'I am home': Minnie Dlamini returns to Durban to host afternoon radio slot
Minnie Dlamini has announced her return to Durban and revealed that she will be joining Gagasi FM. Image: Instagram 'My heart lies eGagasini.' These heartfelt words from Minnie Dlamini mark her return to her hometown of Durban. The well-known radio DJ is embarking on an exciting new chapter in her career, having officially joined the popular Durban radio station, Gagasi FM. 'Durban, I'm home for a brand new chapter 🚀,' she expressed. Dlamini, who rose to fame as a presenter, is now the co-host of the weekday drive show, The Gagasi Fastlane, which airs from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays. She made her debut on the station on Tuesday, teaming up with the beloved duo Sphectacula and DJ Naves, affectionately referred to as "The Kings of the Weekend". In a video shared on Instagram, Dlamini announced her homecoming, featuring moments with her son at the beach, enjoying the waves and glimpses of her home. 'Some places never stop calling you back. Where the waves hold your memories and the wind whispers what's next … my heart lies at eGagasini, and that's where I return. Durban, I am home for a brand-new chapter,' she said in the video. Although Dlamini has made a name for herself in Johannesburg, often dubbed the "city of lights", she was born and raised in Durban. Her return to the station follows the departure of Thandi 'Zisto' Mhlongo, who co-hosted The Gagasi Fastlane with Sphe and Naves, before resigning in March after seven years to join East Coast Radio. Dlamini is no stranger to making headlines, having recently been involved in a public dispute with controversial podcaster Macgyver 'MacG' Mukwevho. During an episode of his popular YouTube show, 'Podcast and Chill', Mukwevho made derogatory remarks about Dlamini's breakup with plastic surgeon Dr Brian Monaisa. He questioned her ability to maintain a relationship and made crude comments regarding her hygiene. Video Player is loading. An apology was later issued to her by the attorney of 'Podcast and Chill', but the damage had already been done. Taking the opportunity to address the public discourse surrounding her name, Dlamini expressed her intent to pursue legal action against Mukwevho. She shared her disbelief and pain at how her name, body and dignity had been dragged through the mud due to the vile and humiliating comments made by him.

Nine-year-old Proteas fanatic Daniel Winks was beside himself with excitement as he waited to get Temba Bavuma's signature at OR Tambo airport. Can you blame him? Daniel, however, has been passionately following South African cricket for as long as he could hold a ball. The youngster is a batting all-rounder with best bowling figures of 3/1 off three overs, and his high score is 74 off 44 balls in an U11 game. Daniel plays U9 for Wanderers and the Graham MacMillan High Performance Academy and occasionally for the U9 and U11 South African Cricket Academy sides. Meanwhile, check out the video below where Daniel sends the ball over the ropes for a maximum to bring up his half century. May as well do it in style, right? Tyler Perry calls sexual assault allegations against him a ‘scam'
Actor Derek Dixon filed a lawsuit against Perry, claiming that he made advances on him in 2020. Speaking through his attorney, actor Tyler Perry has described accusations of sexual assault against him by an actor on one of his shows as a 'scam'. 'This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,' said Perry's lawyer, Matthew Boyd. ALSO READ: Selbeyonce bids farewell to Ukhozi FM after 13 years Lawsuit against Tyler Perry In the lawsuit papers, actor Derek Dixon says he first met Perry in 2019 at an event where the latter picked him out of the crowd and asked for Dixon's number. Soon after, Dixon landed a role on Perry's TV show, Ruthless. Dixon filed a lawsuit against Perry, claiming that Perry made advances on him in 2020 after the Madea actor had invited Dixon to his home. The lawsuit alleges that Perry got into bed with him after Dixon had too much to drink. Dixon claims Perry touched his thighs, and although he rejected the advances that night, Dixon claims Perry remained interested in him. Soon after, Dixon landed a bigger role in Perry's political drama series The Oval, featuring in all six seasons of the series. Dixon's lawsuit includes alleged texts between the two where Perry flirts with the actor. Dixon seemingly rebuffs Perry without trying to offend him out of fear of losing his job. However, Dixon eventually complained about the alleged misconduct; however, the 'defendants did not make any investigation into the complaint and did not take any steps to prevent further harassment from occurring.' He then quit The Oval, claiming that the decision to leave the long-running show cost him $400 000 (more than R7 million) in lost wages. But Perry's lawyer said, 'Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.' Dixon is suing for a total of $260 million in damages, as well as legal expenses.
