Jennifer Lopez Sings About ‘Wreckage' In New Song Inspired By Ben Affleck
On Wednesday, July 2, Jennifer Lopez offered a listening party in Los Angeles to some lucky fans, where she sang six songs and a new ballad called 'Wreckage of You,' according to People. The song reportedly touches on themes inspired by her divorce from Ben Affleck. The singer filed last year in August on what would have been their second wedding anniversary.
One lucky fan at the concert, Edgardo Luis Rivera, told Us Weekly, ''Wreckage of You' is a pop ballad that she told us she cowrote and recorded two weeks ago. She said she was lying in bed after a long day of tour rehearsals when the idea of the song came to her. She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally. She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself. Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger.'
Lopez also performed her older hits, including 'Up All Night,' 'Regular,' 'Free,' 'Save Me Tonight,' and 'Birthday.'
Since her split from Affleck, Lopez has been very candid about the challenges that she faced around their break up, telling Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine that it 'almost did take [her] out for good.'
'I was thinking about this time in my life, and I'm like, 'That's not what I thought it was going to turn out like,'' Lopez shared. 'And then I thought, 'No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go.''
She continued, 'That doesn't mean it didn't almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'Fuck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a fucking sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don't have to do it again.''

Jennifer Lopez shares entirely makeup free selfie to mark 56th birthday
Jennifer Lopez just turned 56 and celebrated her birthday right in the middle of her 'Up All Night' tour. And on top of slipping into a backless silver dress/partying with friends (while dancing to her new song 'Birthday,' naturally), JLo shared a bunch of photos to Instagram – including one without an ounce of makeup. If you just don't have it in you to scroll, here: In case you're wondering how JLo keeps her skin so glow-y, that would be her own brand, JLo Beauty. The singer confirmed that she does, in fact, use her products while answering fan questions, saying, "I've been diving into everything that you guys have been saying about JLo Beauty... Do you use this every day or just when the cameras are on? That's funny because I'm standing in my actual bathroom right now. No, I use it. I use it every day." She also responded to feedback that her skincare is too expensive, explaining, "Listen, I get it. Your skin is something that you have to show up with every single day. So, if there is a little bit of splurge in you, I would say do it on skincare, without a doubt." JLo then addressed scepticism about celebrity skincare brands in general, saying "Some of it isn't [worth the hype]," and noting that her brand is "luxury skincare that is clinically tested and trust me, I don't cut corners." On that note: Mehera Bonner is a celebrity and entertainment news writer who enjoys Bravo and Antiques Roadshow with equal enthusiasm, She was previously entertainment editor at Marie Claire and has covered pop culture for over a decade.

Jennifer Lopez laughs off wardrobe malfunction after losing her skirt onstage: 'I'm glad I had underwear on'
The pop star is currently headlining her Up All Night Tour. Jennifer Lopez handled a wardrobe malfunction mid-concert like a pro after her shimmering gold skirt ended up "On the Floor." While ringing in her 56th birthday at a concert stop in Warsaw, Poland, on July 24, Jenny from the block let out a yelp after her skirt dropped to the floor during a crowd rendition of "Happy Birthday." Promptly after the mishap, the pop star smiled and strutted around the stage. "I'm out here in my underwear," she said. Lopez then tossed the skirt into the audience. "I'm glad I had underwear on," she said at the end of the song. "I don't usually wear underwear." Then, later, to the fan who caught the garment: "Yes! You can keep it. You can have it. I don't want it back." The moment unfolds around the two minute mark of the video above. The show, held at PGE Narodow, is part of Lopez's ongoing Up All Night Live Tour, launched on July 8 in Spain, and her first in six years. She originally planned to return to the stage with the This Is Me ... Live Tour last summer, but canceled the run amid reports of low ticket sales and separation from Ben Affleck. The former couple's divorce was finalized earlier this year. "I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life," she told Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine. "And I'm glad I did, because it was a really difficult time for me. Probably the hardest time of my life, but it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself.""I have the most understanding and loving fans in the world," Lopez added. "Some fan bases can be spicy. Mine are just a bunch of lovers." The 19-date Up All Night Tour will span Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, concluding Aug. 10 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Lopez is also set to return to the big screen with Bill Condon's Kiss of the Spider Woman, in theaters Oct. 10. The musical drama, about two prisoners who form an unlikely bond over a Hollywood musical, is based on the novel by Manuel Puig and has notably also been adapted into a 1985 film with William Hurt and a 1993 Broadway musical.
