitler's orders, turned the islands into an "impregnable fortress". Shaun said: "I was born in Guernsey, so I always knew about bunkers, but when Guernsey people came back to Guernsey after the war, they wanted to fill all the bunkers up. "A lot of people still have bunkers here, but they are down the road and in gardens - not underneath the house. "You just never knew what state these bunkers are in - where they are, how deep they are - you can't start digging all round just to try and find out. Ex Al Qaeda operative went from concocting bombs in an undercover bunker to one of MI5's most audacious spies "We knew the actual foundation of the house had been utilised as a German gun storage - but we didn't know if there were any rooms. "We always thought, 'imagine that!' but we had no factual information around it." Shaun explained how initially they pair wanted to convert their front garden into a turning point - so they dug it up, and gravelled it over during works. Shaun, who works as a carpenter, advertised chopping boards on Facebook Marketplace and his post was spotted by the former owner of the house. She got in touch with him and asked if he'd found the secret rooms under the property. He said: "The old owner of the house got in touch with me - as she recognised the very pink kitchen in the photos. She told him that she used to play inside the rooms when she was younger, but that her dad filled them in. Sean continued: "It was very interesting - so I then said to my wife, we're going to have to dig up the drive again - a week after putting it down. "I told my friend about the news, and he thought it sounded ace - so replied, if you get the digger, I'll dig it up!" They ended up digging up 100 tonne of ground and discovering the entrance to the bunker. The bunker consisted of two main rooms measuring 17ft by 10ft and 17ft by 20ft, and a hallway which is 30ft by four ft wide. From ground level to floor level of bunker is 26ft down. The couple discovered an escape hatch and the original tiled floor was littered with old bottles and rubble. Shaun labelled the discovery as "completely wild", adding "You can't really put it into words." "It's not just rooms for us, it's a part of history," he said. During the work, the family ended up putting 80 tonnes of concrete in for the walls and steps, and they are still converting the bunker into a games room - fitted with a snooker table and a gym. They are keeping the German writing on the walls too, and are hoping to have floor down and the bunker painted by November this year. Shaun added: "It's not something you find everyday! "We are definitely keeping the writing - and might get someone that can calligraphy it back on, otherwise it gets lost. Even the air getting to it has faded it a bit. "So in that way we can kind of frame it. "My wife is not happy, she wants the house done - not the bunker! "But I have promised everyone a Halloween party down there for the last three years, so fingers crossed it's happening this year - it's my duty to uphold." During the Occupation, hundreds of islanders were deported to prisons in Europe and many who remained on the islands nearly starved. Guernsey and Jersey were liberated when the occupation ended on 9 May 1945. Sark was liberated a day later, while Alderney, where most of the islanders had been forced to leave their homes, could not return until 15 December 1945. Islanders now celebrate the end of the German occupation with Liberation Day events in Guernsey, Jersey and Sark, along with Homecoming Day in Alderney. 10 Hundreds of tins, beer bottles and other waste piled up inside the bunker Credit: SWNS 10 They knew that the house had been used as a German gun emplacement Credit: SWNS 10 They had just laid down their new gravel drive but decided to dig it up to find the Nazi hideout Credit: SWNS 10 The couple said they will host a Halloween party in the bunker Credit: SWNS 10 Phrases were discovered painted on the walls Credit: SWNS 10 Shaun and Caroline Tullier (centre) were joined by the previous owner (left) and friend Ryan De Jersey during the big reveal Credit: SWNS
