Weight loss story: Randeep Hooda's reveals how he lost 18 kilos in 28 days with...
When it comes to physical transformation in Bollywood, actors usually have a very strict lifestyle. Depending on their role and the character, they have to go through a strict diet regimen and rigorous exercise. Whether it's bulking up for a character or shedding extra pounds, these actors have to push their bodies to fit the requirements.
One such actor whose transformation created all the buzz is Randeep Hooda. Known for fully immersing himself in the roles and playing them like his second skin, Randeep has once again stunned his fans with his dramatic transformation of losing 18 kilograms in just 28 days for his character in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (2024). For Randeep's transformation, he went for a more sustainable route of discipline and inner-fasting awareness instead of a fad diet.
In a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, the Highway actor opened up about his intense transformation journey, revealing that the intention behind his transformation wasn't to promote a health trend but instead it stay authentic to his role.
Speaking more about his weight loss journey, Randeep emphasises the benefits of fasting. He shares, 'There is nothing better than fasting.' The 48-year-old actor shares that fasting can help our digestive system get the much-needed break. He says that our digestive system is always working day and night, which gives it very little time to heal and rest, and since most health issues stem from our gut, fasting is a great way to reset.
While highlighting the benefits of short-term fasting, Randeep also shares that this technique might not work for everyone. He always shares that fasting for 1 or 2 days can boost your energy level and make you feel and look younger in the long run.
Randeep also shares that while there are many types of fasts now, he stressed the importance of only consuming water, black coffee, green tea, and black tea during fasting periods and strictly warned against lemon water or coconut water. The goal, he said, is to keep insulin levels stable and avoid anything that could disrupt the fasting state. The longer one can go without consuming calories, the more healing and health benefits the body can unlock.
The actor also reveals that during his dramatic transformation, he 'stopped eating and drinking' for an extended time, which helped him to achieve his desired look but also took a toll on his health, he admitted candidly. But despite this, he stood by his decision of weight loss to stay true to his character.
This isn't the first time that Randeep's fitness and discipline have been applauded. Before this, for Sarbjit (2016), Randeep's dedication was appreciated and once again his dramatic weight loss of losing 18 kilos in 28 days has proved his commitment and dedication, not just for fitness but also towards his acting.

Jaat on OTT: Sunny Deol disappoints fans with film ‘as painful as Sikandar'
Jaat on OTT: Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda's Jaat received a tepid response at the box office, and its OTT release hasn't exactly set the digital world ablaze either. The film is facing harsh criticism for its unrealistic storyline, with some even finding it as underwhelming as Salman Khan's Sikandar. Also read: Sunny Deol was roped in for Jaat after this Tollywood actor declined it, reveals director The action thriller landed on Netflix on June 5, and its release was met with a mixed response. Several people took to social media to express their frustration, with many scratching their heads over the film's plot and over-the-top action. 'Watching #JaatOnNetflix 45 mins into it my 8yr old says the person who made this movie is the dumbest guy in the world,' shared one disappointed viewer. One wrote, 'Latest proof that the saviour genre is dead. Watching it was as painful as #Sikandar. Barely a Bollywood movie, a typical but outdated Tollywood action entertainer with 90% south crew & cast'. Another social media user shared, 'Finished watching Jaat. One of the most disappointing films I've seen in a long time. Not a single scene stood out and there was nothing engaging. Definitely didn't work for me'. However, some appreciated Randeep's performance. '#RandeepHooda as Ranatunga is one of the best villain arc written in recent times,' one wrote, with one mentioning, 'A rare gem #jaatonnetflix showcases how a villain should be portrayed.. Opposite a giant called #SUNNYDEOL as! Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh. Ruling people's heart #JAAT'. 'Jaat movie is actually good. Better than many masala movies and biggies which got success recently. Sunny Deol is slowly coming back to his form,' read one comment. "#JAAT is a decent regular south commercial film, highly running on mass elements & #GopichandMalineni done it again just like he promised 'MASS FEAST'... One time watch,' shared one. Jaat revolves around a mysterious man, played by Sunny, who chances upon a small village in Andhra Pradesh being oppressed by Ranatunga. The film also stars Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P Ravi Shankar and Babloo Prithiveeraj. It received mixed reviews, with some liking the over-the-top action while others being disappointed with the screenplay. At the time of the release, Jaat recently ran into controversy over a scene. In the film, the antagonist, Ranatunga, played by Randeep Hooda, threatens people inside a church with violence. He also stands in front of a crucifix while doing so. Though the makers blurred all religious imagery in the scene, the Christian community has called for a ban on the film. A video also showed protestors raising slogans of 'Randeep Hooda murdabad' for hurting religious sentiments. Despite lukewarm performance, the film will be back with Jaat 2, with Sunny reprising his role. Gopichand Malineni will also return to helm the sequel.

Randeep Hooda: We should try to infuse our heritage into today's fashion
was recently in Gurgaon to walk the ramp for Filipino designer Michael Cinco at the second edition of Times Lifestyle Week. Calling it a fairytale show, akin to a painting, Randeep, who wore a black floor-length robe with an embroidered jacket, said, 'I quite enjoyed being on the ramp. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now ' Most of my life, I have roamed around in T-shirt and jeans, but now I believe that it is better to be overdressed than to be underdressed Randeep Hooda Talking about his personal style, he said, 'Most of my life, I have roamed around in T-shirt and jeans, but now I believe that it is better to be overdressed than underdressed. Fashion is about adorning the human body with something that accentuates its already existing beauty.' The actor says his fashion sense has evolved since his marriage to Lin Laishram, adding that he has started accessorising now When asked if there's a particular aspect of traditional Haryanvi attire that he wished gets recognised on the global fashion map, he said, 'The Haryanvi headgear is very exotic. It gives a feeling of timelessness, which I really like. The comfort and easy fit in regional fashion draws me. We should go back to our heritage and find ways of infusing it into today's fashion rather than aping the west. There's nothing like wearing your heritage on your sleeve, quite literally. ' Sharing some fashion advice, the Highway actor said, 'Be yourself, and don't give into fads. I also believe that one should choose to have a style statement that is timeless, which doesn't have to change with every trend.' The Sarbjit actor, who recently got back in the saddle after almost two years and also donned the hat of a director, said, "Living and dying in a saddle was a dream, but I have many other saddles that I need to straddle. Riding the horse has taken a backseat due to injuries and work, but it is something I want to pursue all my life. I want to be 80-something and still be riding a horse."
