Qatar Museums' Archaeology Department, in collaboration with the UNESCO Regional Office in Doha, will host a public lecture at the Museum of Islamic Art Auditorium on August 21, 2025 to mark the inaugural International Day for Underwater Cultural Heritage.
The lecture, titled 'Frameworks and Mechanisms of International Cooperation under the 2001 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage', will be delivered by Dr. Ouafa Slimane, expert Field Archaeologist.

This milestone reflects the global commitment to raising awareness of the importance of safeguarding underwater cultural heritage for future generations.
