Galaxy Z Fold 7 wireless charging leak hints at a quiet first for Samsung
A database listing is now revealing details about the wireless charging on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The launch of the much-expected Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldable phones is now nearing. And the leaks keep coming, to leave no stone unturned before the official reveal. Now, the latest leak gives us information about the Galaxy Z Fold 7's wireless charging. An unannounced Samsung device with model number SM-D637U has been spotted in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database. Usually, the South Korea-based tech giant doesn't use SM-Dxxx model numbers for phones, but historically, it's used an SM-D617D to hide the Galaxy Z Fold 5's real model number, which was SM-F946B.
So, the SM-D637U could very well be the SM-F967U, which is the USA carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 . If that's true, then the listing in the database shows the phone will support the Qi2 rating for wireless charging.

More precisely, the certification revealed in the documents is the Qi 2.1.0 certification. If this is indeed the Fold, this would mean the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is Samsung's first foldable device that comes with a Qi2 Ready certification. Just like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it would need cases with built-in magnets for the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP). Being 'Qi2 Ready' means that the phone supports a variant of Qi2 but doesn't have alignment magnets built into its body. These Qi2 Ready devices achieve proper alignment with the wireless charger by a case or a cover. Their maximum speed for wireless charging is 15W.
Samsung has been rumored to be working on faster wireless charging tech, but this tech will not make it on the upcoming foldable phone . Also, it has not been introduced yet to any Galaxy, for that matter. Meanwhile, Samsung is said to be involved in developing the Qi 2.2 standard. A new wireless charging chip by the company could support up to 50W wireless charging speeds. But that's for the future.
In the meantime, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to sport the same 4,400mAh battery as its predecessor, as well as the same wired charging speed: 25W. While other competitors are now achieving faster charging for their phones (one example is the 80W wired charging on the Oppo Find N5), Samsung seems to have decided to play it safe this year and stick (reportedly) with the same speeds. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be unveiled in 'early July' alongside the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 7. Recently, a Geekbench leak all but confirmed earlier rumors that the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy may power the Fold, while the Flip may come with a dual-chip strategy.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will announce some new features for the AirPods during next Monday's Keynote on the first day of WWDC. Apple is reportedly working on some new head gestures following through on the ones it added to the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4. Conversation Awareness allows you to better hear someone talking right in front of you by lowering media sounds and reducing background noise. Another new AirPods feature Apple is reportedly working on is one that will detect when a user is sleeping and will automatically halt playback if that is the case. Apple could have this feature work with the sleep detection capabilities of the Apple Watch. AirPods camera control is supposedly coming. A click on the AirPods stem will allow the user to snap a picture using an iPhone or an iPad camera. Apple is also looking to improve the way AirPods pair with shared iPads. This would impact students in classrooms where multiple users often share iPads. Apple hopes to make it easier to pair AirPods with its tablets. Also believed to be under development is a microphone mode for AirPods which could drive sales of the wearables to content creators looking for a high-quality "studio microphone." Apple could make the "studio microphone" part of the "Audio Mix" feature on the iPhone 16 that improves the audio recorded on videos you've taken. This feature uses machine learning to figure out what is background noise so it can be separated from the user's voice and improved. The report notes that Apple could decide to change or eliminate some of these features before the WWDC Keynote kicks off June 9th at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT. Apple won't be making WWDC all about AI like it did last year and much of the focus will probably be on changes being made to the different operating systems Apple develops for its devices. Already we know that Apple will officially announce a name change that replaces version numbers with the last two digits of the upcoming year. For example, iOS 19 will be known instead as iOS 26. Entire Google Pixel 10 lineup's colors leak
According to a fresh new leak, the Google Pixel 10 will be offered in four colorways: Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, and Midnight. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL will both get Sterling Gray, Light Porcelain, Midnight, and Smoky Green, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be sold in Sterling Gray and Smoky Green only. As you could definitely tell if you're a Pixel colorway naming connoisseur, Midnight is replacing Obsidian as the closest thing to black in the lineup - but it is said to be lighter than Obsidian was. So think of it more as a dark gray (with Sterling Gray being lighter gray) rather than black-ish. Ultra Blue is like "royal blue", Iris is the same color used in the Pixel 9a, Limoncello is "a mid-tone color", whatever that means, Light Porcelain is "a bit more off-white" versus the Porcelain (sans "Light") Google's used before, and Smoky Green is a dark green hue. The Pixel 10 series has most recently been rumored to be unveiled on August 20, which is also when pre-orders are apparently due to start. Samsung's upcoming flagship tablet is getting tough competition months before launch

One of the brands that are trying to gain a little bit of market share before Samsung introduces its new flagships is Honor. The Chinese company is almost ready to launch its top-tier slate, the MagicPad 3. The MagicPad 3 is supposed to be introduced sometime in June, which is why Chinese tipsters have already started to leak information about the upcoming flagship tablet. Famous leaker Digital Chat Station has just posted on Weibo MagicPad 3's key specs, and judging from what they're claiming, it appears that the MagicPad 3 might not bring so many upgrades as it should if Honor wants to convince customers their products are better than the competition's. The first disappointment is that the MagicPad 3 apparently comes with a slightly downgraded display. The previous model, MagicPad 2, has a 12.3-inch OLED display with 1920 x 3000 pixels resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the MagicPad 3 is rumored to feature a 13.2-inch LCD display, probably with a similar 144Hz refresh rate. The main issue is that the quality of panel (OLED vs. LCD) is definitely in favor of the MagicPad 2. On the bright side, the MagicPad 3 seems to have a slightly higher display, so that's a plus for those who are looking for very big tablets. Besides that, the reliable tipster says the MagicPad 3 will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which isn't too bad even though this chipset was launched two years ago. The fact that the Galaxy Tab S11 is said to pack MediaTek's Dimensity 9400, a chipset released last year, even the odds a bit. For reference, the MagicPad 2 has a 10,050 mAh battery with 66W wired charging support, so there doesn't seem to be any changes when it comes to charging MagicPad 3 will be introduced at some point in June and should be available in three different colors – Moon Shadow White, Floating Gold and Starry Sky Gray, at least that's what the tip says.
