Rajkummar Rao's gritty gangster action movie 'Maalik' has held up well at the box office during its first weekend of release. The film, which was released to significant anticipation, appears to be benefiting from strong word-of-mouth, compelling storytelling, and an exceptional performance by Rajkummar Rao as the hero.
On its third day of release, Rajkummar Rao's recent gangster action film "Maalik" maintained its strong weekend performance at the box office. Based on early estimates, the movie made almost the same amount on Sunday as it did on Saturday, capping off its debut weekend well. On July 11, the movie was released. In the movie, Manushi Chhillar has a big part.
Maalik box office collection day 3
According to Sacnilk, the Rajkummar Rao-starrer "Maalik" saw a solid result on Saturday, with collections reaching Rs 5.25 crore, after earning about Rs 3.75 crore on its opening day (Friday).
This enthusiasm continued on Sunday, as early trends once more suggested a collection of Rs 5.25 crore. This raises Maalik's projected weekend total revenue to Rs 14.25 crore, which is a respectable outcome for a movie in a genre that mainly depends on positive box office reception.
Maalik box office 'occupancy'
Peak activity occurred during evening and night shows, and occupancy rates were largely evenly balanced throughout regions. The movie's average Hindi (2D) occupancy on Sunday was 22.81% at night and 29.79% during evening screenings. With an occupancy rate of 22.43% in the afternoon and 8.05% in the morning, earlier slots fared better.
With a remarkable 43% occupancy rate, Chennai was the strongest market geographically. Notable turnouts in the National Capital Region (23.25%), Jaipur (24.25%), and Lucknow (30.25%) came next. Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai, on the other hand, had more consistent but moderate attendance rates, ranging from 18% to 22%.
The movie received a lacklustre reception in places like Hyderabad and Bhopal, but it received the boost it needed from its steady attendance in North and West Indian markets.
About the 'Maalik' cast and plot
Starring Rajkummar Rao, Manushi Chhillar, and well-known Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, Maalik is a gripping tale of power, ambition, and retribution set against the politically volatile background of Allahabad.
"Maalik," which was directed by Pulkit and produced by Jay Shewakramani and Kumar Taurani, is full of tension, emotional scenes, and surprising turns. On July 11, 2025, it will be released in theatres. Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 25: Aamir Khan movie struggles to retain momentum, earnings plunge 86%

worldwide Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 25: Aamir Khan's sports drama seems to be struggling at the box office after its 4th weekend comeback. Finding it difficult to retain momentum, earnings plunged 86% on Monday, July 14. Made on a budget of ₹ 80 crore, the emotional drama missed ₹ 1 crore mark by a big margin on fourth Monday and managed to rake in ₹ 41 lakh net at the domestic box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings 25-day India box office total to ₹ 161.01 crore net. Over this weekend, the movie collected a massive ₹ 5.34 crore net by amassing ₹ 2.5 crore net earnings on Saturday followed by ₹ 2.85 crore net on Sunday. A significant drop in footfall was witnessed on July 14 as Sitaare Zameen Par registered an overall 9.98 percent Hindi occupancy on Monday. This Bollywood movie, directed by RS Prasanna, opened to ₹ 10.7 crore net on June 20. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is Amir Khan's fifth career best after 3 Idiots and needs around ₹ 50 crore net more to topple its record. For lead actress Genelia Deshmukh, the 'spiritual' successor to Taare Zameen Par is her career best after 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na.' Considering global performance, the remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions grossed ₹ 245.90 crore at the worldwide box office in 24 days. It raked in ₹ 191.90 crore gross in India and the remaining ₹ 54 crore came from overseas market. Earlier, Aamir Khan declared that the film would not be release on OTT, but according to the latest reports, there is some change in the plan. Giving full control over the movie's release window and pricing, the makers are considering a pay-per-view release on YouTube. 'It's a very brave idea. The eight-week window is a normal trend in Bollywood (to release the film after eight weeks on the digital platform), and Aamir Khan has decided against that. He has not even sold the digital rights yet. I think it's a very brave step. He had offers, but he still did not get tempted by those offers and did not sign the deal,' Fortune India quoted film trade analyst Taran Adarsh as saying.

This 1 hour 26 minute horror film wasn't released in theatres; made on a budget of Rs 2 crore, it earned Rs 1600 crore in just 7 days, not Conjuring or Annabelle, film is…

If you are a fan of horror films then this film is for you. Although it has got a rating of only 6.3 on IMDb, despite this it remains one of the highest grossing horror films in history. There are neither any big stars in it nor any grand visuals, but its magic at the box office was such that people have not been able to forget it to date. The best horror film to watch online We are talking about the Paranormal Activity film, which was shot with a single camera. Yet, it created a legacy by scaring millions of people. It was a 2007 supernatural thriller film starring Katie Featherston and Mika Slott in the lead roles. It was written, directed, and produced by Oren Peli. This was director Oren Peli's first film, which he shot at his home. There was no money spent on location nor much pomp and show. There was only one camera. He took care of everything from direction to editing. The actors of this film are no strangers. Initially, the cost of this film was only about 12 lakh rupees. But later it increased and reached 2 crores. What was the budget of Paranormal Activity? The budget of the Paranormal Activity film increased because famous director Steven Spielberg, after watching the film, reshot some scenes, especially the climax. This increased the total budget of the film to $215,000 (about Rs 2 crore). What makes Paranormal Activity so scary? Talking about the story of the Paranormal Activity film, a young couple is haunted by an invisible ghost. Doors move on their own, footsteps in the dark, things like these gradually increase the tension. Without bloodshed, without scary sounds, the makers have scared the audience by showing a simple setup and normal life. This is why people find it very connecting. Why was Paranormal Activity not released in theatres? The film was not released in all theaters simultaneously. It was initially shown in college towns. People who watched the film started talking about it online. The makers took advantage of this excitement, and Paramount Pictures gradually increased the number of theaters. Brilliant marketing behind the Paranormal Activity box office collection It told the fan, 'If you want to see this movie in your city, ask for it.' This new kind of marketing skill was seen. It was eventually released in 1945 theaters and became a blockbuster, earning $193 million (about Rs 1,660 crore) worldwide. This was a new turning point in the history of horror films. Firstly, the budget was low, and on top of that, the earnings were super high. However, despite the average IMDb rating, 'Paranormal Activity' changed the trend of horror films. It proved that a big budget is not required to scare or be a hit. Where to watch Paranormal Activity? 'Paranormal Activity' (2007) is now available for streaming on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. Horror movie lovers can enjoy it on OTT, but keep in mind that it is quite scary and may disturb you.
