Fantasy Football: 'Absolutely disgusting' — Could Ashton Jeanty end up as the next Trent Richardson?
The Las Vegas Raiders used the 6th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to select Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, who was by far the top back coming out of college. Jeanty, who stands 5-foot-8 and 211 pounds, is coming off one of the best seasons by a RB in college football history. He finished with 2,601 rushing yards, 27 shy of the record set by Barry Sanders back in 1988 at Oklahoma State.

Jeanty also averaged 7.0 yards per carry and had 30 total TDs (29 rushing and one receiving) over 14 games. He rushed for 209 yards and a score in the Mountain West Championship to help the Broncos defeat UNLV and advance to the College Football Playoff. Jeanty would rush for 104 yards on 30 carries in a loss to Penn State in the CFP.
Now in the NFL, Jeanty lands in what appears to be a good situation for fantasy football in Las Vegas, where he'll be the lead back with little competition. But despite all that, Yahoo fantasy football analysts Matt Harmon and Justin Boone aren't convinced Jeanty will be a sure-thing. Boone points out it may take a bit for the Raiders to mesh as a team under new head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, as well as new QB Geno Smith.
Harmon had to stop himself before making a "absolutely disgusting comparison" between Jeanty and former Cleveland Browns 3rd overall pick RB Trent Richardson back in 2012. Boone echoes that "volume is king" and he believes Jeanty will be OK at the end of the day. Even Richardson as a rookie finished as the RB8 that season after going for 1,317 yards from scrimmage with 51 catches and 12 total TDs.

So as a first-round pick in 2025, Jeanty should be alright given the type of volume we can expect. But if you have Jeanty in dynasty or keeper formats, you may have to keep a close eye on him during the season and evaluate him for the future.

Pete Alonso hits 3-run homer to power Mets to sweep of Angels
NEW YORK (AP) — Pete Alonso hit a three-run homer to power the New York Mets to a 6-3 win and series sweep of the Los Angeles Angeles on Wednesday. Alonso, mired in a 2-for-34 slump dating back to July 10, homered two batters after Francisco Lindor broke a career-long 0-for-31 drought with an RBI single. Brandon Nimmo hit his 14th career leadoff homer and Lindor added another RBI single in the fourth for the Mets, who swept a series for the fifth time this season. Sean Manaea (1-1), making his third appearance and second start after battling oblique and elbow injuries, allowed one run and struck out five over five innings. Edwin Díaz got the final four outs for his 21st save. Mike Trout homered in the third — the 396th home run and 999th RBI of his career — for the Angels, who were swept for the seventh time. Luis Rengifo (forceout) and Chris Taylor (double) collected RBIs in the seventh. Left-hander Jake Eder (0-1), the last of three Angels pitchers on a bullpen day, gave up five runs in a career-high six innings. Key moment Alonso's first homer since July 8 was the 248th of his career, pulling him within four of Darryl Strawberry for the all-time franchise lead. Key stat Trout is aiming to become the second active player with 400 homers and the ninth with 1,000 RBIs. Up next The Mets travel west for a six-game road trip starting Friday, when RHP Clay Holmes (8-5, 3.48 ERA) opens a three-game series against RHP Logan Webb (9-7, 3.08 ERA) and the San Francisco Giants. Angels LHP Yusei Kikuchi (4-6, 3.13 ERA) starts Thursday, when the Angels return home for a four-game series against the Seattle Mariners and RHP Logan Evans (3-3, 3.81 ERA). ___ AP MLB:

WATCH: Browns' 'Alpha Dawg' helmet reveal on Lake Erie waterfront was a disaster
The Cleveland Browns revealed their new look on Wednesday, just in time for the start of training camp. The Ravens AFC North rivals unveiled a new "Alpha Dawg" look featuring the all-brown helmet to pair with an all-brown jersey combination during the 2025 season. The "Alpha Dawg" look will be worn during three home games this season: Sept. 21 versus the Green Bay Packers, Oct. 19 versus the Miami Dolphins and Dec. 7 versus the Tennessee Titans. "'Alpha Dawg' embodies what we set out to be as the Cleveland Browns, the leaders of the pack. We're excited about this new alternate helmet and the ode it pays to the rich history of the color brown as part of our organization, switching it up from our iconic orange helmets," said JW Johnson, Cleveland Browns Executive Vice President and Partner. "We look forward to the team wearing the all-brown helmet and uniform combination for the first time on September 21 at Huntington Bank Field and leaning into the 'Alpha Dawg' mentality throughout the 2025 season." Prior to the reveal, the Browns had a floatng object that was covered just sitting at Lake Erie near downtown Cleveland. During the reveal, some poor guy took a fall into the Lake, but continued filming. The Brown helmet sat on a 20-foot barge with a large, circular object being covered by a Cleveland Browns tarp. And it helped tease the "Alpha Dawg" reveal. News3 in Cleveland capture the replica "Alpha Dawg" helmet on the barge.
