Pete Davidson on Becoming a Father: 'It's Been My Dream Forever'

Elle23-07-2025
THE RUNDOWN:
Pete Davidson is ready for fatherhood. At the New York City premiere of his new horror movie The Home on July 22, Davidson said that he 'couldn't be more excited' about becoming a dad.
'As you know, it's been my dream forever since I was a little kid,' he told Entertainment Tonight. 'The baby's mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist, ever. She's going to be a great mom, and I'm just stoked. And I hope to be the dad that I hoped that I would have.'
He shared with E! that he's 'very lucky and very, very happy.' Davidson also said that he can't wait to 'take care of something and show it the childhood I didn't have.'
His good friends, like Adam Sandler, have also given him some parenting tips. 'Everybody's just been super excited for me, because they know it's been my dream,' he added. 'They all just have been like, 'You're going to be great at this. It's the best thing you'll ever do in your life.' Sandler gave me some great advice.'
The support extends to his family, too. A source shared with E! that his mom is 'thrilled' and 'can't wait to become a grandma.'
The baby news broke last week when his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, announced that they are expecting their first child on Instagram. 'Welp now everyone knows we had sex,' she wrote in her caption. The couple was first linked in March when they were spotted on vacation in Palm Beach, Florida.
Davidson revealed that they first met through mutual friends. 'We weren't really looking for anything and we immediately were just like, 'Oh, wow.''
He continued, 'I would say she's female me, and I'm male her. We just laugh all day.'
Davidson's movie, The Home, hits theaters this Friday, July 25.

See Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jenna Ortega at 'Wednesday' season 2 premiere, plus what to know about the new season

Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones and the cast of " Wednesday" hit the purple carpet at the show's season 2 world premiere in London this week. The Emmy Award-winning Netflix series from Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and Tim Burton previously earned a Costume Designers Guild Award for its wardrobe in 2022, so it was no surprise the stars were also dressed to impress. Ortega, who stars as the namesake Wednesday Addams in the dark fantasy series, arrived on the purple carpet in gothic glamour, wearing a translucent cream latex gown with snake skin detailing. The star, styled by Enrique Melendez -- who posted various angles of the look on his Instagram story, including a photo of himself holding up Ortega's train while she signed autographs for fans -- wore her hair loosely pulled back in a long, low ponytail, completing the look with dark lipstick and bleached eyebrows. Zeta-Jones, who plays Ortega's onscreen mother, channeled a classic Morticia Addams look in a dramatic black Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture gown with a keyhole halter silhouette, cascading ruffles and a thigh-high slit. What is 'Wednesday' season 2 about? The official trailer for the upcoming season shows Wednesday Addams returning to Nevermore Academy, where she has a psychic vision and learns her best friend and roommate, Enid -- played by Emma Myers -- will die. Worse, Wednesday sees that she will somehow be responsible for the death. "Secrets are the bedrock of the Addams family," Wednesday says in the trailer. "The sooner I can get the answers, the sooner I can save Enid -- or die trying." It also seems that Wednesday's turn saving Nevermore from a Hyde in season 1 has made her extremely popular. When she first arrives back at school, a fellow student asks for her autograph. "I only sign my name in blood," Wednesday says in response. Watch the full trailer and read more about what's ahead on the upcoming season here. When does 'Wednesday' season 2 premiere? Part 1 of "Wednesday" season 2 debuts -- fittingly -- on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Part 2 will arrive Wednesday, Sept. 3. How to watch 'Wednesday' season 2 The series is available to stream exclusively on Netflix. Who is in 'Wednesday' season 2? In addition to Ortega and Zeta-Jones, season 2 also stars Steve Buscemi, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan and Billie Piper.

is a born-and-raised New Yorker who is an editor for Eater's Northeast region and Eater New York, was the former Eater Austin editor for 10 years, and often writes about food and pop culture. Fans of maple creemes, the iconic Vermont maple frozen specialty, will find a similarly styled dessert in Brooklyn from a new ice cream shop. Maple Creamery opened in Crown Heights at 653 Sterling Place, near Franklin Avenue, on Saturday, July 26. Maple Creamery's menu is full of vegan ice creams made with maple syrup sourced from a farm outside of Vermont. Co-founders Collin Whyte and Bailey Rollins tell Eater over Instagram direct message that the soil from the property in Vermont, where the team sources their maple — which has been running since the 1800s — 'gives the syrup a unique taste of butterscotch.' Flavors include matcha lemonade, strawberry shortcake, and, yes, maple. There are also vegan baked goods such as cookies and cakes. NYC bakery keeps growing in Queens Growing NYC French-style bakery Somedays is opening its fourth location this summer. The newest bakery will be found in Bayside at 212-67 26th Avenue, near Bell Boulevard, starting on Friday, August 1. The bakery's new menu items include a croissant pudding ice cream sandwich (it's really the era of ice cream sandwiches), hot dog croissants (hot dog summer continues), and elote danishes. Otherwise, expect its lattice croissants, cookies, coffee, and more. So many croissants at Somedays Bakery. Courtesy of Mike Chau
