Julian McMahon's Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano pleads with fans of hit TV series to stop using AI to pay tribute to the late actor
Alyssa Milano, 52, took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to call for an end to the fabricated content of McMahon, which quickly circulated online after his death at the age of 56 last Thursday following a cancer battle.
"Charmed fans/accounts! I love and appreciate you so much, but please stop using AI to fabricate emotion from Julian McMahon's death," the actress wrote.
"It is totally unnecessary when there are real moments you can use from his nearly 35 years in the public eye.
"And please be considerate to Julian's grieving family and friends during this difficult time."
It's understood that fans of Charmed, in which McMahon kick-started his career starring as Cole Turner from 2000 to 2003, mostly created and shared unwelcome AI-generated videos of the Australian-American star.
Alyssa paid an emotional tribute to her co-star on Sunday through a lengthy Instagram caption accompanied by photos of their time on set.
"We spent years together on Charmed—years of scenes, stories, and so many in-between moments," she wrote.
"He made me feel safe as an actor. Seen as a woman.
"He challenged me, teased me, supported me. We were so different, and yet somehow we always understood each other."
The only son of the former Prime Minister Sir William McMahon, Julian is survived by his wife of 11 years, author and meditation teacher Kelly McMahon (née Paniagua), and his 25-year-old daughter Madison (McMahon, whom he shared with ex-wife, actress Brooke Burns.
Kelly was the first to confirm her husband died in Clearwater, Florida, through a statement to Deadline.
'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,' she said last Friday.
'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible."
After Charmed, McMahon gained wider recognition from 2003 to 2010 as plastic surgeon Dr Christian Troy in the medical drama Nip/Tuck.
On the big screen, McMahon is best known for playing Marvel villain Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four (2005) and its 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer.
His other film credits include Premonition, RED, Paranoia, You're Not You, Swinging Safari, and, most recently, Australian film The Surfer opposite Nicolas Cage.
Over three decades as a leading man and through his investments in real estate, the US-based star accumulated a net worth of $16 million USD ($24 million AUD) at the time of his death, according to reports.

Transvision Vamp book first Australian tour in 27 years
Don't miss out on the headlines from Music Tours. Followed categories will be added to My News. Transvision Vamp frontwoman Wendy James vividly recalls the hysteria generated by the band's popularity in the late 80s. As hit singles Baby I Don't Care and I Want Your Love set up camp on the Australian charts, the band were greeted by thousands of fans and a big police presence outside the venues they were booked to play and appearances on Countdown and Hey Hey It's Saturday on their first tour in 1989. Those memories came flooding back when she found old Super 8 footage of those days last year. 'I found a lot of Australian footage, especially film we captured in Melbourne, and I remember there were riot police on horses and people in the street and this one girl who screams they're bigger than the Beatles,' James said, laughing. Transvision Vamp singer Wendy James is bringing the band back to Australia. Picture: David Leigh Dodd / Supplied. James was made for the 80s. The outspoken young star declared Transvision Vamp would be bigger than Madonna and was a vocal critic of the emerging Stock Aitken Waterman pop factory which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan. But after a heady three years touring the world, the band broke up after falling out with their record label. James embarked on a sporadic solo career, moving to New York in 2002 and when she released her latest solo record The Shape of History to critical acclaim last year, she decided it was time to get back on the road. James and her bandmates in the late 80s. Picture: Supplied. The self-managed singer emailed a couple of Australian promoters to gauge if there was interest in her returning to the country for her first tour in 27 years. 'I knew when I made this 10th album I wanted to not just do the UK again but go back to Australia where the whole thing started. I know we broke out of the UK, but really the rapturous, the enormousness broke out from Australia,' she said. 'I wrote a couple of emails to Australian promoters who received me very warmly.' James released a new solo record last year. Picture: David Leigh Dodd / Supplied. A woman fronting a punk pop band in the 80s was a rarity. With her baby-doll dresses and bright pink lipstick, James was a unique pop star paying homage to the influence of Blondie's Debbie Harry. The short-lived band also exerted its own influence on other artists from Nirvana's Kurt Cobain to young female pop stars who have probably had her picture on their vision boards such as Sabrina Carpenter. Cobain famously wore a Transvision Vamp T-shirt during Nirvana's 1991 tour of the US and a live performance on MTV. 'That T-shirt is just known now as the Kurt shirt,' James said. 'He came to quite a few of those shows we did in America in 1991 and he purchased his tour T-shirt and wore it for quite a few of his performances, including the MTV one. 'There's really funny footage of him telling Courtney (Love) about her hair cut and he's wearing my T-shirt. So yeah, it's a great thrill.' The Transvision Vamp tour opens at The Triffid in Brisbane on February 12 and heads to The Station, Sunshine Coast on February 14, King Street Bandroom, Newcastle, on February 15, Metro Theatre, Sydney on February 17, Northcote Theatre, Melbourne on February 18, The Gov, Adelaide on February 19 and Magnet House, Perth on February 21. The tour early bird presale opens on July 11 from 9am and general tickets are live from July 15 at 9am with all details via Originally published as Punk pop star Wendy James brings Transvision Vamp back to Australia where it all began

Tennis world loses its mind as Jelena Dokic hard launches new boyfriend Yane Veselinov
The tennis world has been quick to congratulate Aussie tennis icon Jelena Dokic as she finally went public with her new relationship. The much-loved commentator hard-launched her latest beau, Yane Veselinov, on Instagram on Monday afternoon. Posting a picture of her and Vaselinov, the 42-year-old wrote: 'You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.' The post was inundated with messages of support, as fans went wild. 'COULDN'T LOVE THIS MORE,' one fan wrote. 'Oh YAYYYYYY!!!! So happy for you xxxx you deserve all the joy and happiness life has to offer,' another commented. 'This makes me so happy! You deserve all the happiness in the world Jelena!' a third wrote. While others commented 'best news ever', 'so happy for you' and 'so happy for your happiness – you deserve this love'. The tennis star turned commentator previously dated Tin Bikic for 19 years before the relationship ended in 2022. Since their split, Dokic has rebuilt her life and career and has also opened up in depth about the torment she endured at the hands of her late father, Damir. The former world No. 4 tennis player survived physical and emotional abuse from her father along with cowardly online trolling over her appearance, to forge a successful career as a commentator and author. And her news of her relationship comes just weeks after she appeared on the Mental As Anyone podcast, the beloved tennis champion spoke about her love of children and the possibility of exploring adoption. 'I was in a relationship for almost 19 years from the age of 20 and right when we split up, we were about to start trying for a family. 'Maybe one day. One day will I adopt? Possibly. It's something I would love to do because I love kids.' Dokic broke onto the tennis scene at just 16 years of age back in 1999 as a little-known qualifier at Wimbledon, where she upset world No. 1 Martina Hingis before reaching the quarter-finals. The following year, she reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon – her best Grand Slam result – but hidden behind the scenes was a dark story that would eventually derail her career. At the height of Dokic's tennis career, Damir made her turn her back on Australia and switch allegiances to Yugoslavia, which saw her booed at the Australian Open by Aussie fans. Her promising career deteriorated, with her father largely to blame, and it was only in recent years that Dokic was able to reveal the true depths of her abuse. Discussing the prospect of motherhood, Dokic spoke bravely about concerns she could replicate some of her upbringing with a child of her own. But the six-time WTA tournament winner had an emphatic response to that possibility. 'Did I at one stage maybe think, I didn't have the best experience, and I know a lot of people with parents and having that childhood and what would that mean for me?' she said. 'Because I know a lot of people who have been through family violence or abuse, domestic violence, however you want to frame it, they are worried about that, whether they would be the same. 'But for me, 100 per cent certainty, I can say 100 per cent, I know I wouldn't be (like my father). 'I love kids and I know even if I were a single mum, to be honest, and I adopted one day, it would have all the love in the world. 'I would love to have a father as well, but I know I can give it absolutely everything and (it) would have all the love and support and I would be completely different. 'That would never, I could never, I could never be (like) that, ever. 'I always said I wanted to have kids, but I want to adopt. So that's a big wish of mine and passion and I hope to do it one day.'

NYC-based Aussie influencer reveals traumatic past with dad
Former Bachelor star and Perth resident Snezana Wood's eldest daughter, Eve, has exposed her biological father after he told her she didn't deserve the life she has. The 19-year-old influencer recently moved from her family home in Melbourne to the hustle and bustle of New York and was interviewed by Dose of Society on TikTok, an account sharing real stories from strangers. When asked what the most painful comment she has ever received was, Eve revealed that her biological dad once said that 'I don't deserve the life I'm living.' She said she believed her dad, who she hasn't seen in eight years, wanted to see her mum suffer out of jealousy. 'I grew up with just my mum, single mum, and she raised me to (be) the woman I am today. He wanted to see my mum suffer and I think when he saw that my mum's built a life for both of us, I think it was just more of a reaction,' she said. Throughout the video, Eve can be seeing getting emotional as she opens up about her traumatic past. In the comments section of the video, Eve said she learnt to protect her public image by never taking herself seriously and laughing things off rather than addressing them. 'The question really caught me off guard. It had been such a long time since l'd been that honest with myself, and I didn't expect to get that emotional,' she said. 'I was nervous about how this would be received especially being vulnerable on social media, knowing how harsh it can be. 'But the kindness and messages l've received have meant more than I can explain.' Evie also said her real dad was never around when she was younger and he 'did some things a while back that ended with him in places he shouldn't have been in'. 'He just got involved with the wrong people,' she said. Sam Wood on his birthday with his wife Snezana Wood and daughters. Credit: @samjameswood / Instagram Eve continued by saying how proud she was of her mum who was working a 9-5 job as well as tackling a university degree in molecular genetics and biochemistry. 'She's done a lot, she sacrificed a how strong and how much strength she's got to keep on going through all this, it makes me proud to be a mother's daughter,' she said. Snezana became well-known in 2015 after she met Sam Wood on the third season of The Bachelor Australia. She stole Sam's heart and Snezana and Eve moved to Melbourne to start a family together. The couple share three girls — Charlie, Willow and Harper — after getting married in 2018.
