At ₹ 2.08 lakh (ex-showroom), the Royal Enfield Scram 440 is the most affordable scrambler bike in India. It gets powered by an upgraded 443 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox. With this, the bike makes 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Scram 440's larger displacement and an added sixth gear makes for improved highway performance.
Built around a split cradle frame, the motorcycle is equipped with 41 mm telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by single discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS that is switchable at the rear. The Scram 440 rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. While the base model gets wire-spoked wheels with tube-type tyres, the range-topping Force variant gets tubeless tyres on alloys.
3 Honda CB350RS:
The Honda CB350RS is the sportier and scrambler-styled version of the H'ness CB350. Priced from ₹ 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the motorcycle is powered by a 348.36 cc air-cooled engine that gets mated to a 5-speed gearbox. With this, it makes 20.7 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 30 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. This powerplant was updated in 2025 for OBD-2B compliance.
The CB350RS is built around a double cradle frame with telescopic forks at the front and dual-shocks at the rear. It wears a 19-17-inch alloy wheel combo wrapped in tubeless tyres. The braking performance comes from 310 mm front and 240 mm rear discs. The motorcycle is equipped with an LED headlamp, an analogue-digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS as standard.
4 Triumph Scrambler 400 XC:
The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC was recently launched in India and it comes with several upgrades over the Scrambler 400 X. Priced at ₹ 2.94 lakh (ex-showroom), it is positioned as the top-spec variant from the Scrambler lineup. It is powered by the 400 cc TR series engine, a liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. With this, the motorcycle makes 39 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
Triumph built the Scrambler 400 XC around the same chassis as the 400 X, but with revised hardware that is more off-road-centric. It wears a 19-17 inch combo of tubeless cross-spoke wheels apart from the new body-coloured front beak and visor. The bike further features an aluminium sumpguard, lower engine bars, and tank pads as standard. The suspension setup comprises 43 mm USD front forks and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear, and the bike wears a 320 mm disc front and a 230 mm rear disc setup with switchable dual-channel ABS.
On the feature front, the 400 XC gets full LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster, switchable traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, and more.
5 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401:
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is a no-frills scrambler bike based on the KTM 390 Duke and it tops this list at ₹ 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets driven by a 398.63 cc engine that can make 46 bhp and 9,600 rpm and 39 Nm of max torque at 7,000 rpm. There is a six-speed gearbox on duty, and the motorcycle features a bi-directional quickshifter.
The Svartpilen is built around a steel trellis frame that gets suspended by WP Apex 43 mm USD forks in the front and a WP Apex rear monoshock, both adjustable. Braking duties are taken over by a 320 mm disc in the front and a 240 mm rear disc with dual channel ABS and ByBre calipers, and these are fitted onto 17-inch spoke wheels in Pirelli tyres. Features include ride-by-wire technology, Cornering ABS, Supermoto ABS, and five-inch TFT cluster with two ride modes.

Honda Cars India has introduced a new "Elite Pack" for the Elevate SUV and the Amaze sedan sold in the Indian market. With this pack, both vehicles' additional features over the standard model on sale. Specifically, it adds a 360-degree camera and seven colour ambient lighting without any additional cost. The brand has brought this offer as part of the 'The Great Honda Fest' campaign. The Japanese manufacturer is also offering a 360-degree camera on certain variants of the Amaze and the Elevate as an accessory. This feature will be available for an extra cost and will be retrofitted at the dealerships. The third-party equipment will come with a two-year warranty from the supplier, from the date of purchase. Auto Driver Drops Woman Passenger Midway, Questions Her Life Choices: 'Why'd You Take The Job...'
Auto rickshaws are ubiquitous in Indian cities and quite popular for cheap short-distance travel. Despite their utility, the autorickshaw rides often become a source of hassle for the customers as the drivers tend to have their share of tantrums. Recently, a woman travelling to work claimed that the autorickshaw driver not only abruptly ended the trip midway but also schooled her about the choices she had made in her life. "Yesterday, my auto driver dropped me off 1 km before my office. Mid-ride. Because madam, itna dur nahi jaa sakta (I cannot go that far)" wrote Aditi Ganvir in a LinkedIn post. She further claimed that the driver questioned her choice of workplace, allegedly asking, "Itni door kyun job liya?" (Why did you take a job so far away?) The driver even started calculating her salary and ranted about how he should have never accepted the ride. "Sometimes, your journey will be inconvenient for others and they will leave you in between. That's okay. Just rate them 1 star and move on." See the viral post here: 'Wonder if it was his own...' As the post went viral, social media users were left amused by the interaction and sided with Ms Ganvir. "When podcasters turn cab drivers," said one user, while another added: "Everybody is extremely clever in calculating the salary of others." A fourth said: "While they are ready to do this to a customer. Wonder if it was his own daughter/wife/sister. Would he have dropped her 1km before their destination." Last month, a Bengaluru resident claimed that during a routine commute, the autorickshaw driver started scrolling Instagram -- even slowing the vehicle to stalk an actress' profile. Taking to Reddit, the user wrote: "What made it worse was that he came across a post by Sreeleela(Actor), and instead of just moving on, he actually slowed down the auto right in the middle of the main road to open her profile and scroll through her feed." The man who was in a hurry to reach the office said he was furious but "felt completely helpless" at the situation.
