Filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran has officially confirmed that he will be reuniting with Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar for their next project, tentatively titled AK64.
Ajith Kumar and his wife Shalini have always been admired for their bond, and a recent video of the couple has left fans gushing. The clip, which has now gone viral on social media, captures a sweet and traditional moment between the two during a festive occasion.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Ajith Kumar's wife shared the video in which he is seen putting tilak on her forehead while she touches his feet. The video is winning hearts on social media. Now, his wife Shalini Ajith celebrated the milestone and praised him for how far he has come in his career, noting that he has changed people's lives while doing so.
Shalini took to her Instagram account to share a picture with Ajith Kumar. The couple is all smiles in the beautiful selfie. In her caption, she celebrated his 33-year journey in cinema and wrote, 'You haven't just built a career ..you' ve carried people, changed lives, and done it all with grace. I'm so proud of you.!! Happy 33 years !!"
Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar shared a statement that read, 'As I complete 33 years in this extraordinary journey called cinema, I do not pen this to celebrate. I don't wait for landmark numbers as I believe that each passing year is a landmark year. I thank you all with a full heart and folded hands. This journey was never easy. I did not come from legacy or influence. I started from the outside, with nothing more than a will to try. Life, in its own way, tested me over and over through injuries, setbacks, failures, and silence. But I never stopped. I endured. I got back up."
He expressed his gratitude to the directors, producers, writer and actors he worked with, in his 33-year acting journey. Moreover, Ajith Kumar also addressed his critics, and wrote that their harshest words have only sharpened him. The actor, who had a small role in the 1990 Tamil film En Veedu En Kanavar, debuted as a lead actor in the 1993 film Amaravathi.

The announcement comes on the heels of Ravichandran's recent success with the high-budget action-comedy Good Bad Ugly, which performed strongly at the box office earlier this year.
While speaking to the media during a recent interaction, Adhik confirmed the much-anticipated collaboration. 'Yes, I'm doing the next film with Ajith Kumar sir. I'm very happy that I got an opportunity for AK64. It will be a different kind of film from Good Bad Ugly & will be a treat for fans," he shared.
Ajith had earlier confirmed that he will kick off shooting in November 2025, aiming for a release around April or May 2026. In a chat with Indian Express, Ajith revealed how he's juggling his two big passions, acting and racing. He explained, 'Our racing season in Europe starts in March and ends in October, but for that one-off race that happens in Dubai in January. If I can squeeze in a film between the November to February period, I will then have a film release every year, and I can also focus on my racing program. I will be starting to film a new project in November this year, which will hopefully be released sometime around April or May 2026."
