Drive-by shooting leaves damage to vehicles and residence in Cayuga, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for help from the public after they said a drive-by shooting caused property damage south of Brantford early Tuesday.
In a social media post, OPP said they were called to a residence on Thorburn Street in Cayuga for reports of a shooting at around 2:15 a.m.
Police determined an unknown suspect drove-by the home and shot a firearm multiple times, causing damage to a residence and vehicles parked in the driveway.
No one was hurt.
Thorburn Street was closed between Concession Road 1 South and Joseph Street East for several hours.
OPP are asking anyone with information or video of the area during the incident to contact them at 1 (888) 310 1122.

Create Account In January 2024, the OPP Contraband Tobacco Enforcement Team (CTET) began a probe into the suspected trafficking of contraband tobacco, including shisha tobacco and contraband cigarettes, by a GTA network. On July 4, 2024, CTET executed three search warrants in the GTA that led to the seizure of more than 800 kilos of shisha tobacco, more than 16,000 contraband cigarettes, and $30,000 in Canadian currency. Photo by Handout / OPP On Oct. 24, 2024, 16 search warrants were executed in Brantford, Burlington, Mississauga, Vaughan and Scarborough and about 19,000 kilos of contraband tobacco, valued at $2.3 million, was seized, as well as electronic devices. Ali Mallah, 58, of Toronto, was arrested in November 2024 and charged with trafficking contraband tobacco. In April of this year, four more individuals — Omar Omran, 25, of Scarborough, Nael Alwarasaneh, 36, of Burlington, and Abdelrahman Hasan, 28, and Saif Hasan, 20, both of Brantford — were charged with trafficking contraband tobacco. The whisky was top-shelf, and so was the crime — smooth, aged, and worth more than half a million dollars. Article content The Windsor Police Service on Friday announced the arrests of five suspects, with the hunt continuing for two more tied to a $500,000-plus night-time alcohol heist in the city last month. Article content Article content Investigators said the suspects broke into a fenced-in facility located in the 3300 block of Devon Drive, located near Windsor's Devonshire Heights neighbourhood, shortly before 9 p.m. on May 17, 2025. Article content The Windsor police 'target base unit' launched an investigation and soon identified five suspects connected to the boozy heist. Officers determined that a cube van stolen earlier from a business in the 1000 block of Walker Road in Windsor was also connected to the crime. Article content Article content Following arrests in Windsor and Essex County, the five suspects face a raft of charges, including each being charged with a count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence: Jason Greenwood, 46 (nine criminal counts, including break and enter and theft; theft of motor vehicle; possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000); Anthony Nelson, 57 (six counts); Erica Nelson, 44 (four counts); Justin Vachon, 27 (two counts); and William Girard, 49 (one count).
