Rebecca Romijn On Reprising Her Role In Avengers: Doomsday
This isn't the first time Rebecca Romijn has returned to her iconic role as Mystique. She reprised the character in X2 (2003), followed by a prominent appearance in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), which marked her final outing with significant screen time. Romijn later made a brief cameo as Mystique in X-Men: First Class (2011), after which the role was taken over by Jennifer Lawrence.
Now, with Romijn once again donning the role of Mystique for Avengers: Doomsday, the experience has been nothing short of surreal. Sharing her excitement, she said, 'We're currently shooting and filming now, and it's been wonderful so far."
Rebecca Romijn On Her Future Roles, Having A Motherhood Relevance
In the same conversation, Romijn, who is mother to daughters Dolly O'Connell and Charlie Tamara Tulip O'Connell, said that she's increasingly mindful of the roles she takes on.
'I am a mother of girls, and so it's very important to choose roles that are positive role models for my daughters and for other young ladies around the world," she said. She added that being away from her children for long stretches while on location makes this responsibility even more significant. 'I don't take it lightly."
She added, 'I want to be proud of the work that I get to come back and show them, especially within the 'Star Trek' and genres of science fiction and comic books. I really enjoy playing female characters that are multifaceted and often just as strong as the male characters. It's important to me."
Avengers: Doomsday Cast
Apart from Romjin, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming and James Marsden, Robert Downey Jr. will be seen in Avengers: Doomsday. It's set to release in December 2026.

Are Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur the newest couple in B-town? The internet certainly seems to think so. Dating rumours are gaining momentum after the two were spotted sharing warm moments at multiple recent events. It all began on August 1, when Dhanush attended Mrunal's star-studded birthday bash. A now-viral inside video from the party shows the actor holding Mrunal's hand during an intimate interaction, instantly setting social media abuzz. Adding fuel to the fire, just hours earlier, Dhanush was also seen flying to Mumbai to attend the special screening of Son of Sardaar 2, which stars Mrunal alongside Ajay Devgn. A video from the event, shared widely on X (formerly Twitter), captured the duo in conversation. Mrunal can be seen leaning in to whisper something to Dhanush, sparking even more curiosity among fans. 'Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating?" one caption read, triggering a range of fan reactions. 'Unconfirmed, but there are some hints," one user commented. 'I think they are just friends," said another. A few expressed disbelief, with one fan writing, 'Really? I can't believe." Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating? — Aryan (@Pokeamole_) August 3, 2025 Interestingly, this isn't the first time Mrunal and Dhanush have been spotted together. On July 3, the actress was seen at a party hosted by writer-producer Kanika Dhillon for Dhanush's upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein. In pictures shared by Kanika, Mrunal and Dhanush were seen posing together, smiling brightly with the film's team in the background. Kanika's caption added a sentimental touch: 'Our hearts are full! Our OG Raanjhanaa in the house Dhanush – we love you! With friends old and new – big smiles, bigger hearts! Grateful for the memories." As of now, neither Dhanush nor Mrunal has commented on the rumours, keeping fans guessing about the nature of their bond. Dhanush was previously married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth for 18 years before they announced their separation in 2022. The former couple met on the day of his film Kadhal Kondaen's release in 2003. On the work front, Dhanush is gearing up for Tere Ishk Mein opposite Kriti Sanon, slated to release on November 28. Mrunal's latest film, Son of Sardaar 2, hit theatres on August 1. Panchayat Actor Faisal Malik Defends Anurag Kashyap's Rants: ‘Imaandaar Aadmi Satak Jata Hai'
Faisal, who began his acting journey with Kashyap's cult film Gangs of Wasseypur, described the filmmaker as someone who's worn multiple hats. Panchayat actor Faisal Malik has come out in strong support of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, offering an empathetic view on the director's often fiery social media posts. In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Faisal explained that Kashyap's outbursts should be seen not as impulsive tantrums but as passionate reactions of a man deeply invested in the craft of filmmaking. Faisal, who began his acting journey with Kashyap's cult film Gangs of Wasseypur, described the filmmaker as someone who's worn multiple hats including director, writer, producer, showrunner, and poured his heart into every role. 'If you look at Anurag Kashyap's work, you will understand why these outbursts happen. He is extremely loyal. Aur imaandaar aadmi tedha hota hai thoda sa. Satak jata hai," he said, suggesting that Kashyap's honesty and integrity often manifest as emotional reactions. The actor emphasised that Kashyap's commitment to his artistic vision has made him a trailblazer, not just in the kind of stories he tells, but also in the talent he has nurtured. 'He has given several amazing directors to the industry. They are all doing so well today. This proves he is extremely dedicated to cinema," Faisal noted, underscoring that Anurag's influence goes beyond his own filmography. Faisal further added, 'So, whenever someone wrongs him or wants him to compromise with his craft, woh satak jaate hai. When it comes to cinema, he is a great man." Known for his powerful performance as Prahlad in Panchayat, Faisal's own trajectory reflects a deep appreciation for rooted, honest storytelling—values he clearly associates with Kashyap. The web series, which gained popularity during the pandemic, resonated with audiences through its simplicity and emotional depth. Featuring an ensemble cast of Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Jitendra Kumar, and Chandan Roy, Panchayat has become a household favourite and a benchmark for small-town narratives told with heart. Dhanashree Verma has finally broken her silence indirectly following her ex-husband Yuzvendra Chahal's much-talked-about podcast appearance in which he addressed their divorce for the first time. Taking to Instagram, the choreographer and digital creator shared a serene photo dump from her recent Dubai trip. In a moment of unfiltered candour that lit up the internet, fiery politician Mahua Moitra momentarily set aside her parliamentary swordplay to reveal a softer, fangirl side — her unabashed admiration for actor Pankaj Tripathi. Shruti Haasan is all set to make her mark in Coolie, the much-anticipated action thriller headlined by superstar Rajinikanth and helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. While the film promises high-octane drama and a powerhouse ensemble, Shruti recently opened up about her role in the film and what it was like sharing the screen with some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. As India secured the victory, Bollywood celebs also took to their social media to celebrate the win. From Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, to Suniel Shetty, who watched the match at the stadium, many shared sweet messages online. Hrithik Roshan is among the biggest superstars in Bollywood. He has cemented his position with powerful performances in films like Koi Mil Gaya, Jodhaa Akbar, Guzaarish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Agneepath and Super 30, to name a few.
