Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver Wishes Jalen Ramsey Well Amid Trade Rumors
Jalen Ramsey of the Miami Dolphins is on the trade block, and with both sides mutually agreeing to part ways, it's only a matter of time before a deal is struck. While Ramsey is still a Dolphin, the future where he dons a new jersey isn't far off.
For Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, he finally shared his thoughts on losing an All-Pro and potential future Hall of Famer in Ramsey.

In an article from C. Isaiah Smalls II in The Miami Herald, Weaver commented on Ramsey leaving the Dolphins and how he's approaching the job going forward.
Weaver said, "In this game, things change by the day. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ramsey. He played very good ball for us, but relationships are hard. Both sides have mutually chosen to go the other way. I respect that and wish him nothing but the best."
Losing a player of Ramsey's caliber will be a challenge for the Dolphins. During his illustrious NFL career, Ramsey has been named an All-Pro three times and a Pro Bowler seven times.

Between his time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and Dolphins, Ramsey has 24 interceptions and 108 pass breakups. He's also allowed quarterbacks to have a passer rating of just 76.5 when he's targeted.

In Miami, Ramsey has been named to one Pro Bowl in 2023, with his 2024 season being the first year he wasn't named to the Pro Bowl since 2019.
The Dolphins gave Ramsey a huge three-year, $72.1 million extension ahead of the 2024 season. But less than a year later, Ramsey is on his way out. Weaver acknowledged the challenge he'll face, but he doesn't want any sympathy for his situation.
"I'm not getting any sympathy cards from anybody. It's my job, and our job collectively as a staff, to find a way to make these pieces work. What I know is every player that is here is trying to get better and has bought in."
The Dolphins' new-look cornerback room will feature Storm Duck, Kader Kohou, Artie Burns, Cam Smith, Jason Marshall Jr., Kendall Sheffield, Isaiah Johnson, Ethan Bonner, and Jason Maitre.

While in need of upgrades across the board, the Dolphins have been connected to multiple free-agent cornerbacks like Rasul Douglas and Asante Samuel Jr.
Regardless of whether anyone is added, Weaver is ready for the challenge and will find a way to get the most out of the pieces in the cornerback room that they have.

Lions beat Bills, Commanders in ESPN's Trey Hendrickson trade bidding war
The post Lions beat Bills, Commanders in ESPN's Trey Hendrickson trade bidding war appeared first on ClutchPoints. Trey Hendrickson is one of the biggest names on the NFL trade market. Over the last two seasons, Hendrickson has been one of the best defensive players in the league and will immediately make a team better by being on their roster. His future remains in question, and the latest rumor has the Detroit Lions making a move for the four-time Pro Bowler. Advertisement ESPN predicted the scenario in place with the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, and Washington Commanders making a push for Henrickson. Jeremy Fowler predicted the Colts' offer, Dan Graziano did the Bills, Ben Solak the Lions, and Seth Walder predicted the Commanders' offer. Here is a breakdown of each one from ESPN: Colts offer: 2026 second-round pick + 2027 fifth-round pick for Hendrickson. 'Why this deal makes sense for both sides: This sort of urgent move from Indy general manager Chris Ballard would solidify the edge of new coordinator Lou Anarumo's defense. Anarumo would gladly reunite with Hendrickson after they spent four seasons together in Cincinnati.' Advertisement Bills offer: 2026 second-round pick for Hendrickson. 'Why this deal makes sense for both sides: The Bengals have made it clear they don't want to give away Hendrickson, so I'm not even sure the Bills' (likely late) second-rounder would be enough. But if the Bengals' demands drop, I could see Buffalo pouncing to secure the veteran edge rusher it needs to take down Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.' Lions offer: 2026 second-round pick + 2027 fourth-round pick (can become third-rounder with performance conditions) for Hendrickson + 2026 sixth-rounder. 'Why this deal makes sense for both sides: Lions general manager Brad Holmes has acknowledged the fan base wants a secondary edge rusher far more than he does, but I imagine a player of Hendrickson's caliber would change Holmes' calculus slightly. Hendrickson isn't the sort of run defender the Lions might prioritize, yet a pass-rush duo of Aidan Hutchinson and Hendrickson might be the scariest in the NFL.' Advertisement Commanders offer: DT JerZhan Newton + 2026 third-round pick + 2027 seventh-round pick for Hendrickson. 'Why this deal makes sense for both sides: Washington is in win-now mode, but Dorance Armstrong is its best edge rusher. Adding Hendrickson, who recorded the second-best pass rush win rate at edge last season (24%), would be a huge boost.' Verdict: Lions win the offer and receive Hendrickson for the two draft picks. This would be a win-win for both teams. Clearly, the Bengals cannot afford to keep Hendrickson long term, and being able to receive a second-round pick plus a potential third rounder, the Bengals will be able to attempt to replace Hendrickson with a younger player in the upcoming 2o26 draft. The Lions get Hendrickson to pair with Aidan Hutchinson and improve their stellar defense. Pittsburgh Steelers trade for Pro Bowl weapon viewed as more likely after season-ending injury
The status of the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense is largely in flux. They still don't know who their starting quarterback will be, but odds are it will be one of Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, or Mason Rudolph. If it's the first two, Pittsburgh may want to act quickly to get them on the team before the Steelers' mandatory minicamp kicks off on June 10. Going further, the Steelers' group of pass-catchers could still see some changes too. Of course, we've already seen a fair bit of roster transactions in Pittsburgh already, trading for DK Metcalf and shipping George Pickens out of town. Advertisement The Pickens trade has led to further speculation that the Steelers could still add another complementary weapon for their offense. Now, after Steelers tight end Donald Parham Jr suffered a season-ending Achilles tear, the Steelers could amplify their trade efforts. Specifically, the Steelers have been linked to a trade for Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl tight end Jonnu Smith. Perhaps it's no coincidence then that on the same day news broke of Parham's injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Steelers have 'renewed' trade discussions for Smith. While the Steelers already have a starting tight end in Pat Freiermuth and another intriguing talent in 2023 third-round pick Darnell Washington, offensive coordinator Arthur Smith frequently likes to use multiple tight ends for different roles, and he already has a built-in familiarity with Smith from their time together in Atlanta and Tennessee. In other words, the Steelers trading for Smith makes a lot of sense, but are the Dolphins willing to play ball? After all, he's their starting tight end, and the Dolphins didn't draft anyone at the position either. Advertisement Of course, it's always possible that Miami negotiates a trade that brings back one of Freiermuth or Washington and installs him as their starter too. Lions add veteran Trystan Colon to offensive line that lost center Frank Ragnow to retirement
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have added depth on their depleted offensive line, signing veteran Trystan Colon. Detroit waived/injured cornerback Divaad Wilson on Wednesday to clear a roster spot. The Lions lost their starting center to retirement earlier this week. Frank Ragnow, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, called it a career after seven seasons with a slew of injuries. Colon has started at least one game in each of his five NFL seasons. He started in a career-high seven games and played in a career-high 17 games last year with the Arizona Cardinals. Colon played center earlier in his career with the Baltimore Ravens. ___
