Malton rescue as two hurt when tree falls on car in Storm Floris
Two people have been seriously injured after a large tree branch fell on their car during Storm pair, who are both in their 80s, were trapped in their vehicle during the accident on Greets House Road, near Malton in North Yorkshire.A local business owner used a telehandler to lift the debris from the Volvo XC40, allowing fire crews to rescue the driver and passenger after the incident at 16:50 BST on man and woman were airlifted to hospital for treatment and the road was closed until 23:45 BST while investigations were carried out, North Yorkshire Police said. Storm Floris brought winds of up to 80mph to parts of the UK.
