Meghan Markle planning expansion of her lifestyle and wellness line only weeks after taking ‘step back'
The Duchess of Sussex has adjusted beyond selling more than just jam and flower sprinkles. According to documents obtained by Page Six, Meghan will be adding 'hospitality services in the nature of provision of food and drink' and 'hospitality services in the nature of provision of temporary accommodation' to her business.
These hospitality services would potentially include hotels and restaurants.
The Independent has reached out to representatives of Meghan for comment.
The news comes less than one week after the Duchess announced that As Ever will be restocking some of its highly sought-after products.
She teased the return of her products on Tuesday, writing on her Instagram: ''June Gloom?' Not over here! Because this month your favorite products are back.'
Meghan then issued a call-out to sign up to the brand's mailing list for fans to find out details and timing.
Products, including $15 Flower Sprinkles, $14 Raspberry Spread in Keepsake Packaging, $28 Limited-Edition Wildflower Honey with Honeycomb, $12 Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea, $12 Herbal Hibiscus Tea, and $12 Herbal Peppermint Tea from the first As Ever launch in April, sold out in less than an hour.
A date for the restock has not yet been revealed.
The news came after the Duchess said in an interview with Fast Company that she was planning to 'assess' new avenues for her brand as she wants to take a 'step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what As Ever could be.'
'I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer's needs are seasonally,' Meghan told the publication.
'My heart is very deeply in my home. Everything comes from being rooted in the love story of your home and garden, and then you can imagine different verticals coming out of that.'
Asked whether she might explore moving into clothing one day, Meghan responded: 'Fashion is a category I plan to explore down the line because I find it to be an intriguing space for me.'
She further echoed her decision to 'pause' production for As Ever during an episode of her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast on Tuesday with her guest, Tina Knowles.
As she and Knowles were discussing the amount of work and testing that went into their respective products, Meghan admitted she wasn't sure what to do after seeing all of her products sell out in 45 minutes.
'Then what do you do? You say, OK. We planned as best as we could,' she said. 'Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour, or is that annoying as a customer?'

Bobbi Althoff ends 'Really Good Podcast' with surprise final episode
Bobbi Althoff has said goodbye to "The Really Good Podcast" with a really out of the blue final episode. After over two years, the 28-year-old social media influencer has bid farewell to her podcast known for viral awkward celebrity interviews with stars from Drake and Scarlett Johansson to Mark Cuban. "Rest in peace, 'The Really Good Podcast.' It was a fun run," Althoff wrote on a Thursday, July 31 Instagram post that featured a snippet of the final episode. It opened with her singing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." The Los Angeles native said the decision to pull the plug was entirely hers and not influenced by external factors. She explained that while she thought the podcast's lifespan would last longer, she is proud of the success she's received. "I don't think there's any really good way to say this, but this is the last episode," Althoff said in Thursday's episode, in which she wore a black dress. "So, today, we're gonna put on a little funeral for it." She then reflected on some of her popular deadpan interviews, including with Charlie Puth, Jason DeRulo, Shaq, Maluma, Jessica Alba, Michael Cera and Mark Maron. 'It has been a dream, every second of it' Althoff said the podcast has far exceeded her expectations. "This podcast started off with just a girl with a dream to make more money," she quipped. "I'm proud of the accomplishments I've had." Debuting in June 2023, "The Really Good Podcast" has frequently generated viral moments on social media, topped podcast charts and even landed Althoff an iHeart Podcast Award last year in the Best Emerging Podcast category. Arguably, her most popular interview was with rapper Drake on her bed that garnered over 1 billion views and 300 million likes before it was ultimately removed on all platforms, according to Deadline. Althoff seamlessly entered a field of beloved celebrity interview shows known for unconventional charm. They include Sean Evans's spicy wing themed "Hot Ones" to Amelia Dimoldenberg's flirtatious "Chicken Shop Date" series.

Gen Xer is qualified but can't land a job — he thinks this is the bizarre reason why: ‘I may never ever get hired again'
He's too old for this. A Gen Xer sparked a fiery conversation about ageism in the workplace — and many agreed with his sentiment. 'I may never ever get hired again,' Bradley Richardson, a 58-year-old who now peddles 'adulting' courses online, said in an Instagram video. He claimed that despite having skills and experience, he believes his age now disqualifies him from traditional employment. 'I will make money, but I may never be an employee or get a job ever again because of my age,' he said. His post quickly gained traction with nearly 30,000 likes and over 4,000 comments. Richardson's concerns resonated with many Gen Xers and Boomers, who echoed his sentiment that ageism is a real barrier in today's job market. Some pointed to the added challenges faced by older workers from marginalized communities, where their race, gender, and sexuality further worsen the discrimination. A survey conducted by resume-building site Resume Now proved all of their worries to be true. It pointed out that, sadly, 90% of workers over the age of 40 have experienced ageism in the workplace, and almost half of the respondents witnessed their employer hiring predominantly young workers. Many people empathized with the Gen Xer in the comment section of his viral video. 'I'm 46 and I'm already feeling it in my industry.' 'I'm 42 and I feel this hard.' Many people in the comment section of his video also believe ageism in the workplace is a real thing. Prostock-studio – Others insisted their skills remain valuable and said they continue to find work with companies that prioritize experience and reliability. 'I was thinking the very same at the age of 58 I needed to find work. Took a few months but it happened. Best company ever. I'm old enough to be everyone's father but they love me and I love them.' Many others in the comment section had encouraging words for the Gen Xer. Prostock-studio – 'I just hired a 60 and 63 yo because they were amazing candidates. Age doesn't matter.' 'I got a job at 62. I just turned 65, told the company I think I want to retire. They told me 'you can't leave us' and handed me an 8% raise. Good people can always get a job at any age!' If you think you are experiencing ageism where you work — maybe you got laid off due to your age or passed up for a promotion by a younger colleague — Midtown East attorney Albert Rizzo suggests speaking to an employment attorney. 'An attorney will want to understand what actions the employer has taken and whether those actions were based on the employee's age,' said Rizzo. 'Any adverse action may create a viable claim. These actions can include failure to promote, denial of privileges given to other employees, exclusion from meetings and projects.'
