A man has shared his thoughts after buying a bottle of water and some ice from Erewhon, one of the world's most expensive supermarkets, and people cannot believe the price
Who would fork out a hefty sum for the crème de la crème of crystal-clear iced water? A food critic dared to splash £60 at one of the globe's priciest supermarkets to give us the lowdown. We all fancy a little indulgence every once in a while - whether it's a pampering spa day, a night out or finally purchasing that long-coveted item. For many, shelling out on top-notch food supplies is the ultimate luxury. For us Brits, Marks and Spencer or Waitrose are the go-to choices for high-end groceries, but stateside, Erewhon Market is where the posh nosh is at. With its branches scattered across California, it's also a prime celebrity spot.
Carmie Sellitto, famed for his eccentric food reviews, decided to put the bottled water and circle ice cubes offered at this lavish grocer to the test, documenting his findings on TikTok to an audience of nearly a million followers.
Carmie declared: "Trying the £60 water from Erewhon. Believe it or not they're selling ice for £35 and water for £25." Flashing the gigantic ice blocks – big as a baseball – Carmie queried: "Like, what is this?"
After plopping one ice block into an Erewhon emblazoned mug with some Ophora water, he took a gulp. Wrapping up his take on it, Carmie remarked: "You know what, it just tastes expensive, it really does."
One of his mates gave it a go as well, remarking: "That was nice mate." The review sparked a flurry of comments.
One user quipped: "I'm convinced Erewhon is a social experiment,".
Another chimed in with: "Erwon is a lovely shopping experience. Buy what you can afford. It's a nice atmosphere there."
A shocked commenter exclaimed: "60 pounds for water and ice? That's 81 dollars American! That is such a waste of money."
Another added: "This is going way too far now. Someone else questioned: "How can they sell water at this price?"
"Even if I was a billionaire, I wouldn't fall for this scam," one person insisted.
Another lamented: "This one makes me sad. It's just wrong on every level."
However, one defender of the pricey beverage said: "It's really good, so much better than normal water, a lot of people commenting haven't actually tried it. I think it's 100% worth it, if anything it's under priced."
Some pointed out that the presentation was lacking. "You ruined it in the plastic cup," one person noted.
Another commented: "£60 and they give you a plastic cup. "Needs a crystal glass," one other insisted.

Instead, holidaymakers are advised to stow these larger umbrellas in their checked luggage, freeing up more space for other items in their carry-on bag. In addition, Fulton Umbrellas has issued a warning to those fitness enthusiasts who plan to maintain their regimen while on holiday, advising them to reconsider packing protein powders in their bags. Although not explicitly prohibited by airlines, these powders can obscure the view on X-ray machines, hiding items that are placed behind them. Consequently, travellers who opt to pack protein powders in their hand luggage may find themselves spending extra time at security, as staff will likely need to manually inspect the case.

Fred Olsen cruise line has launched a huge summer sale and Brits can currently get free drinks packages on a host of sailings in 2025 including Northern Lights cruises Brits planning cruise holidays this year may want to check out Fred. Olsen's latest summer sale, as the cruise line is currently offering a tempting deal with drinks. Cruises already include plenty such as your food, accommodation and travel, but if you want drinks, these usually come at an extra cost on the majority of cruise lines. A drinks package can be a great way of being able to indulge in a tipple or two without having to worry about the size of your bill at the end of the holiday, but these also come at an extra cost. However, Fred. Olsen is currently offering free drinks packages on over 40 sailings in 2025. That will include a range of house beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks too. Holidaymakers who book by June 25, 2025, will be able to enjoy the free drinks, worth £24.99 per person per night (or if you're booking five-night cruises, worth £35.99 per person, per night). You can already book on the Fred Olsen website, and there's an impressive array of itineraries included whether you're hoping to make the most of the summer sun on a sailing to Spain, or have a bucket-list-worthy winter and go in search of the Northern Lights. There's more good news as the sailings are across all three of its ships - Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - with a range of UK departure ports including Southampton, Dover, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Newcastle and Rosyth (Edinburgh). Whatever cruise itinerary you're eyeing up, according to one cruise insider there are six items you should always pack before heading to the ship. One top tip? Packing both a backpack for your onshore excursions, but also a smaller evening bag for around the ship so you can carry a few essentials whether heading to dinner, a show or even just enjoying a trip to the bar. Krispy Kreme to give away free glazed doughnuts on June 6
The company wants to reclaim their title "as the OG of the glazed doughnut". Therefore, they are encouraging customers to bring 'Faux-G doughnuts' into a Krispy Kreme store, which they can "upgrade" to an original glazed doughnut for free. A "Faux-G doughnut" is defined as being a glazed doughnut from another shop that could be seen as an "inferior imitation". A post shared by Krispy Kreme UK (@krispykremeuk) Customers will need to bring their "Faux-G doughnut" into a Krispy Kreme store or show proof of purchase (such as with a receipt) to claim their free original glazed doughnut on Friday, June 6. The offer will only be available for one day, with it being limited to one redemption per person. Guy Meakin, Krispy Kreme UK President, said: "They say imitation is the ultimate form of flattery, and we have seen many copies of our iconic doughnuts over the years. It started in North Carolina, seeing steady growth over the decades, with it opening its first store in the UK in October 2003. This original store was situated in the Harrods department store in London before it shut in 2011, with there now being 120 locations in the UK. As part of an April Fool's Day campaign back in 2017, Krispy Kreme claimed they were going to change their name to 'Krispy Cream'. As reported by The Mirror, this was to avoid the issue of Brits not knowing whether to pronounce 'Kreme' as 'cream' or the more French-sounding 'crème'.
