We're calling it– Tesco F&F's animal print jeans will be everywhere this autumn
Though the weather has heated up this week, many of us are more than aware we're in the final few weeks of summer. So, instead of mourning the passing of the sunny season, we've been looking ahead to autumn dressing. One key buy that's just hit shelves is F&F at Tesco's latest denim offering, the F&F Edit Leopard Print Wide Leg Jeans in Brown.
Priced at a very affordable £25, they hit Tesco's online shop yesterday and are currently fully stocked in all sizes. However, considering how fast the rest of the autumn range flew off virtual shelves, you'll be lucky to find these in your size by next week. Our head of fashion Zoe also predicts they're about to become the new 'Zara spotty dress' for autumn (ie, the 'it' buy you'll be seeing everyone wearing.
Zoe says: "Snake print, leopard print and cow print, oh my! Animal prints are well and truly back for autumn/winter, but they're set to look a lot more elevated than the cheap prints of years gone. These F&F jeans are a perfect example of animal print but in a more muted colour palette and in a cool cut. My top tip? Get them before they're gone! As soon as TikTok finds out these have dropped, you won't be seeing them on shelves in your size."
With their muted tone, on-trend print and statement wide-leg shape, they bring a serious dose of style to your supermarket run. Made from a cotton-blend with just the right amount of stretch, they feel so comfy to wear and look far more expensive than their £25 price tag suggests.
The high-rise waist gives a flattering fit that nips you in before flowing into a wide leg that skims the hips and thighs. A five-pocket design and zip fly keep things practical, while the brown tones match perfectly with knitwear and tops of all neutral colouring. I paired them with F&F's (another sell-out buy for autumn, I predict), but I'd also wear them with a simple brown cami top like Free People's Fresh in Love Tank in double espresso, £24, for this warm weather week we're having.
Elsewhere, and on the subject of animal print, another buy that won't be around for long is Adidas Originals SL 72 OG trainers in cow print, £90 and exclusive to ASOS. They've just been restocked in the cream and the brown colourways, and look perfect paired with denim.

How I look like this at 75, by PENELOPE TREE: No Botox or surgery, but a 'magic' cream and face tape. Her 15 min routine that resets older bodies. The denim brand that's truly flattering. And the trick that 'fakes a tweakment'
It is a testament to the enduring power of Penelope Tree that she was recently seen dancing to Donna Summer's I Feel Love, as one of the world's 50 most famous models in a slick video made by Zara to mark its 50th year. And, as she strikes a pose for our cameras today, a lesson in effortless cool, you can see why the 1960s supermodel still holds her own next to the Campbells, Crawfords and Turlingtons of the industry. At 75, Tree continues to rock those cheekbones and exudes the confidence that made her the face of flower power. Yet she still gets nervous. 'Modelling is really fun, but I still find it a bit terrifying,' she admits in her New York tone. 'Truthfully, back in the day I was incredibly insecure. I was very shy, and I felt that everybody else was beautiful and I was this weirdo.'

Having a barbecue? Here are the best bottles to serve
M uch as I think that prescriptive food and wine rules are made to be broken, it's madness to serve any old wine with your barbecue and expect it to work. Forget wishy-washy whites, feeble pinks and skinny, unoaked, lower-alcohol reds and go for turbo-charged bottles with plenty of alcohol and attitude. With so many flavours piled high on your plate, it's a waste of money spending more than a tenner on your barbecue bottle, and braai-mad South Africa is the perfect source of these good-value tub-thumpers to go with meaty dishes. Check out Stellenrust, founded in 1928 and one of the largest family-owned estates in the country. It has made a cracking range of own-label pinotage for Tesco, including the vegan-approved, just-landed 2024 Finest Stellenbosch Pinotage, see star buys. Over at Waitrose until Tuesday you can nab one of South Africa's greats, none other than Kanonkop's dark, dusky, bramble-stashed 2023 Kanonkop Kadette Pinotage at £10, down from £14, with the sort of dreamy, velvety fruit that your guests will want endless top-ups of.
