Lotus's European boss has reportedly stepped down after a tumultuous few months in post

Close Lotus Europe boss Matt Windle is leaving the business after just four months in the role, according to the Financial Times. The FT reports that Windle has been "absent from significant meetings over the past few weeks", following a stormy reaction to the recent news that Lotus parent company Geely had drawn up plans to end production at the firm's Hethel factory in Norfolk. The Chinese company quickly scrapped the plans to move Emira production to the US after they were widely reported, with the UK government reportedly having stepped in to offer support to protect British jobs.
