Adam Collard reveals terrifying moment he was in 'unbearable pain' as Laura Woods called 999

Love Island star Adam Collard was rushed to hospital and had surgery after he was left 'biting and screaming into a pillow' in 'unbearable' pain before losing all feeling in his leg
Adam Collard has revealed the moment his partner Laura Woods was forced to call an ambulance as he was left in 'unbearable pain'.
The former Love Island star, 29, revealed yesterday he had been hospitalised and had back surgery. Adam shared photos of himself dressed in a hospital gown and laying in a hospital bed.

Following the shocking revelation on his health, new dad Adam, who's fiancée Laura gave birth to their first child in January, has revealed more about the circumstances that saw him eventually left in 'unbearable pain' and 'biting and screaming into a pillow' as his wife-to-be dialled 999.

In a series of lengthy Instagram Story posts, Adam explained how he had began experiencing a 'tweak' before it descended into 'another level of pain and discomfort'. After seeking help from physios and osteopaths, he was told the pain was "probably a bit a bit "discy" and was also causing me to have sciatica".
Adam was given a plan to go "back to basics, remove stress and strengthen weak points, pain medication to reduce inflammation". He explained the plan saw a "yo-yo of improve a little bit, then go backwards again and be in excruciating pain". The former reality star left "no stone unturned" and was "consistent" with the rehabilitation plan given.
Explaining the continuing pain, Adam wrote: "This was extremely depressing to the point where I couldn't sit in a chair without pain. It was either lying flat or standing. Driving the car was a solid 9/10 pain, and even feeling Leo in bed was unbearable because of the slump position of the lumbar spine. Not ideal when you have a newborn... Which got to me mentally as well as physically."
He was given painkillers to "help the pain and knock me out" but it meant he was left unable to look after his son, Leo, in the evenings – and if he was to 'skip' taking the medication he would be left in excruciating pain again.
Adam then explained: "We then decided to push for Spinal injections, nerve root blockers after lots of research to try and give me some form of relief as it developed to me not being able to get my own socks on after a while and I was still trying to work in the gym."

He said the jabs were "amazing" and felt "astonishing progress" on the third day of taking them. Adam added: "After 2 weeks of serious profress and being super content, I was writing a long term plan for the next 6 months on how to train around this and build back up. Strength, limited lowerbody, pilates and core."
However, sadly, he was left in unbearable pain one day, which saw Laura, 37, have to call for help. Adam explained: "Then last Wednesday I was driving home for 30 minutes after a full day at work, and by the time I got home I could barely walk into the house. The pain was unbareable to the point I was biting and screaming into my pillow, I couldn't find comfort and after an hour I lost the feeling in my right leg all the way down to my toes. Not able to lift it from the hip. Which was scary and Laura had to ring an ambulance.

"After contacting my specialist who did my original spinal injections he got me back in for an MRI to compare the difference in the disc from a month prior. The disc was ruptured and almost fully compressing the siatic nerve, hence the loss of feeling in my right leg.
"After this, we opted for Lumbar Decompression and Discectomy operation to shave the discs down and release the nerve." Speaking of the surgery, Adam added: "Surgery went well, I've already got the feeling back in my leg now which is great now it's just sore from the wound on my back.

"My surgeon said that once he cut in he realised the discs were very bad. One of them had cracked so it was pushing into my sciatic nerve. Now the real work begins, a slow build up, full recovery and being smart around my training for the next 12 months and probably forever in some cases."
He then ended his message by sending thanks to those who have supported him. Adam penned: "Thank you to those closest to me for helping out over the last few months, my friends and family, and all of you lot and your messages reaching out.
Adamant not to allow the medical setback get the best of him, he defiantly declared at the end of his post: "Now it's Comeback SZN..."

Arabella Chi hits back at mum-shaming trolls after receiving ‘really really nasty' messages just days after giving birth

ARABELLA Chi had to pause posting about her new baby to hit back at trolls who sent her horrible messages about her post-baby body. The 34-year-old gave birth to daughter Gigi Harper Henty on May 20, and has been showing her toned body in recent days. 5 5 5 Arabella argued she was showing her "15 days post partum" so that others might be inspired to train during their pregnancy. "Unfortunately I fell like I need to address this but after the story I put up yesterday... I have received some really really really nasty messages from people (as well as some lovely ones)," Arabella began in an Instagram story. She posted the message in white text over a black background and explained she uses her "platform to share my life with my followers." "I showed you all how hard I trained throughout my pregnancy for not just my physical appearance but my mental state as training has always been a positive part of my life," Arabella wrote. "I was amazed that my body did bounce back as quickly as it did and I am proud of myself." The Love Island alum argued that she didn't post her body pic "to be insensitive to people that might not 'bounce back' as quickly but to share I was proud that all that training I had done had paid off and to inspire other people that if you train safely throughout your pregnancy it does make a difference." Arabella concluded by writing: "Don't get me wrong, post partum isn't always glamorous, most days I'm covered in sick, milk, blood or poo. But it's also nice to share the small wins on here." Her followup Instagram story showed Arabella cuddling up with Gigi, "after a very exciting shoot." Arabella revealed last month that she and boyfriend Billy Henty had welcomed a baby girl. Alongside a photo of their new arrival, Arabella wrote: "Our worlds are complete. Pregnant Love Island star Arabella Chi shows off huge bump as she lifts weights in the gym "Gigi Harper Henty, 20/05/2025, 6.2 lbs." Arabella first shot to fame on series five of Love Island in 2019. She returned to the show for the first series of the All Stars spin-off in 2024. The Sun revealed Arabella and Billy's relationship in September last year. A month later the couple made their first red carpet appearance as they attended a film premiere in London.

Love Island's Harry Cooksley and Ben Holbrough insist they WILL have sex in the villa - and have already warned families about romps airing on TV

Love Island's Harry Cooksley and Ben Holbrough have insisted that they WILL have sex in the villa - and have already warned their families about saucy romps airing to the nation. Semi professional footballer Harry, 30, and private hire taxi driver Ben, 23, are two of the sexy singletons looking for love on this year's summer series. In recent years, the Islanders taking part in the ITV2 series have shied away from talking about or 'doing bits'. But these two hunks don't seem phased by it at all - and have even spoken to their family about it. When asked about if would go all the way, Harry from Guildford, Surrey, said: 'Listen... It's not out of question. 'If it feels right then I will. I have briefed my mum as well. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'So yeah, if it feels right and it's the right time, I'm definitely open to it.' Meanwhile Ben from Gloustershire said: 'I can never say never. 'You know, you gotta take every day as it comes. 'Who knows... there's a girl and I was trying to bed with, and she's sexy... Who knows, cuddling every night, it could get carried away. 'The hideaway is there as well, so we'll wait and see.' He's also come up with a plan of what to tell his younger family members if they ever ask what was going on. He added: 'I've already told them [family], I'll try my best to keep it PG, I will try my best, because I know my niece and stuff is going to be watching as well. 'So I actually, I've got actually got to try. 'But there's nothing wrong with just putting a quick cover over... 'We're just having a cuddle. 'That's all it was.' It comes after their new co-star Sophie Lee revealed her battle with an 'incurable tumour' after a horror fire-breathing accident. Sophie from Manchester, has opened up about how she was forced to 'sign her life over as a medical guinea pig'. The author and motivational speaker had been working as a professional dancer and fire performer when she was 22 for 18-months before she suffered horrific burns to her face and chest during a freak accident in the United States. She was performing at a charity event in Chicago when the venue's air conditioning blew flames she was expelling from her mouth back into her face, leaving her with serious, life-threatening burns. The author and motivational speaker had been working as a professional dancer and fire performer when she was 22 for 18-months before she suffered horrific burns to her face and chest during a freak accident in the United States 'I'm very lucky to be alive,' Sophie revealed, before sharing that the burn 'escalated to become a keloid tumour'. The motivational speaker faced issues getting a diagnosis in England but when she was told she had a keloid tumour, she felt she 'became an international case study'. 'I found out that there was no cure in the world for keloid tumours. So you know, surgeons from around the world scrambling trying to find out the best way to cure keloid tumours,' she added. The Love Islander had intralesional cryosurgery twice, which involved liquid nitrogen being injected into the tumour to freeze it off and allow new skin to form. Sophie said: 'Then I went through stages of steroid injections to bring down any more sides of the scar because they didn't want to perform the surgery again. 'I was told that, you know, being a guinea pig, I basically signed my life over. 'There was no guarantee of success, of surgery or survival because of where it was. You know, there's always at risk of surgery.' The motivational speaker faced issues getting a diagnosis in England but when she was told she had a keloid tumour, she felt she 'became an international case study' However, the steroid injections eventually stopped working for Sophie and she had to then move on to chemotherapy injections. 'It was injected into my tumour, and you know, that took it out of me,' she explained. The horrific accident and journey treating the keloid tumour impacted Sophie's dating life and she had times where she didn't feel 'sexy', 'cute' or 'ready to have a partner'. She added: 'Which is why I didn't want to date, whereas now I've worked on myself.' As she enters the Love Island villa, Sophie is open to finding romance on the show and said: 'I've took time away from just embracing in the trauma and you know, now I'm a motivational speaker I feel like now I'm in a place where I'm ready to find my partner and find my person.' Sophie has since turned to modelling and influencing and has even written a book about her experience. She also works with Katie Piper 's foundation, which supports people living with burns and scars. The new series will kick off on Monday 9th June, one week later than previous years. The last season of the ITV dating programme - which was the second All Stars version - ended in February, and saw Gabby Allen and Casey O'Gorman crowned champions, before their split earlier this month. Fans will be happy to know that it's not long before they will get their Love Island fix. A post shared on ITV's social media featured a snap unveiling the return date, along with the caption: 'Mark your calendar, you're invited to this year's hottest meeting... 'Agenda: Initial coupling, strategic navigation of red flags, and identification of potential long-term partnerships.'

Olivia Attwood 'frustrated' as ITV The Price of Perfection filming halted last minute

The second series of The Price of Perfection will see Olivia Attwood explore the world of cosmetic surgery and the reasons behind people's pursuit of physical perfection Olivia Attwood has shared her experience of an unexpected disruption while filming the new series of The Price of Perfection. The 34-year-old host is delving into the cosmetic surgery realm and what drives individuals to seek physical perfection once more. ‌ In one of the upcoming episodes, Olivia heads to Turkey to learn about a young woman's decision to have cosmetic surgery, but the shoot encountered unforeseen issues. ‌ While preparing to observe what she described as the "most complex procedure" she has ever witnessed, Olivia received disappointing news that the lead surgeon did not want the entire operation being filmed. Following back-and-forth conversations and phone calls, permission was granted for Olivia to witness only the final stages of the operation. This compromise left her feeling disillusioned, reports the Daily Star. Sharing her thoughts with journalists, Olivia said: "It was awful because obviously a lot goes into planning these shoots and we travelled all the way out there and there was so much involved in the research." She expressed concern by saying, "For myself, I was thinking this is a massive red flag. Is she going to be ok? Why have they after weeks and months of conversations suddenly changed their mind? There was a load of things that were going on in my mind at the time of possibilities why they reached that decision." Despite the upset, Olivia emphasised the importance of authenticity, stating: "It was frustrating but we decided to tell the story as it is because that is the reality of what happened. They did change their mind at the absolute final hour and we told that story in its truthfulness." ‌ In the upcoming second series of The Price of Perfection, Olivia delves into six distinct elements within the beauty industry: Weight Loss, Smile, Skin, Mummy Makeover, Men and Spending 100K and Counting. The audience will witness the Love Island icon and Loose Women panelist immerse herself among clients and clinicians, uncover the vast selection of treatments now on offer and even test some out personally, such as pioneering energy procedures to the purported benefits of salmon sperm injections. ‌ The new series welcomes reappearances from well-known personalities and extensive chats with stars including Lottie Moss, Kate Moss' younger sister and Chantelle Connelly from Geordie Shore. After Lottie, aged 27, was admitted to hospital following her use of Ozempic, presenter Olivia discloses that she was eager to grasp why Lottie resorted to this medication initially. ‌ Olivia confessed: "I was excited about a weight loss episode.. It's something that we just all hear about so much but actually I had very little understanding of how it actually works." She added: "It had a lot of press but I wanted to understand more about the detail behind it, why someone so petite would take Ozempic." Despite the tough conversation ahead, considering the potential criticisms Lottie might face, Olivia commended her candidness: "It's not an easy conversation to have when she knows she's probably going to receive a fair amount of backlash but she was really honest. It's important to have those conversations."
