‘Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion' Finally Shows Some New Gameplay

Forbes4 days ago

It's taken a while, but we're finally getting to see more of Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion in action, and it's definitely impressive.
Specifically, two new trailers for Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion have dropped. The first (shown below) covers 'particle weapons', which are functional additions to your Arsenal.
They come in three varieties: Assault Shift (AS), Guard Shift (GS), and Wing Shift (WS).
The first offers minor ancillary weapons fire, the second gives you added protection, and the third increases your aerial mobility. All three use Femto, which was one of the main fuel types from the first Daemon X Machina.
The second video (shown below) covers the game story, and this is where things get weird.
This is because for the first Daemon X Machina, the story was an incomprehensible mess. While there was a very nice prologue anime done by Satelight that set the tone of the narrative, the game's eventual story was just plain confusing.
The interesting thing here, though, is that the new Arsenals are scaled to power armor, and that means you can get actual characters sans-helmet emoting in cutscenes.
For all the failings of the first Daemon X Machina's story, it did try very hard to add proper characterization into the game.
Most mecha games, such as Armored Core, had a historically hard time landing a solid narrative, because you rarely got to see any of the characters.
So this time around, not only are we getting characters in power armor, but also a new character designer, Kimihiko Fujisaka, whom I interviewed a while back for Terra Battle.
In any case, story weirdness aside, Titanic Scion is shaping up to being an interesting mecha game and I'm looking forward to taking it through its paces once it is released on September 5.

5 sci-fi movies on Netflix you need to watch in June 2025

Netflix's sci-fi page is light on new movies in June. Due to the lack of new entries, our recommendations are movies that have been on the streamer for months. One of our picks is Dune, the original movie adaptation from the '80s, not the 2020s. If Dune isn't your speed, try Godzilla Minus One, a masterful monster movie. The Oscar-winning film might even move you to tears. If you don't believe me, then try it yourself along with these other films. Recommended Videos We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+. Godzilla Minus One (2023) The recent Godzilla movies are mindless entertainment. That's a compliment, by the way. Watching Godzilla form a tag team with Kong to take on otherworldly creatures is a satisfying time at the movies. However, Godzilla Minus One is in a league of its own. The Oscar-winning epic follows Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki), a Japanese WWII pilot who defects from his post, only to watch his comrades get wiped out by Godzilla. Plagued by survivor's guilt, Shikishima gets a shot at redemption when he joins a small group of soldiers chosen to defend Japan from Godzilla. Who knew a movie with a giant lizard could include one of the most moving depictions of grief and trauma? Stream Godzilla Minus One on Netflix. The Adam Project (2022) Shawn Levy's last three movies have all been headlined by Ryan Reynolds. The first movie, Free Guy, became a sleeper hit, and the most recent, Deadpool & Wolverine, broke box office records. The movie sandwiched between the two was The Adam Project, a sci-fi adventure and one of the five most popular English-language movies on Netflix. Pilot Adam Reed (Reynolds) travels back in time from 2050 to 2022 when he encounters his 12-year-old self (Walker Scobell) one year after the death of his father. Adult Adam must work with his younger self to prevent the assassination of his wife (Zoe Saldaña). Like most of Levy's movies, there's a surprising amount of heart in this middle-of-the-road sci-fi adventure. Stream The Adam Project on Netflix. Dune (1984) Is Dune bad? The film's director, the late David Lynch, disowned the movie. Two things can be true: Dune is mediocre, and it was ahead of its time. Before Timothée Chalamet became Lisan al Gaib, Kyle MacLachlan starred as Paul Atreides, the heir to House Atreides who must unite the Fremen on Arrakis in their fight against the Harkonnens. Lynch's movie is a fascinating attempt to bring an unadaptable book to the screen. The large amount of exposition forced Denis Villeneuve to split up the source material into two movies. Still, Lynch laid the blueprint for Villeneuve's spectacular adaptations. Stream Dune on Netflix. Time Cut (2024) Time Cut is Scream with a time travel storyline. In the present, Lucy Field (Madison Bailey) still mourns the death of her older sister, Summer Field (Antonia Gentry). The Fields' parents also struggle to cope and neglect Lucy in the process. While exploring a strange light in a barn, Lucy discovers a time machine and travels back to 2003, days before Summer's death. Gifted with this newfound opportunity, Lucy plans to save her sister. Be prepared for some physics because time travel movies have specific rules that must be obeyed. Stream Time Cut on Netflix. Outside the Wire (2021) Anthony Mackie playing a soldier is not exclusive to the Captain America movies. Mackie played an android super-soldier in Outside the Wire. Drone pilot Thomas Harp (Damson Idris) disobeys an order to save nearly 40 soldiers. However, two Marines die from Harp's mistake, so he's sent to combat duty at a base in the Ukraine as punishment. Harp now serves under the command of Harp (Mackie), who is secretly an android disguised as a human. The two reluctantly team up to find a doomsday device before nuclear war breaks out. Outside the Wire is a serviceable sci-fi action movie with two charismatic leads. Stream Outside the Wire on Netflix.

‘First Night With The Duke' Has Fun With A Fantasy One Night Stand

First Night With The Duke is a lighthearted k-drama romance about an unhappy modern-day woman who wakes up in her favorite novel and spends an unexpected night with a prince. It's not a fairy tale ending. At least not right away. When he assumes they will marry, she tries to escape. Is marrying a handsome prince such a bad idea? Yes and no. It's not how the story is supposed to go. Seohyun plays K, a young woman who retreats from the real world by reading a romantic historical novel. Her real life can't compare to the novel, so she stops paying attention to real life. She's on leave from her job and the bills are piling up. None of that is as interesting as the romance between the novel's poor orphan Eun-Jae and the handsome prince Yi Beon. Then one day K falls into the novel. It's an improvement. In the novel world she's Cha Sun-Chaek, a side character without too much to do except enjoy her fictional family's wealth. Then the plot goes sideways. The handsome but short-tempered prince, Yi Beon, played by Taecyeon, doesn't meet the female lead that he must fall in love with. At least according to the novel. Instead he saves a very drunken Sun-chaek, who promptly spends the night with him. One night is all it takes for him to propose. It's not just that she seduced him. He's also intrigued by how much she seems to know about the inner workings of his mind. As a faithful reader she read his thoughts on the printed page. K/Sun-chaek knows that the prince is supposed to meet Jo Eun-ae, played by Kwon Han-sol, a character she genuinely likes. She loves the novel and doesn't want it to change. She's also afraid that if she becomes the prince's fiancée, she might be targeted by the cruel noblewoman Do Hwa-seon, played by Ji Hye-won (Hierarchy). Hwa-seon wants to marry the prince and will seek to eliminate any rivals. Sun-chaek tries to run but the prince is determined to find her and get her to accept his proposal. Acting in a fantasy rom-com like this must be a lot of fun and Seohyun and Taecyeon play their roles to great comic effect. Both actors have demonstrated their comedy skills before, Seohyun memorably in Jinxed At First and Taecyeon in Vincenzo, Seohyun, a member of Girls Generation, can also be seen in the dramas such as Private Lives and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, while Taecyeon, a member of the k-pop group 2PM, appeared in the dramas Heartbeat and Save Me. First Night With The Duke also stars Seo Bum-june (Hierarchy), playing Jung Su-gyeom, an officer who is Yi Beon's only friend. A note to viewers who like historical dramas for the costumes, the art production in this drama is lovely and the hanboks are ornately embroidered. The novel's fictional world is suitably embellished with richly patterned silks, colorful ornaments, flowers and decor. First Night With The Duke is directed by Lee Woong-hee, who directed My Perfect Stranger. The story is based on the webnovel "Namjuui Cheotnalbameul Gajeobeoryeodda' by Hwang Do-tol (published on Naver).

Actor Sanya Malhotra Enters Wellness Sector with Launch of BREE Matcha

You're reading Entrepreneur India, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media. In a strategic move that marks her debut as an entrepreneur, Bollywood actor Sanya Malhotra has joined hands with wellness industry's Dr. Kunal Shah and Siddharth Shah—founders of Essenzaa Nutrition—to launch BREE Matcha, a lifestyle brand rooted in traditional Japanese tea culture. The announcement, detailed in a press release by BREE Matcha, positions the brand at the intersection of ancient rituals and modern Indian wellness habits. BREE Matcha introduces three core products—Everyday Matcha, Ceremonial Matcha, and a Ceremonial Matcha Kit—sourced directly from Kagoshima, Japan. The brand is built on the foundation of matcha's reputed benefits, including sustained energy, improved focus, and antioxidant support, without the side effects typically associated with caffeine consumption. The products also reflect Essenzaa Nutrition's 14-year track record in clean-label, clinically supported wellness formulations. For Malhotra, the project stems from personal experience. "At a time when everything feels urgent, BREE Matcha is my personal reminder to slow down and be intentional," she said. The actor, known for her offbeat roles and grounded public image, shared that adopting matcha into her daily routine helped her find calm amid the chaos of a demanding career. The collaboration took root when Malhotra's growing affinity for matcha intersected with Essenzaa's exploration into functional superfoods tailored to Indian consumers. What began as a casual conversation evolved into a brand that seeks to offer more than just a beverage. "We wanted to introduce a product that aligns with both health and lifestyle," said Dr. Kunal Shah. "BREE is not just about energy, it's about how you choose to show up in your day." Essenzaa Nutrition, which exports wellness products to over 23 countries, sees BREE as a natural evolution in its mission to offer thoughtful health solutions. Siddharth Shah, co-founder of the company, emphasized the cultural and behavioral aspect of the initiative. "BREE Matcha is not just a beverage—it's a movement towards conscious consumption and modern wellness," he said. "Our vision is to make matcha a part of everyday rituals for the new-age Indian consumer."
