
Future doctors urged to make service to humanity their core value
While addressing the first-year students of the MBBS session 2025–29 during the White Coat and oath-taking ceremony held at Lahore General Hospital, he stated that White Court recognized as a symbol of peace, and doctors work tirelessly to provide relief and comfort to their patients, often at the expense of their own rest and priorities. He pointed out that doctors are held in high regard by society which places a great responsibility on their shoulders to live up to public expectations.
Executive Director PINS Prof. Asif Bashir and other faculty members advised the aspiring doctors to adhere strictly to medical ethics, underscoring that medical education requires immense dedication focus and a strong commitment to learning.
Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain appealed to parents to remain actively involved in their children's academic and personal development.
The ceremony concluded with the administering of professional oath to the new medical students.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited National Center for Global Health, Japan's world-renowned hospital for treatment of infectious diseases. UHS sets up faculty councils
LAHORE: With a view to provide a structured forum to the teachers from its on-campus, constituent and affiliated institutions and to improve teaching standards, research output and assessment practices, the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has set up Discipline-Specific Faculty Councils (DSFCs). Under these councils, continued professional development (CPD) activities will be organised in each discipline. Alkhidmat opens another water filtration plant
KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi has inaugurated its 71st RO water filtration plant in the megacity, established in Block 7 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town in collaboration with the town administration. According to Alkhidmat on Monday, the plant will provide citizens with safe drinking water at affordable rates, with a proper testing system in place to ensure quality. The organisation noted that many residents still lack access to clean water, while contaminated supplies continue to pose serious health risks. Alkhidmat stated that, in addition to its filtration plants, it is running hundreds of other water projects including submersible and hand pumps, boreholes and wells in underprivileged and water-scarce areas.
