Here are the all-time Pole winners in Formula E
Oliver Rowland secured pole position in the Monaco Round 7 qualifying session, but the so-called 'pole curse' at Monaco—where no pole-sitter has won the race since 2021—continued. Rowland had to settle for second place in the race. Interestingly, he had won Round 6 after starting from second on the grid. Over the course of 85 Formula E races, Rowland has now achieved 9 poles, 6 wins, and 18 podiums.
DS Penske's Jean-Eric Vergne holds the all-time record for the most Formula E pole positions, with 17 from 137 race starts. He has 11 wins and 36 podiums in his career.
Buemi started from eighth on the grid but managed to clinch a long-awaited victory in Monaco Round 7. This was his third win at the Monaco E-Prix. The Envision Racing driver had previously won in 2015 and 2017, converting pole positions into race victories on both occasions. Buemi now has 16 poles in 134 races, with 14 wins and 33 podiums in his Formula E career.
Mitch Evans, who won the season's first Sao Paulo E-Prix, is still awaiting his next victory. The Jaguar TCS Racing driver has earned 9 poles in 118 races and boasts 13 wins and 32 podiums overall.

The drivers now look ahead to the upcoming Tokyo E-Prix doubleheader in Japan, scheduled for May 17 and 18. Rowland is considered one of the strong contenders, especially after his recent Monaco podium and a strong performance in Japan last season.

Trinity Rodman reacts to Ben Shelton's Toronto win with funny takes on tennis traditions (Image via Getty) Trinity Rodman and Ben Shelton have been a couple for less than six months. As Ben Shelton reached the semi‑finals of the National Bank Open in Toronto on August 6, 2025, the Washington Spirit forward posed questions about tennis that even he couldn't clearly explain. She turned to fans with fresh confusion and curiosity. Her post became a bridge between two sports worlds, drawing attention to etiquette, traditions, and the differences between soccer and tennis. Trinity Rodman asks tennis questions after Ben Shelton wins quarterfinal On August 6, 2025, Ben Shelton beat Alex de Minaur in Toronto in straight sets (6‑3, 6‑4) to advance to the National Bank Open semi‑finals. Trinity Rodman, 23, watched from afar and shared a TikTok video asking tennis fans for help understanding the game. She admitted that she asked Ben Shelton about tennis rules but his answers left her more confused. One question she stressed: why do players raise their hand and say 'sorry' when they win a point after the ball hits the net? She compared it to scoring off the post in soccer and apologising to the goalkeeper, something she found puzzling. She also wondered why tennis players must act so reserved after winning a point, as showing strong emotion can be seen as cocky. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What Happens To Celebrities That Go To Jail? Undo Trinity Rodman pointed to the strict traditions at events like Wimbledon, where players and even fans wear all white, a rule she doesn't understand compared to soccer's varied jerseys. She joked that a match between Ben Shelton and Flavio Cobolli felt like a 'Spider‑Man meme' because they wore nearly identical outfits. Trinity Rodman wrapped up the video by suggesting two changes: let players choose the music during changeovers and extend the 90‑second break between games. She said long waits can cause missed bathroom breaks or lost games. Her video drew over 137 comments from fans who didn't think her questions were 'stupid'. 'Maybe it's useless' - Sophie Cunningham reacts after WNBA fines her for podcast remarks
'Maybe it's useless' - Sophie Cunningham reacts after WNBA fines her for podcast remarks (Image Source: Getty Images) Sophie Cunningham, guard for the Indiana Fever, is back in the headlines, this time, not for her game, but for her words. The WNBA veteran recently launched her own podcast, giving fans a closer look into her thoughts. But one strong opinion has already drawn action from the league. Now, her voice off the court is causing just as much buzz as her plays on it. Sophie Cunningham fined after first podcast episode launched On July 31, Sophie Cunningham, guard for the Indiana Fever, released the first episode of her podcast called 'Show Me Something.' The podcast was filmed just days after her social media went viral for her strong defense of rookie teammate Caitlin Clark. In the debut episode, Sophie Cunningham openly criticized WNBA referees. She said, 'If I was a ref, I know I would mess up all the time… but when it is a simple call right in front of your face multiple times, what are you doing?' Due to those remarks, the WNBA fined her $1,500. She revealed the fine on August 5, 2025, during the second episode of her podcast. Cunningham had already been fined $500 on July 23, for a TikTok video she posted the week before. In the video, she lip-synced to the lyrics 'Stupid or is it slow? Maybe it's useless?' from the song 'Manchild' by Sabrina Carpenter, while tagging referees with the caption '@ some refs.' Cunningham calls the WNBA fines 'a joke' while others agree officiating is an issue Sophie Cunningham didn't hold back in her reaction. On the podcast released on August 5, she said, 'You fining me $500 is not going to do shit… and then I'll get fined for that, and then I'll get fined for this, and the fines will continue.' Cunningham, who is now in her sixth season, has seen a huge rise in social media followers, 1.6 million on TikTok and 1.2 million on Instagram, after standing up for Caitlin Clark in multiple games this season. While Sophie Cunningham may be the loudest voice right now, she isn't the only one pointing fingers at referees. On July 1, Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky said in a press conference, 'Officiating in this league has to be fixed.' Back in October 2024, after the WNBA Finals, Cheryl Reeve, head coach of the Minnesota Lynx, said the title was 'stolen' from her team due to bad calls. Even WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert spoke on this at the All-Star Game in June 2025, saying, 'We hear the concerns and are working on improvements.' The conversation around referee decisions isn't going away anytime soon, and players like Cunningham are making sure of it.
