Two motorcyclists killed in collision with car
SEREMBAN: Two men were killed after the motorcycles they were riding collided with a car at Km17 of Jalan Kuala Pilah–Simpang Pertang near here last night.
Jempol police chief Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar said the 8.58pm incident claimed the lives of a 26-year-old local security guard and a 44-year-old Pakistani bread seller.
Both died at the scene from severe injuries.
"The crash occurred when a car driven by a 46-year-old man travelling from Simpang Pertang towards Bahau is believed to have rear-ended a Honda C100B motorcycle ridden by the Pakistani victim.
"The impact caused the motorcycle to veer out of control and into the opposite lane, where it collided with another Honda C100B ridden by the second victim," he said in a statement today.
The car driver was uninjured. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act.
Norhisham urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Inspector Yasmin Beevee Mohamed Ali at 012-9434222 to assist with the investigation.

'Between May and August, the campaign is scheduled to be held in 344 schools nationwide, including 64 in Sabah. 'The response has been encouraging, and we aim to deliver the programme using interactive approaches,' Teo told reporters after attending the campaign at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan (SRK) Sung Siew today, where 120 Year Four to Year Six pupils took part in the session. Teo said strong collaboration with the Ministry of Education has been instrumental in ensuring the success of the Safe Internet Campaign, particularly in helping students better understand the importance of cybersecurity. She also called on all stakeholders to work together in fostering a safe, healthy and positive digital environment by actively participating in awareness modules, talks and campaign activities to empower communities against cyber threats. 'We cannot deny that children today have (easy) access to gadgets and the internet. It is therefore essential, especially for parents, to take an active role in monitoring their children's online activities. 'We must raise awareness and educate the public, especially children, on digital literacy so they understand the importance of not sharing photos or personal data online. Teen Sentenced To Six Years At Henry Gurney School Over Fatal Crash That Killed Five
KUCHING, June 17 (Bernama) -- A 15-year-old boy was ordered to undergo six years of rehabilitation at the Henry Gurney School for causing the deaths of five individuals in a road crash earlier this year. Magistrate Ling Hui Chuan imposed the order until the teen reaches the age of 21, and further fined him RM1,500 or two months imprisonment in default, for driving underage. The sentence was handed down after the Magistrate's Court received a report from the Social Welfare Department and submissions from deputy public prosecutor Mohd Fillanny Siji. The teenager, who was unrepresented, pleaded guilty on May 14 to two charges under Sections 41(1) and 39(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, and for driving while under the age of 16. Speaking to reporters, Mohd Fillanny said the prosecution had sought a custodial sentence in light of the loss of five lives, adding that such cases should serve as a deterrent amid the rising number of road accidents in Kuching. On May 14, the teen's 35-year-old father also pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 33(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for permitting his son to drive without proper supervision. He was fined RM15,000, in default 12 months imprisonment and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service within six months. On Jan 14, the teenager lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into two cars and two motorcycles along Jalan Stutong Baru. Four victims died at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital.

Meor Azizi Zolkfle, 33, made the plea when the charges were read out before Judge Hayda Farizal Abu Hasan. The accused, as a person in a position of trust, namely, a coach to a 13-year-and-five-month-old trainee, was charged with two counts of committing physical sexual assault on the teenager. The offences were allegedly committed at the Bandar Penawar Stadium at 9.20 pm on May 2. In a separate charge, the accused was alleged to have committed physical sexual assault on another trainee, aged 13 years and seven months, at a sports centre shop in Felda Sening at 8 pm on Nov 14. He also faces a charge of committing the same offence against the same victim at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Adela field here at 7.50 pm on May 2. The charges were framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, read together with Section 16(1) of the same Act. Section 14(a) carries a maximum sentence of 20 years' imprisonment and whipping, while Section 16(1) provides for an additional jail term of up to five years and not less than two strokes of the cane.
