Negeri Sembilan NCID destroys RM6.7 million in drug-case evidence
The evidence included 21,075 grammes of ecstasy pills valued at RM3.5 million.
Other items disposed of were 89,921 grammes of methamphetamine worth RM2.91 million.
Ketamine weighing 1277.34 grammes (RM105,468) and 5,428.9 grammes of heroin (RM58,722) were also destroyed.
Additionally, 33.46 grammes of vape liquid (RM33,470) were disposed of.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the destruction involved completed cases from 2001 to July 2025.
He stated that the evidence was stored in the state's narcotics case evidence store.
A total of 2,076 investigation papers were linked to the disposed items.
Ahmad Dzaffir also revealed that the NCID arrested 4,713 individuals in the first seven months of 2025.
Among those arrested were 2,734 drug addicts and 1,313 individuals for drug possession.
Another 664 suspects were detained for drug trafficking.
Asset seizures during this period amounted to RM6.534 million.
**TAIPING:** In a separate operation, Taiping police destroyed evidence from criminal cases worth RM355,292.
Taiping district police chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail said the items were linked to 40 completed investigation papers.
The cases involved gambling, bitcoin, fireworks, and contraband from 2011 to 2025.
Seized items included 427 bitcoin mining rigs worth RM106,750.
Other destroyed evidence comprised cigarettes valued at over RM280,000.
Alcohol worth RM1,753.55 and gambling equipment worth RM10,000 were also disposed of. - Bernama

Following the results of the autopsy, the case was classified as a sudden death and not related to criminal elements. However, in June 2016, the Coroner's Court ruled that Wan Faris' death was caused by the actions of an unknown individual, thus ruling out the possibility of suicide. 'Unfortunately for the victim's family, his death didn't receive wide coverage with his family having to cope with injustice surrounding his death,' the human rights activist and lawyer pointed out in a YouTube video. 'He was found hanging only wearing a black jacket outside his red t-shirt without any long pants, short pants nor men's brief while his genital was exposed. A pair of black long pants was found clogged in the toilet hole.' Editor's Note: On July 28, Wan Faris' family has filed a civil suit against three main parties, namely the Malaysian Government, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the investigating officer of the case. The legal action came after the victim's mother, Ruhani Hussin, 70, sought to unearth the truth as well as to seek justice for her son. This came about after a group of legal experts comprising political activist and former federal lawyer at the Attorney-Geneal's Chamber (AGC) Liyana Marzuki pooled their resources together in February this year to help the family on a pro bono basis. Endless drag Referencing court filings, Siti Kasim further revealed that Wan Faris had on Dec 9, 2013 engaged in a quarrel with some unidentified pupils. 'To cut a long story short, there is a mess or sheer incompetence in the conduct of the entire investigation process,' fumed Siti Kasim 'We must question the reluctance and hesitation by the relevant authorities to conduct investigation and reach a final verduct to a death more than a dozen years ago and the devastation endured by the victim's family.' She added: I'm unable to fathom how incidents of this nature continue to occur at (boarding) religious schools when the pupils are expected to be role models as they are exposed to religion and are even able to memorise the holy scripture. But sadly, bullying and other undesirable incidents tend to be a trend at religious schools with the authorities doing their utmost best to cover up probably because they're embarrassed that such cases involve religious initiations. I hope Wan Faris' family will eventually obtain justice like Zara … I urge social media influencers out there to revive this case so that the authorities concerned will pay attention to similar cases especially at boarding schools. As it is, the exhumation of Zara's remains for a proper post-mortem is attributable to immense public pressure when an autopsy should have been automatically conducted. There's a systemic problem in our country with the government having failed to inculcate professionalism in civil servants on the adherence of SOPs (standard operating procedures) or to prevent incidents of this nature from recurring. – Aug 11, 2025
