Tia Mowry found travel healing post-divorce

Perth Now26-06-2025
Tia Mowry found travel helped her to heal after her divorce.
The former Sister, Sister star split from Cory Hardrict - with whom she has Cree, 13, and seven-year-old Cairo - in 2023 after 15 years of marriage and she has urged anyone who finds themselves suddenly single to "dive into doing the work" on themselves and to take time for self-care.
Asked during a fan Q+A on her Instagram Story how to recover from a divorce, she wrote: "I think I'd say: dive into doing the work.
"Really, truly focus on self-care. Focus on what makes you happy and what brings you joy.
"Build a tribe, a community of friends, a support system. Meditate. Try new hobbies. Read books on healing. Spend time with your kids if you have them, or just surround yourself with people who genuinely love and support you.
'Do things that feel fun and fulfilling. Travel, if you can. Traveling really helped me. It's all about creating new experiences. The more experiences you have, the further away you get from that heavy, gut-wrenching feeling of divorce.'
The 46-year-old actress stressed that it is OK to feel emotional but to try not to get "consumed" by sadness.
She added: 'Also, allow yourself to cry. Allow yourself to feel it all. Just don't let it consume you. I hope that helps.'
Cory recently explained he and Tia had managed to avoid a "messy" divorce by putting their children first.
Speaking on 'Sherri', the 45-year-old actor said: "Everything starts and ends with love. We are a family, no matter what people say. I block out the noise. My kids are going to live to see this one day, and I am going to represent for them, always.
"If you really love your children, you won't get involved in the noise or the mess. I make sure that I always think about them first. I put myself last. If you do that, you're going to avoid the mess."
His comments come shortly after Tia revealed that Cory had been her "first everything" and that she had never really known anything than their marriage when it comes to relationships.
Speaking during a confessional segment on her WeTV reality show 'Tia Mowry: My Next Act', she explained: "You know I've never dated. Cory was my first everything.
'I wasn't even allowed to date until I was 18 years old. "I met Cory when I turned 20 and I lost my virginity at 25. There, I said it! And then we got married! Boom!"

Dianna Agron finds it hard to process deaths of tragic Glee co-stars

Dianna Agron still finds it hard to process the losses of Glee co-stars Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera and Mark Salling. The 39-year-old star played Quinn Fabray in the TV series from 2009 until 2015 and revealed how she thinks that her cast mates - who all suffered untimely deaths - continue to "feel so present". Dianna said on the And That's What You REALLY Missed podcast: "It's hard to think of our loved ones from the show not being present with us anymore because they feel so present in my heart, body, mind, soul, all of it. "I think that tenderness I feel and the memories that I have (of) who Cory, Naya and Mark were as people, as cast members, as our friends and family (are) just so vivid." She continued: "That will never dissipate for me, ever. I think there's beauty in that. I could replay memory after memory after memory." Monteith (Finn Hudson) passed away at the age of 31 in 2013 after an accidental overdose, Salling (Noah Puckerman) took his own life aged 35 in 2018 and Rivera (Santana Lopez) drowned in a boating accident in 2020 - and Dianna looks back at their talent and personalities with fondness following their deaths. The Family actress said of Monteith: "He was a teddy bear, and I mean that in a way of kindness and groundedness in himself was so perfect. "He was this tall, big brotherly presence in all of our lives. "(Cory) just felt so safe and equally excited about what he was getting to experience with his character. His character had a leadership position in the show, as well, and there was not an ungenerous bone in his body." Agron explained that Cory's generous spirit extended to when he was away from the cameras. She recalled: "I remember this one time that he was having people swim in his backyard. "My brother had come down and (Cory) said, 'Oh, you're squinting a lot. Do you not have a pair of sunglasses?' He was like, 'Oh, no, I don't', and (Cory) took him into his room. He's like, 'These are all my sunglasses. Just take a pair.' ... That's who he was always. It was so amazing to have."

Man left in critical condition after trying to save Malcolm-Jamal Warner

A man left in critical condition after the drowning of Malcolm-Jamal Warner was trying to save him. The 54-year-old actor died after being swept away by a rip current on a beach in Costa Rica over the weekend and another unnamed man – who was injured in the incident – was actually a Good Samaritan who spotted Warner in difficulty and tried to save him. The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) told PEOPLE in a statement: "The victim appears to have entered the sea and was apparently swept away by a current. The man was rescued by bystanders and taken to shore, where he received treatment from the Costa Rican Red Cross. However, he was declared lifeless at the scene." A spokesperson for the OIJ confirmed to PEOPLE that the second victim "came in [the water] to help Mr. Warner." The spokesperson added that the other person had no personal connection to Warner, but saw him from the beach and tried to help. The Cosby Show actor Warner was on vacation with his wife and daughter at the time of the accident, according to NBC News. The OIJ also confirmed that Warner's autopsy showed he died from accidental asphyxiation by submersion. It added: 'The body will be removed from the Judicial Morgue by a funeral service company hired by Mr. Warner's family.' Meanwhile, tributes to Malcolm poured in from across the showbiz world, with his 9-1-1 co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt stating that the tragedy "hurts my heart". She wrote on social media: "This hurts my heart. A gentleman, an incredible talent and we were so lucky to have him in the 9-1-1 family. Heartbroken and sending love to his family." Comedian Sherri Shepherd described Malcolm as "one of the most-grounded people I've met in our business" after working with him on the TV series Sherri. She said: "As someone who grew up on TV, Malcolm remained one of the most-grounded people I've ever met in our business. To know Malcolm was to know a renaissance man that possessed humour, grace, humility and deep cultural appreciation. He was just a good guy! "His passing is a true loss to the Hollywood community. He was a proud girl dad and loved his daughter so much. To his family, friends and all who loved him - my heart is with you."

Bill Cosby pays tribute to The Cosby Show co-star Malcolm-Jamal Warner after his tragic death

Bill Cosby has paid tribute to his The Cosby Show co-star Malcolm-Jamal Warner. The actor tragically passed away on Sunday (20.07.25) at the age of 54 after drowning while on holiday in Costa Rica and has been remembered by Cosby as a "great studier" after playing his on-screen son Theodore Huxtable in the TV sitcom that aired from 1984 until 1992. The 88-year-old star told ABC News: "He was always a great studier, and I enjoyed working with him very much. "He was very professional. He always knew his part... He always knew his lines, and he always knew where to go." Cosby - who has faced sexual misconduct allegations from a number of women in recent years and had a sexual assault conviction quashed in 2021 - explained that he and Malcolm remained close when The Cosby Show ended. He said: "Malcolm calls here regularly." Warner's cause of death has been confirmed as "asphyxia by submersion" by local authorities in Costa Rica. The country's Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) explained in a statement that they "removed the body of a man who apparently died as a result of asphyxiation by submersion" who was later identified as the actor - who also starred in Suits and The Resident. Malcolm "entered the sea and was apparently swept away by a current", according to "preliminary information" reviewed by the OIJ. The statement continued: "The man was rescued by bystanders and taken to shore, where he received treatment from the Costa Rican Red Cross. However, he was declared lifeless at the scene." Tributes to Malcolm have poured in from across the showbiz world, with his 9-1-1 co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt stating that the tragedy "hurts my heart". She wrote on social media: "This hurts my heart. A gentleman, an incredible talent and we were so lucky to have him in the 9-1-1 family. Heartbroken and sending love to his family." Comedian Sherri Shepherd described Malcolm - who is survived by a wife and daughter whose identities he has kept private - as "one of the most-grounded people I've met in our business" after working with him on the TV series Sherri.
