Why Red Bull's upgrades are crucial for Max Verstappen at Belgian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen is currently standing on the boundary line of the Formula 1 Championship with only two wins in 12 races this season. He is currently in the number 3 spot in the Formula 1 Driver Standings, but if he slips out of the top three, he could activate the release clause in his contract with Red Bull.
Now, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has said the updates that will be introduced at Red Bull at the Belgian Grand Prix have little ground to fall into place, and if they don't work out as expected, Verstappen could lose all his chances of claiming the championship.

Red Bull upgrades
at Belgian Grand Prix
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko looks hopeful about the Red Bull updates to be introduced at the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix and the following Hungarian Grand Prix.
Marko told OE24, 'There are still 332 points up for grabs, which is a decent package. We hope the updates we're bringing to Spa and Budapest will have an impact.'
The Belgian Grand Prix is scheduled from July 25–26. But since there is a Sprint race as well, only one practice session has been included in the schedule. The other two free practice sessions have been omitted to make space for the Sprint qualifying and then the Sprint.

When asked if having an additional Sprint could be beneficial for the team to grab points, Marko said, 'Yes and no. On the one hand, there are more points up for grabs. But on the other hand, two practice sessions are cancelled. We can't afford a disastrous Friday practice and then get the car into the right tyre window. Everything has to be right, right from the start.'
If Red Bull upgrades fail to work at Belgian Grand Prix
Helmut Marko, however, also indicated that if the updates fail to help Verstappen improve his race performance, they may stop thinking about remaining in the championship at all.
Max Verstappen is currently third in the Driver Standings with 165 points. Mercedes driver George Russell is a close fourth with 147 points. If he slips out of the top three, he may be free to leave Red Bull before his contract comes to an end. On the other hand, McLaren's Oscar Piastri is leading with 234 points and has his teammate Lando Norris in a close second with 226 points.

Gautam Gambhir goes against his own theory for Rishabh Pant inside Team India dressing room: 'I hate talking about...'

India head coach Gautam Gambhir went against his own philosophy on Sunday to deliver a stirring dressing room speech, saluting Rishabh Pant's courageous effort. Pant, despite battling injury, played a key role in helping India secure a draw in Manchester. The result not only kept the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series alive but also perfectly set up the decider at The Oval, starting Thursday. Gautam Gambhir's dressing room speech for Rishabh Pant During India's first innings in Manchester, Pant had suffered from a fractured toe while batting after being hit by a yorker from Chris Woakes. He was carted off the ground and taken to the hospital for medical scan, after which he was advised six weeks of rest, thus ruling him out of the series right then. However, on the following morning, less than 24 hours after the injury, Pant hobbled down the Old Trafford stairs and limped his way to the crease to continue his knock. He added 17 more runs to his overnight score of an unbeaten 37 to score a valiant fifty, a knock that laid the foundation for India to pull off a draw in the Test match. In a video shared on the official 'Indian Cricket Team' Instagram page, Gambhir was full of praise for Pant's act, saying he had inspired not just every player in the dressing room but also the next generation of stars. 'The foundation of this Test team will be based on what Rishabh has done for this team. I hate talking about individuals. I have never spoken about individuals in a team sport. You have not only inspired this dressing room, but the next generation. This is what you have done and the legacy you have created for yourself and for everyone in this dressing room. So very well done, and the country will always be proud of you,' Gambhir said. Rishabh Pant sends final rallying cry before Oval finale Pant has been officially ruled out of the final Test match against England as the selectors picked N Jagadeeshan as his replacement, although Dhruv Jurel will likely fill in the spot in the playing XI for the match at The Oval. Ahead of the series decider, Pant sent a message to his teammates. 'The only message I'm going to give my team is, let's win it, guys. Let's do it for the country. Just a gesture from my side. Whatever it takes to make our team win or put the team forward instead of thinking about the personal goal, that was all for me. Definitely, it's been amazing the way they backed me. The team is under pressure. Everything is there, but when the whole country stand behind you for the same cause, that is something. That emotion is difficult to explain, how proud I feel to represent my country,' he said.

Harshika Jain first Indian to sign for Romanian club

Harshika Jain (Image credit: X) At first glance, 22-year-old Harshika Jain's football ing roots don't scream 'history maker'. A girl from a business family in Mumbai's plush Altamount Road, she was just another sports-loving kid who dabbled in everything from basketball to handball to hockey. But by the time she turned 11, football had kicked everything else aside. Two days ago, Harshika became the first Indian footballer to sign with a Romanian firstdivision club, joining Atletic Olimpia Gherla. No Indian has ever featured in Romania's top two leagues before. Moving from India to play professional football at the European stage, Harshika is following in the footsteps of Bala Devi, Manisha Kalyan and Aditi Chauhan. Her signing isn't just about international firsts; it's also one of persistence, late-night training sessions, lockdown drills, and a young girl breaking into all-boys' teams. Harshika's football journey began at school, where she could always be found on the football ground. And she could be spotted quite easily, too, as she would be the only girl training with boys. It was the same in her locality, where she would always have to play with the other boys as no girls joined it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Libas Purple Days Sale Libas Undo The move to Romania came through trial at Olimpia Gherla, where she impressed legendary coach Mirel Albon, the man behind Romania's rise in women's football. After 20 days of trial, the club offered her a contract. 'It feels like family here,' Harshika told TOI. 'And that's important to me. I'm close to my family, and the club environment reflects that. They've welcomed me with open arms.' Despite going global, her dream remains rooted in national colours. 'Wearing India's jersey, that's the dream. Always has been.'
