Bucs bring a new offensive quality control coach to Josh Grizzard's new staff
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired a new offensive quality control coach, Blaine Stewart, who previously coached wide receivers at the University of West Virginia.
Stewart had spent three years with the Mountaineers as both a tight end coach and an inside receivers coach, in which one of his players was a two-time All-Big 12 Conference award winner. Stewart previously worked in the NFL under Mike Tomlin as a coaching assistant for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also a wide receiver at James Madison from 2013 to 2015 and then at the University of Charleston from 2016 to 2017.
Stuart brings a lengthy résumé of general offensive knowledge and will likely help with the practice squad and review film to enhance the offense's overall performance.
With Josh Grizzard being a first-time offensive coordinator, having someone on the staff who has worked under such a prolific coach, and Mike Tomlin, as well as multiple positions on offense, will only make the offense more dangerouss as they have wrinkles with their newest additions.

Goal drought: Tigers stumble, Swans finally fire at MCG
Sydney have strangled Richmond for a badly needed 44-point win, keeping the Tigers goal-less for more than a half at the MCG. The Swans' slogging 11.14 (80) to 4.12 (36) win in cold conditions on Saturday was only their third in 11 visits to the MCG, punctuated by two heavy grand final losses over the past three years. Sydney's record improves to 5-8, giving their season a glimmer of hope. After last weekend's last-quarter fadeout against GWS, Richmond started brightly and led by 12 points at quarter time. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sydney Swans (@sydneyswans) But the rebuilding Tigers did not kick a goal from 19 minutes in the first quarter until 22 minutes into the last - unofficially a club record. All-Australian defender Nick Blakey, derided this week by some in the media as one of the season's biggest disappointments, was outstanding with 34 disposals and eight inside 50s. Isaac Heeney starred in the midfield and James Jordon played his role to perfection as a defensive forward on in-form Richmond defender Nick Vlastuin, kicking three goals. Tigers onballer Dion Prestia was on fire in the first quarter with 13 possessions, but James Rowbottom then paid him more attention and he only had 21 for the game. Sydney ruckman Brodie Grundy also had a day out, beating Richmond captain Toby Nankervis in another crucial match-up for the Swans. Brodie Grundy keeps it alive and kicks a ripper 🔥#AFLTigersSwans — AFL (@AFL) June 7, 2025 The longer the game went, the more apparent was Nankervis's frustration. Coming off big losses to Melbourne - at the MCG - and Adelaide at home, the Swans were in big trouble early. Richmond had 10 of the first 12 inside 50s and it was 10-4 at quarter time, with the tackle count also a lopsided 11-6 in the Tigers' favour. But Sydney made the game a scrap at the start of the second term and Heeney kicked a goal at 13 minutes to give them the lead. The Swans led by 14 points at the main break and they kicked 10 unanswered goals until Seth Campbell put through his second late in the final term.

Graham Barton Graded as Weak Link in Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Line
Graham Barton Graded as Weak Link in Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Line originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a huge hole to fill in the offensive line after the retirement of Ryan Jensen. Jensen was consistently one of the best at his position throughout his career. Advertisement The team took Duke's Graham Barton with the No. 26 overall pick in 2024, hoping he could live up to the lofty standards at center that Jensen had set in place. While Barton was a guard in college, the transition was thought to be an easy one due to his raw skills. And it was. But in Pro Football Focus' latest rankings of NFL centers, Barton did not show well, ending up at No. 21. "While Barton's rookie season didn't culminate in an excellent grading profile, he showcased a solid foundation. In his second season at just 24 years old, the Buccaneers center will be hoping to build on his ability as a pass protector, where he allowed just a single sack across 640 pass sets in 2024." Advertisement Barton landed an overall grade of 55.6, which was the lowest across the Bucs' offensive line. Left tackle Tristan Wirfs earned an 82.5, left guard Ben Bredeson graded out to a 56.0, right guard Cody Mauch got a 74.6 and right tackle Luke Goedeke earned a 74.2. Notably, Barton was graded just higher than the guy he replaced, Jacksonville's Robert Hainsey, who filled in at center before he was drafted. Hainsey earned the No. 23 spot on the list. Kansas City's Creed Humphrey earned the top spot, followed by Baltimore's Tyler Linderbaum and Pittsburgh's Zach Frazier rounding out the top three. Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield Labeled as NFL's 'Most Underpaid'
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield Labeled as NFL's 'Most Underpaid' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jason Licht signed journeyman veteran quarterback Baker Mayfield to a one-year "prove-it" deal in 2023 after the retirement of legendary signal caller Tom Brady. Advertisement And "prove it" he did. Mayfield made just $4 million in his first season in Tampa Bay, posting a 64.3 completion percentage with a career-high 4,044 yards and career-best 28 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions. He made his first Pro Bowl and finished third in NFL Comeback Player of the Year voting. The 9-8 record and fourth straight playoff appearance, including a third consecutive division title for the Bucs, earned Mayfield a three-year, $100 million deal from Licht. In his first year under his new contract, he posted career highs again with 4,500. yards and 41 touchdowns while completing a career-best 71.4 percent of his passes. Advertisement That's got Mayfield as an honorable mention of sorts on players who most deserve a raise in 2025. "I didn't want to include Mayfield in The Official List of 10 above, because there are no signs as of now that he will actually get a raise just one year after inking his current contract," wrote. "But I did want to squeeze in a little discussion of him here, because he undoubtedly should make more than $33.33 million per year, which puts him below Sam Darnold, Geno Smith and Kirk Cousins on the contracts table. And, yes, that APY is roughly $20 million per year less than what Tua Tagovailoa, Jared Goff and Brock Purdy are receiving. In 2024, Mayfield was one of three QBs (joining Goff and Joe Burrow) to throw for 4,500-plus yards, while his 41 TD passes tied him for the second-most in the NFL (with Jackson, behind Burrow's 43). "Whatever you think about QB pay -- to me, every player above Mayfield absolutely deserves every penny of what the market will bear -- Mayfield's current pact stands out as a jaw-dropping discount for the Bucs."
