‘Comeback? Phir se?': Kajol announces The Trial Season 2 with a hilarious promo. Watch
Kajol is set to return with The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon Aur Dhoka which is set to release on 19 September on JioHotstar.
Kajol introduces season two of The Trial
On Wednesday, Kajol took to her Instagram and shared an interesting video to introduce the show. The video opens with Kajol on a production set, asking casually, 'Haan batao, kya karna hai?' She begins her announcement with the classic, 'Hi, I'm Kajol and I'm happy to announce that I'm coming back…' But mid-sentence, she abruptly stops, visibly annoyed by the word 'comeback.'
'Comeback? Phir se? Hadd ho gayi yaar! Kitni baar comeback karungi main? Non-stop kaam karo, phir bhi I'm making a comeback? Gayi kahan thi main?' 'Aur ab tum log bologe, 'Kajol humpe chillaa rahi hai.' Haan, bas yehi do cheezen karti hoon main—chillana aur wapas aana! ("Comeback? Again? This is too much, yaar! How many times will I make a comeback? I keep working non-stop, yet I'm 'making a comeback'? Where did I even go? And now you all will say, 'Kajol is yelling at us.' Yes, that's all I ever do, right? Yell and come back!")
Just then, a crew member interrupts her to point out that she's reading the wrong side of the cue card. Embarrassed but amused, Kajol flips it, lets out a sheepish smile, and starts over—this time calmly delivering the official announcement: 'Hi, I'm Kajol, and I'm happy to announce that I'm coming back with Season 2 of my show The Trial—Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha.'
Fans instantly flooded the comment section with laughter emojis, memes, and love, praising her comic timing and unfiltered charm.
About The Trial Season 1
The show marked Kajol's OTT debut, introducing audiences to the world of Noyonika Sengupta—a housewife forced to return to her legal career after her husband, a respected judge, is arrested in a public scandal. The Disney+ Hotstar series, an Indian adaptation of the American show The Good Wife, blends courtroom drama with personal conflict, exploring themes of betrayal, ambition, and justice. Season 2 is set to premiere on 19 September on JioHotstar.

Mouni Roy On Being Typecast After Naagin, Sati And Kyunki: 'I've Always Dealt With…'
Last Updated: Mouni Roy opens up on being typecast in Bollywood for her glamourous roles. The actress says she still has been stereotyped since the beginning of her career. From Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's sweet girl-next-door to the serpent queen in Naagin and the fierce Junoon in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmāstra, Mouni Roy has played it all. Now, she's switching gears and stepping into uncharted territory – she is taking on the role of a spy in JioHotstar's upcoming espionage series Salakaar. While the project marks a fresh chapter in her career, Mouni says the journey so far hasn't been without its labels. She has often been slotted into a certain kind of image – something she has learned to take in her stride. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Mouni said, 'I have been typecast since the beginning of my career. When I did Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, people said the girl next door can't play a glam part. When I did a few reality shows, dance reality shows, they said I was too glamorous. When I did Sati, they said I was too Indian. When I did Naagin, it was 'she can only do fantasy fiction or mythological shows.' That's something I've always dealt with, and it doesn't really bother me. It doesn't matter whether you call me glamorous, stylish, or anything else – like saying she's good for a certain kind of role. When I did Brahmāstra or Bhootnii, they said she's good for these… not larger-than-life, but more outlandish roles. She can play these parts well. As long as – whether it's glam, outlandish, girl next door, or dancing – if you can see that I'm putting in my hard work and 100%, and it resonates with the audience and they receive it well, you receive it well – that's my takeaway from it." Speaking of the kind of roles she wants to do, Mouni said, 'I'm hungry – a greedy actor, in the right sense – because I want to be part of great scripts, good storytelling and work with different, like-minded people. I also want to take on roles I haven't done before; that's very important to me. If you ask me for one dream role, it would be an Indian Broadway-style musical – maybe the story of a Kathak dancer or something like that." Mouni Roy Movies And TV Shows Mouni Roy began her career on television with shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and rose to fame with Naagin. She later moved to films, making her Bollywood debut in Gold and going on to appear in projects like Made in China, Brahmāstra, and Romeo Akbar Walter. Over the years, she has taken on a mix of TV, film, and OTT roles, proving her versatility as an actor. Mouni Roy Husband On the personal front, Mouni Roy is married to Suraj Nambiar, a Dubai-based businessman, and the couple tied the knot in January 2022 in a traditional ceremony that combined South Indian and Bengali customs.
